HTML - Numbered Bullet List Problem
Hi there, i'm in the middle of setting up a shopping cart and have a little problem!
I'm laying out the privacy page, and when I select numbered list for the formatting of some Terms and conditions, the numbers that run onto 2 lines are not indenting like the line above it. So the first line is indented with the number and the bottom line is aligned to the left. It looks untidy. It appears fine in dreamweaver but not when I upload to server. I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this, here is the address: http://www.thinking-forward.co.uk/privacy.cfm Similar TutorialsHow come when ever I had a num/bullet list and the lines break, it shows up like this: This is a test this is a test this is a test thiestThis is a test this is a test this is a test this is a test this is a test thiestThis is a test this is a test this is a test t 1. hiestThisis a test this is a test this is a test thiest. The # 1. Should be before the first line Always... This is driving me crazy... I am using sharepoint designer, and it looks fine there, but when I load it in a browser, it shows up like it does above... http://oasisenergyconsultants.com/test.html I have 2 major problems right now: 1. my image is blocking/overlapping the numbers of a numbered list 2. my image has a border around it I can't remove. typically I add border="0", but that doesn't seem to be working this time. as you can see, the border is very visible. I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers to fix these 2 problems.. thanks Hi all, Im having a problem with unordered lists. When I view it in Dreamweaver, the bullet points are small, but when I view in browser, they are huge. Ive tried adding classes to the CSS, but not sure what im doing wrong. Ive got one class that is: .bulletList { padding:0px; margin:12px; } I tried adding a different class for the actual lists: .bulletSize { font-size:12px; } But all this did was change the size of the font and not the size of the bullet point. Can anyone suggest what I could do to fix this? Thanks in advance I am making a website with a list inside list for my navigation bar. It looks good on safari(win/mac) and firefox but the list looks horrible in IE7.0(didnt check 6.0) I was wondering if anyone know what it could be HTML Code: Code:

- Facebook

- Myspace

- Youtube

- Testing | May 01

- Debut Album | Apr 30

- Archives

- Categories

- Media

- News

- Off Topic

- Tutorials

- Coming soon...

- biography

- Coming soon...

contactForm

CSS Code: Code: #nav { float:right; width:195px; padding-left:20px; background:url("images/navback.png"); } #nav ul { list-style: none; margin-left:1px; border: none; } #nav .navli { padding-top:3px; padding-bottom:3px; } #nav .navlinks { padding-left:25px; } #nav .navlinks a,a:link { color:#262626; } #nav .navli img { margin-top:5px; margin-bottom:5px; } #nav .navlinks a:hover { color:#dadada; } #nav img.menupic { margin:20px 10px 5px 95px; } #nav a { font-size:14px; display:block; } #nav a.point { font-size:14px; font-weight:bold; } .navliover { background:url("images/navhover.jpg"); } Any help at all would be appriciated please I can show u the website via Private message if you are interested in helping Thanks in advance Reply With Quote Hi- So i have this problem that i cant find a solution for. i am making a web page and on the web page is an accordian nav menu. i am editing it in dreamweaver. Now, when i look at the page in livewiew it looks fine. BUT when i post the page on the internet there is this bullet next to my nav menu!! I cant find the code for it! all the

start and end when they are supossed to! and

ends when its supposed to too! im pulling my hair out with this bullet. what do i do? thanks Ok I'm trying to create an unordered list but I need two other seperate lines of text under each of the bullet lines of text' I'll see if I can give and example of what I need: (bullet) Day Spa www.dayspa.com A day spa treatment (bullet) Nelson Spa www.nelsonspa.com Full line spa (bullet) Whispering Spring Spa www.whisperingspring.com Full spa and resort when I do a simple UL and try to use
tags to create the different lines under each list, it wont validate and says I cant have a
inside a list. Also the bullets need to be black small squares, which, maybe I have over looked, cant seem to find the ascii codes for a small black square. I also get validation errors saying I cant have an "a" reference inside a list. So I tried to work around this by setting this up as a paragraph with
tags after each line and just find the ascii code and insert a square before the first line of each spa. Anyone know a way to accomplish this and still get the validation? Any help would be greatly appreciated! btw i made up the links but they seem to work! sorry but I wasnt trying to use real web links. Is there a way to set the color of the bullets for unordered lists? Hi, I have the html coding below that shows the bullet point with a caption below it. How would i format the actual bullet point to be a different size and colour to the caption below it? Thanks Code:

abc

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
abcd

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
abcde

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa </o> Hi how can i change the bullet to a number in an unordered list? this is what i want 1 etc 2 etc 3 etc can someone help Hello...I posted a question about this before but it doesn't seem to have caught anyone's eye so I thought I'd try again: http://www.trekandromeda.com/index/news.html http://www.trekandromeda.com/index/home.css I've got this site cross-browser compatible in Firefox, IE7, and Safari and was about ready to put it up for viewing when I discovered that Opera (which I have to consider because some of my community members use it) is reading the lists slightly bizarrely -- if you look at the page above you'll notice that the date/title things are offset oddly from the blue image in a way that they are not in either Firefox or IE. Does anyone know why this is, and if so, does anyone know how to fix it? I really need to get this working soon, and it's the only problem I have left to solve. Hi I've been having a lot of problems with images and bullet points overlapping, what I mean by that is I'll align an image to left allignment, it goes to the left of the text but the bullet points are superimposed over the top also the picture is being included in the list instead of to the left of the list as i want. here's a screenshot and the code of the page in question and the stylesheet, Thanks very much, I'm going mad trying to work it out: screenshot: page code: Code:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; I've got all of the copy on the page, but everything is along the left margin. I want to indent a few bullet points and paragraphs. What html do I use? Thx. Can anyone tell me if the following is possible, and if so, how do I do it? I want a list of bullet points, but if one of the bullet points has no text then I don't want the actual bullet graphic to be shown. Not the best explanation so I'll elaborate. I'm pulling the bullet data from a program using a keyword/macro so my code looks like this. HTML Code:

{{BulletPoint1}}

{{BulletPoint2}}

{{BulletPoint3}}

{{BulletPoint4}}

{{BulletPoint5}}

Works perfectly when all five bullet points are populated, but if for example, there are only 3 bullet points with text, I get the bottom two bullet graphics just hanging there with no text next to them so and the final code looks like this HTML Code:

This is bullet point 1

Here's another bullet point

Only 3 bullet points for this particular product

Can anyone help? Does anyone even know what I'm talking about? Hi, I have just joined the forum, so hello!! Although the standard margins for bullets are fine for what I want, I find when they are to the right of an image they have a different indent. I have managed to correct this in FF by using
but the bullets are invisible with IE. Any ideas? I got a problem with the list I pasted below. I would like to get rid of the space between the last
and the opening of the
tag. Is their any other way I can do this so I don't have the space between the 2 elements?

CHAPTER 1:Why HTML Rocks!

Coding isn't for pussies

What do you need to know

Common Mistakes

Eat

Sleep

Huh?

Thanks I recently posted this in the middle of someone else's thread, which wasn't the best thing to do, so here it is again in its own thread. On my web site I have a drop-down menu with a "Go" button beside it. when JavaScript is enabled in Firefox and IE7, selecting an option from the list automatically takes you to that location without touching the Go button. However, when JavaScript is disabled, the drop-down's automatic redirection is also disabled. So you need a "Go" button next to the drop-down bar. This works in Firefox, but it doesn't work in IE7, and I don't know why. Any help would be gratefully received. You can see the drop-down working at: http://www.historyfiles.co.uk/MainFeaturesIndex.htm Here's the script:

 Choose a topic British Isles

Hi everyone I am new to these forums and I am having trouble with ordered lists on one of the article on my site: http://boostplace.com/automotives/fitting-a-motorcycle-helmet/ If you look at the list it goes from 1 to 9 then resets to zero. Please can someone help me with this? I am using wordpress 3.2.1 as my cms P.S. I didn't want to link the article properly as this is my first post. Sorry about having to copy an paste. Thanks |
