HTML - Font Tags Not Working In Safari/wordpress
Similar Tutorialsi'm looking for a cheap way out of making collapse/expand code. i've learned a lot of 'ghetto' techniques n thought mayb i can use something similar to the html tricks i've learned in the past. the theory i have is.. i use the title of the collapse/expand text as a link to the text below it to open and close by using the navigating tags: Code: <a name="content">opening/closing text here</a> and the title above the content: Code: <a href="#content">Title</a> to open the area of text. now my idea of a shortcut around the whole css/html/javacript combo is to make the text below it use a Code: <font size=0>content</font> at default and have the href title link change the font size to the default 9pt but I don't know if that's even possible. Is it possible with the Code: <div> tags? and if so, using that, would i still b able to make a link like that? If I have the following code: <a href='page.html'><font color='green'>a link</font></a> The text link shows up as all green in Internet Explorer (good), however in Firefox the UNDERLINE color is NOT green, and it should be!! The underline color shows up different to the colors of the lettering. Does anyone know how to get around this? Thank you Hello all, It'd be much appreciated if someone could tell me how to make the font smaller and remove visible tags (found on the left hand side) on my Tumblr page. I have the option to edit the HTML, but don't know where to begin. Here's a link to my Tumblr page. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you. HI, I am trying to fix a webpage ( http://www.d.umn.edu/itss/labs/maps/ ) which uses some pretty complex html (atleast for me) to show pop ups when you rollover the numbers on a map of the building. They work fine in IE and Fire Fox but dont work properly in Safari. Any ideas on why it acts funny in Safari? Here is the code used to show the pop up for one of the numbers on the map. <!-- BEGIN POPUP CODE _MWAH 177_ --> <div class="test-popup"> <div id="lab-title" class="pdiv"> <p class="ptitle">MWAH 177</p> </div> <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"> <tr><td> <div id="lab-info" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><img src="pcicon.jpg"><img src="bwprinticon.jpg"><span class="pinfot">TODAY'S HOURS:</span> 8:00am - 8:00pm</p> </div> </td></tr></table> <table class="pinner" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-bottom: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid black" width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top"> <div id="lab-info2" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><span class="pinfot">CURRENT AVAILABILITY:</span></p> </div></td> <td valign="middle"> <img src="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/PieChart?lab=6&title= " height="90" border="0" align="middle"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <img src="key.jpg"> </td> </tr> </table> <div id="lab-links" class="pdiv"> <p class="plinks"><span class="pinfot"><a href="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/public/public.swf?map_id=4&lab_id=6&srv=http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080" target="_blank">ROOM VIEW</a> | <a href="https://summit.d.umn.edu/r25/html/Computer_Labs.html" target="_blank">SCHEDULE</a> | <a href="#10" target="_self">LAB INFO</a></span></p> </div> </div> <!-- END POPUP CODE --> Hi there. My site is not working on Safari. It also doesn't work on Google's Chrome, so I've been told. But it works on Firefox and other browsers. Here's the url... http://www.prs-nj.com Anyone got any ideas? Thank you, Gidmeister I am a graphic designer which is almost a complete idiot about web design, i have some problem making a web site. While i try to open my web site in FIREFOX and IE it does not work. (while safari works well) the existing link is www.sindysindy.com when i click the targeted link on the top buttons (about&contact) it open up a new pop up page. I names the top frame as TOP, the bottom two named "menu" on the left and "mainframe" on the right. While clicking buttons on the "TOP" frame would show other buttons in menu targeting things to show up in "mainframe" i have already done a web site days ago and i am trying to redo it now : ( would be really really grateful if you can help Thank you very much indeed! The bold titles on each of these two pages are aligning left in Internet Explorer. I'm at a loss, and I'd welcome any help with fixing these. http://milwaukeeweb.net/fivbook/about.html http://milwaukeeweb.net/fivbook/jac.html You may have seen this question before, but I cannot for the life of me find an answer that works. I embedded a .swf flash file on a page on my website. This flash plays perfectly on IE and Chrome, but nothing shows up on Safari or Firefox. I, at first, wrote the code by hand. Then I instead used swfobject to properly write the code (this still hasn't fixed the problem) I used the w3 markup validation site to check the code, and it comes back with 0 errors. Any Ideas? The code is below: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="posthink.swf"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> swfobject.registerObject("myFlashContent", "9.0.0"); </script> </head> <body> <div style="text-align: center;"> <object classid="clsid: D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="550" height="400" id="myFlashContent"> <param name="movie" value="posthink.swf" /> </object> </div> </body> </html> (I inserted a space in the classid= tag to do away with the : D turning into a smiley) Thanks for your help. Does anyone know of a font face generator that can convert a TTF or OTF font file into the 4 formats (woff, svg, eot, ttf), that's not font squirrel? That site only supports English fonts with a very low file size limit, and can't convert any foreign fonts. Already tried http://onlinefontconverter.com as well, doesn't work either as I waited like an hour then the server simply deleted my uploads without so much as an error pop-up lol, and now the website is not responding. This is for usage in CSS using the @font-face function. Thanks. Hello, When I try to set a font in HTML it works, but if I set a rule in my CSS to set the same font, it doesn't. Here are the three things I do (not at the same time of course): <font face="Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica"> ... ... ... </font> vs body { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica; } or even... body { font: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica; } Out of all of those, only the first can change the font in my browser...is this a CSS issue because, somehow, the browser has superiority over CSS, and HTML has superiority over the browser? I would appreciate input. Thanks. Is it possible to trigger the action of a form with a submit button that's outside the form tags? If so, how should this example be rescripted to make the input tag work outside the form tags? [/code] <html> <body> <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> First name: <input type="text" name="FirstName" value="Mickey" /><br /> Last name: <input type="text" name="LastName" value="Mouse" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> </body> </html> [/code] I am using wordpress. This is my layout http://ruriko.newsit.es/. Why is there a "dir="ltr">" ontop of the header? my footer isn't looking right it has 2 background colours and I only want the light blue one hey everyone not sure where this best goes but ill put it here i have been messing around with wordpress to see if i like it and how it works and such. I've ran into a problem and i cant seem to find an answer. When i write a post or page, and i want to add my own code, it ends up messing it up pretty bad. I go to write page and select the code view, then i put in sum code such as Code: <div class="title">Links</div> <div id="linksbox"> <ul id="linklist"> <li> <a href="#"><img src="images/test.jpg" alt="html" /> <div class="text"><h3>header</h3><p>this is some text that is a paragraph</p></div> </a> </li> <li><a href="#">Item two</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item three</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item four</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item five</a></li> </ul> </div> and when i view the page and view the source the code was outputted as this: and doesn't even work right: Code: <div class="title">Links</div> <div id="linksbox"> <ul id="linklist"> <li> <a href="#"><img src="images/test.jpg" alt="html" /></p> <div class="text"> <h3>header</h3> <p>this is some text that is a paragraph</p> </div> <p> </a> </li> <li><a href="#">Item two</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item three</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item four</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item five</a></li> </ul> </div> then i go back to edit the post and it looks like this Code: <p class="title">Links</p> <p id="linksbox"> <ul id="linklist"> <li> <a href="#"><img src="images/test.jpg" alt="html" /></a> <p class="text"> <h3><a href="#">header</a></h3> <a href="#">this is some text that is a paragraph</a> <a href="#"> </a></li> <li><a href="#">Item two</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item three</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item four</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item five</a></li> </ul> anyone know why this happens, or how to make it so it don't do that? I have a WP blog with Elements of Style template. I'm looking ot put information on the bottom of each content area I create. I am at a loss to figure out which of the files to edit. [IMG]editwordpress.jpg[/IMG] Hello, i'm setting up a website on Wordpress and I want the following: 1. A static (non blog) contact page just like this http://i25.tinypic.com/29lmyo3.jpg 2. I want my blog postings to be archived in pages just like this: http://i30.tinypic.com/3004epj.jpg as opposed to scrolling down the whole page to see my posts. Is this a default feature in Wordpress or do I have to do something to make this happen to my posts? 3. My template only has one column, I would like to split it into two columns (http://i30.tinypic.com/3004epj.jpg) like this site, so I can have a place to put adverts etc. Thank you Hey! I've recently transfered my blog over to wordpress.org (from wordpress.com) and now have the ability to alter my template, but i need some help with a few things! The current widgets i have up i believe came across with the back up copy of my original blog, but they aren't mentioned within 'widgets' in my dashboard. I added a mailing list and I'm wanting it to appear under the search bar, i presume to do this i will need to alter the code, but i can't find where to edit the code as i added the mailing list box as a widget, and it hasn't seemed to appear within the code where all the other current widgets i have are displayed. Does anyone know how i can move the mailing list up higher?? Also, I'm wanting to create a 'home' page which directs back to the home page of my blog. I had this set-up on my previous blog where i set the title to the url. But i removed it as with the new template it directed to a new page, called home. I'm wondering if someone knows how i can set up a page that directs to the home page of my blog? And also, if it's possible to place the page at the front of my other pages. Ie. "Home : About : Recommended Reading". And not "About : Recommended Reading : Home". ? And one last thing! I'm wanting to add a Google search tool to the current search bar that's on my blog. I would like it to look the same, if thats possible(?) but have the option of searching my blog, or the web along with a small Google banner at the bottom. I'm unsure where i should add this code, as within the theme editor i have a section titled "search results" which is a fairly long php code, and i also have a small section within the "sidebar" section which says: <!-- Search --> <div id="sidebar-search"> <form method="get" id="searchform" action="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/"> <input type="text" value="<?php the_search_query(); ?>" name="s" id="s" /> <input type="submit" id="searchsubmit" value="" /> </form> </div> <!-- /Search --> Should i add the Google html code to that part? Or will i need to change the php code as well for it to work? Appreciate any help! www.nikkisblogspot.com I am using the lated release of WordPress and I am using WP-Forum to enable a forum on my site. I changed many of the images and some of the css that was on a default theme to make my own but I cannot figure out one thing. When you click new post and the text box shows up with subject and message the message box is cols="80" and I wan it to be cols="75" so it does not go over into the sidebar. My website is www.ipodtouchcafe.com. Below is the code I got from firebug: <textarea name="message" cols="80" rows="20"/> That is the text box for the message and the Bold, Italic, Underlined part is the cols section. Feel free to go to my website and register so you can see what I am talking about. THANKS! Hi folks, I'm trying to achieve something in a wordpress widget, but no good result so far. Please have a look at the image. My problem is that I cant separate text from the image on the right side. Cant give the space between "vivamus lectus" and the "venenatis tempus..." And cant separate social icons on bottom without using a table. I'm coding it with normal html, no css. Can you please help me out? thanks Hi, My website is really acting strange. I've altered my header.php page to display a custom banner I made for the front page instead of "Site Title" (div class = "head-title") which was what it was set to. I thought I was good to go until I click the other pages. For some reason the banner magically disappears on the rest of the pages. The main index.php and page.php templates both have <?php get_header(); ?> at the top of each. So the code looks identical when I view page source for the other pages. I'm stumped as to why the header isn't showing throughout the site. Please help if you can. URL: http://www.princesscutdiamond.org. Thanks, gord |
