HTML - Website Width Adjustment
Hello Everyone, I would like to make our website wider but I can't seem to find where to do it. Currently our site is around 760 pixels wide. I would like to make it around 900 pixels
Here is our URL http://www.normanlamps.com In the index page all the tables are set to 100% page width so I assume it wouldn't be an adjustment there. Could it be in the Header? or could some CSS code be determining the width? I appreciate any help Similar TutorialsHi, Is there away to force my website to fit an Iphone screen when viewed on the iphone. At the moment the width doesn't full span the Iphones screen so it looks bad. http://pjm.co.uk.uksite4.yourwebserv...splay&PageID=5 Thanks alot Joe Okay, there are probably a bunch of threads on this, but I do not know what to search for it. What I am looking for is for my website, an iPhone version of a site, to start at the topleft instead of having the little indent type thing. I did width="100%" but it just doesn't want to work. Here is my test page http://iphone.auditoriumcrew.webuda.com/test.php where you can see it has the spacing at the top, left, and right. Here is the actual site, or what will be the actual site: http://iphone.auditoriumcrew.webuda.com/ All help appreciated, Alex I've got another problem with my website. I've taken a screenshot that I wanted for my website background. But since it was took on my screen, it doesn't fill the screen on wider monitors. I'm just wondering if there's any information on auto-resizing a website background. Or is it a scirpt/CSS/php style thing? This problem seems abit more complex than me previous problem. I'm on a 19 inch monitor. Here is my website for those that have bigger screens than me. http://www.dawncraftmc.com/ Firstly, can I just say I'm a new poster and hope this is in the right place. Also, when reading the problem please keep in mind everything I know about html java etc is self taught so I'm sure there are giant gaps in my knowledge of the subject. I'm trying to create a scrolling vertical typwriter code. The important features a - Must scroll vertically - Text must appear 1 letter at a time - When a line has been typed it must scroll up 1 line space to allow the next line to be typed - When the box is full of typed lines, the box must stay focused on the bottom. For instance, I've found elsewhere on the web something similar but each line appears and when the box is full of typed lines, it stays fixed on the top. Despite a scrollbar coming up on the side. This isn't much use as I want the user to see the most recently typed line not the 1st lines. Again, I've found elsewhere one that does all this except it extends the size of the box instead of scrolling. I have got 2 versions so far but neither match what I want entirely and I'm struggling to get them that last bit. http://www.freewebs.com/football_aca...lantaradio.htm The 1st one (green box) is good except when the box is full it clears and continues in a fresh box. I want it to scroll as said above, not to do this. This is java script I got and edited from elsewhere. The 2nd one is the grey box at the bottom and is one I've written in html code myself after reading up on various things. This isn't typewriter and doesn't jump up a line at a time. It is a smooth continuous scroll that I've added pauses to to simulate jumping each line. This one is in fact the old one I'm trying to replace because if you watch it long enough, it starts jumping half lines instead. Can anyone help? Or am I a lost cause? Hey all! I'm stuck in the world of coding This bidding software package comes with a few skin but all of them have a limited size for the header. I'm currently trying to change it. Instead of this (original header of the skin): http://www.probidtest.x10.mx/probidtest/v604/ I want a header that goes all the way from left to right in all resolutions. Replacing the probid logo with a bigger image, is not a solution! Depending on the set resolution of the computer the header will show up differently and sometimes not reach the right end. Inspiring myself from the code of this page: http://www.horror-mall.com/auction_house/ I have managed to do the following: http://www.probidtest.x10.mx/probidtest/v605/ However the site margins have been distorted by the coding change in the header.tpl.php file. If you login to the members area (user: test ; pass: 1234) and click in the main menu on members area, the site now expands in this section. What can I do? Any approach that gives results will do. From what I have heard, the circumstance that the site is build on tables is a big problem. Hope there is a genius around im creatinh a box containing a text. The box must be wide enough to fill a text. menu.style.width = tekst.length - this functioin gives the number of letters in text. So if the text is "hello" then the width is 5 pixels. But i need the widith of pixels needed to fit the text in a box. How can i do that? I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Thanks. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~fencing/ I am a total noob but volunteered to administrate the website, because there was no one else to do it. Hi How to add a website counter to my website. So that when ever a visitor visits the website I want the counter to increase say from 101 to 102 and then for a new visitor it should be 103 and then again for the next visitor 104 and so on..... I want to know the code. There are number of websites that are offering this but they put their advertisement which I don't want Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well. e.g.: Google images :http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...en-us%26sa%3DG sorry for the massive link. Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked. I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url. Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do. If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks hello, i need a website for german customers, somethign like www.podmod.de because i would like to offer the same. Any ideas? any help much appreciated. Thanks, Simon. code: <table width="464" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <!--DWLayoutDefaultTable--> <tr> <td width="282" height="88"></td> <td width="136"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td height="76"> </td> <td valign="top"><img src="../Images/yoga_sangha-title.jpg" alt="title" width="557" height="131" /></td> </tr> </table> in browser, the <td width="282" height="88"></td> element has width of alomost 0 instead of a width of 282. Why? Thx. Does anyone know the average width of a screen in html code? I'm using a widescreen labtop to create a website, and I'd like to design it for the normal size screen. I don't know if this is supposed to be posted here or in the css forum - so correct me if I'm doing it wrong. I'm making a table with a variable number of colums. The first column should be allowed to have a width of 30 % if it is needed by the text, but less if it is not needed. (This can style="max-width:30%" do for me). The rest of the columns can use the space that the first columns doesn't use, but shouldn't be able to force the first column to be smaller. If I use max-width the first column might be smaller than 30% because of the rest of the columns forces it to be so, and if I use width=30% the width will be 30% even if the text in the first column doesn't need 30%. Can anyone help me? Hi, I have a question to all. How can I made 100% header (bg only), normal content area (fixed width) then 100% box and below normal content area (fixed wifth and at last 100% footer. Here at ultdmovies.com, I need to find the width I made the whole thing, and plus the width of the forum at ultdmovies.com/forum. Thanks! How do I get an image to be 100% of the screen width, without creating a sideways scroll bar in lower screen resolution displays?
