HTML - Code To View Excel File??

Hi, I am a noob at programming. But I am making my site at the moment where I am uploading pdf files. Could anybody tell me how I can do a view count (please be simple and assume I know not much).

Is there somewhere I can upload code so that it can be seen by forum members? Im trying to fix my layout for ebay and I don't really have anywhere else I can put it besides posting all the code here.

I have a website where I want to make a drop down menu that will bring you to different pages. It is a very basic, sort of old-fashioned website that relies entirely on html. What I'm trying to do is make a drop-down menu that will be used as navigation for a section of a website and I want to have it in each internally linked page in that section, but I'm going to be adding more pages to it over time so I want to be able to put the drop-down menu code in a separate text file and then substitute it into the pages that I make that the options in the menu link to and then just edit the code in the text file when I add another page so that I don't have to go back and edit the code every single individual page whenever I add a new one among them.

Basically all I'm asking is how I can put html code in a text file and then substitute that code into an html page by referring to the file. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ok most of this will probably come out as gibberish but here goes.

First a bit of background; I use DVDProfiler to catalogue my DVDs. I have trailers for most of my films stored on my pc. In DVDP there is a notes window that can contain HTML. The data stored in this field is stored along with the film data so I have the code below in there which launches the trailer.

This is fine, however, I need to use the notes section for something else so I need another option. DVDP also allows the use of HTML windows but these are independent of the film profiles so it would have to have the ability to read the path from the notes section or some other bit of data that identifies the film (ie the title or UPC)

Anyone have any idea how this could be done?

Hello there, I have a html page that has links to files on it,, when a user clicks on a file it comes up asking for them to save, open or cancel. is it at all possible to add code to this line

to make it so it will automatically open,, instead of asking for those options?

I just started working at a company and they have a website that was partially completed by someone else and have hired me to complete and make changes to it. It seems that most of the website was created in Wordpress, but some of it seems to be done by hand-coding.

I was able to get the company's FTP information which shows me all of the files that are on the site and I can easily transfer over locally to work in say Dreamweaver for example. They want me to make some changes to the navigation bar up top where it has links to the Hotels, Flights, Cruises, etc. From looking at the code in the index.php file, which leads to other files, I wasn't able to figure out which file to open in order to make those changes.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but from looking at the source code, would someone be able to know the answer to that? Any information that someone could give me would be certainly much appreciated.

My new webcam server sends a jpg file to my website just fine. But the filename is numeric with a jpg file extension. The webcam server waits the required time and then sends another jpg to my website. The problem is that the numeric file name is different and does not overwrite the existing file like my old webcam server used to do. So I end up with a number if jpg files in the directory with numeric filenames with the jpg extension. I need some code that will load the "latest jpg file" by date and time into my html page. Here is how I used to do it when the pic.jpg file was sent to my site and it overwrote the existing file.

I am hoping that there is a way to load the new numeric filename jpg into my html by selecting the "latest" jpg by date and time stamp. Thanks in advance Mike

When I open an HTML with my browser to see how it looks, instead of what the code should look like showing showing up, the code itself shows up. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm quite new to HTML. I use Dreamweaver CS5. This is the code I used:

I have this task as part of an HTML class project.

It has to be done using the <embed> tag, and must repeat a wav file twice (playing it three times total).

This is the code I'm using:

It doesn't loop at all in firefox, and in IE it loops constantly. If I remove the loop="3" attribute, it works properly in IE.

Is there any way to get this working across browsers using the embed tag, or would a more complex method be needed? (such as javascript browser detection with browser specific code).

I'm really stuck on this, any help would be really appreciated.

Hi All,

I have a web application that has a few div tags in the base index.html and calls a java app for the output to the div tags. All is working ok, except when I try to format a ms-excel document as output from the java (to the div tag).

If I invoke the java app directly in a web browser, the excel popup window comes up and my output goes to an excel document. However, if I invoke the java app (using Ajax request/response) I get the output to the div tag and the excel popup does not come up. Is this something special/different I need to do when using a div tag/Ajax?

Hey, I'm wondering how to easily convert Excel documents into HTML, so that i can open them up in notepad/text edit.

I read this article (http://www.granneman.com/webdev/codi...texceltotables) which says to save the excel document as a CSV file, then when using dreamweaver you can import that into a tabular form.

Is there a way of doing this without using dreamweaver?
I don't necessarily mean that it will be converted into straight HTML <table><tr> etc, but just so it's easily editable. When i open the CSV file in notepad i get a bunch of commas like this:

Does anyone know how to do this in the most efficiently quick way? Either using notepad or text edit.

Unfortunately a database is and .NET is out fo the question. The application is limited to HTML / JS only.

I am creating a form that will search these accounts for amounts greater than $X. For ease of editing and the end user, the account numbers are stored on an Excel sheet. How would I reference the spreadsheet and cell range in HTML to allow querying on these account numbers?

This is what I had so far in my attempts of searching and trying to piece together this segment.

so far i've created

the calendar.html that contains the layout and the events.html from excel and i'd like to know the code or how to LINK the events.html into the calendar.html file rather than copy/pasting the enter code within the events.html file everytime so whenever i update the events.html i don't have to go into the calendar.html to update the codes, i can just replace the events.html file and woolah!

when i save the excel file i can choose to save it as a webpage but then that's 2 html files, i'm just trying to get the table inside the calendar.html while keeping the layout and ease of being able to create it within excel
