HTML - Custom Head On Layout
I am having issues with a myspace layout, I usually do my own, but my friends band had another guy do it. In the process he made a custom mast header and the music player is not showing up. Here is the coding, can someone help fix this please.

I want to have a box in the middle of the page, when it is clicked I would like other boxes to expand from it. Am I going to need flash for this? Hey guys, im new here so I want to introduce myself. I run an ubuntu server from home and serve Thetuxhouse.com from it. I was just adding a favicon to it and ran into an obstacle. I've been using javascript for repeated stuff like the menu, and banner. The favicon links would also be repeated. I tried to use javascript in the same fashion for the favicons in http://thetuxhouse.com/js/head.js and it did not work. I need to make an external file for the links to the favicons that are currently making my header very bulky. Thanks alot. -Hartless yo ppl i can get a head an everythin <head><title>thisisexamle</title></head but how do i get a samell img in ther like this site? the little light bulb thing thnx for ur time marcus I really hate to do this, but I am in need of some help. A few days ago I had a family reunion with one hundred or so attending, and somehow word got out that I was a Computer Engineering major. Now this is where it gets tricky, I was approached by a number of my distant relatives wanting me to build a website for our family reunion. They want something very simple so anyone of any age can use it, and they want to have some kind of registration where you can view everyone else who registered and post images of the family. However they don't want a forum because it is " Not elderly friendly". My knowledge of HTML is probably slightly higher than a beginner level, and this entire this has me flustered and stressed out. Does anyone have any tips on where to start for this? In a template I'm using I find the following head code. <style type="text/css"> /* <!-- */ Is the /*<--*/ necessary? Does it do anything? Can I remove it along with the ending tag /* --> */ , or is it required? I presume I need the <style type="text/css">, because I does use some style tags in the body. Thanks I am extremely new to Web design. I have found that it is very tricky to design sites that will look good regardless of which browser is being used and regardless of what browser settings have been tweaked. Following is my first attempt at a personal template. http://eversnug.com/holmeschiropract...es/frames.html There is a border segment just dangling to the bottom of the lower left corner that I don't know how to get rid of. Any help would be much appreciated. I have the following code in my <head> Code: <script src="scriptaculous/lib/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="scriptaculous/src/effects.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="fabtabulous.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="validation.js"></script> <title>AUDY</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="audy3.css"/> However only the java is loading, not the css. If I change the css link to an absolute link (http://.../audy3.css) then the css works but not the java. If I change the java links to absolute links it still doesn't work. What's going on? Basic question, but can anybody tell me how to load a new HTML page upon immediate load of a page. I am looking to have index.html immediately load a different home page. I'm trying to use onLoad, but can't seem to get it working. Thanks Hey All I'm having some trouble with the most basic of things. I currently own some web space which supports upto 6 domain names. I'm already using one, we'll call it FIRST.com which works fine. During this week i purchased a new domain name lets say called SECOND.com. Using CPanel I was able to create an addon domain which automatically sets the root directory of the new domain to a folder called SECOND.com The problem I am having is that although if I type into my browser SECOND.com (and having set my .htaccess file) I get my index.html page with text, no images or CSS styles have been applied. Links to other pages work however, even if they are in sub directories. For some reason I just cannot link images or CSS files, yet if I type their path into the browser they are displayed, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance Rev hey guys, just wondering if you could help me to know if this is possible and the way it is achieved... i have a contact form made up in photoshop that i want to work on the web. heres a preview... any help would be very much appreciated. I have a div that currently has standard scroll bars on it. However I would like to replace them with custom scroll bars or a button at the top and bottom which moves the text contained within it up and down. It must be compatible with Firefox. Does anyone have any suggestions or know an internet reference that I can look at to get some ideas? Hi everyone, I really don't know much about this topic, so I'd like some advice. I need to add some scrollbars to an iframe. They can be anything except the OS's scrollbars. As long as I can change the color or the shape or something to customize them that is great. Also, I read that this can only be done on IE. Is it possible to do it on other browsers. I also heard that it is possible through Flash? Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks Im not too sure where this should go or how feaable this is to do but ill try. Ive used a custom font called "Bauer". Obviously everyone doesnt have this font and ive heard it is possible to upload the font and have it auto download to the fonts folder. Is this possible and if so how is the best way to do this? Introduction: I am using an affiliate marketing program for Joomla!/Virtuemart called iDevaffiliate. It essentially tracks the sales of an affiliate, and you can set up commisions and pay them monthly. The techneque iDevAffiliate uses to get this done is much like a lot of other online affiliate programs I've seen. An affiliate get's his/her own special link to our store that they can direct their traffic through. They can put the link on their website, give it to a customer, or just hand it out. This is a good way, but I needed something a bit different. What I need: iDevAffiliate gives the affiliates their own special link. This link is the same for all affiliates, with the exception of the last 3 charachters which happen to be numbers. I want to create a page with 1 small form field in the center where a customer can come, type in those three digits, and the rest of the link would automatically be added upon submission. So, I need a form that has the capability to take what's typed into a the field, and add the remaining part of a link, then take them to it. Any Suggestions? Jeremy Hi, It's the first time I'm using custom fonts on a site, wondering why these rows don't work in Internet Explorer? HTML Code: @font-face { font-family: Myriad Pro; src: url(fonts/MyriadPro-Regular.otf) format("truetype"); } @font-face{ font-family: Giddyup Std; src: url(fonts/GiddyupStd.otf) format("truetype"); } @font-face{ font-family: Orator Std; src: url(fonts/OratorStd.otf) format("truetype"); } Hey, so I've been getting no luck with this, I finally managed to get a tool tip to work, but I'm a perfectionist and wont quit til its perfect. Heres my code for the particular section I'm trying to get to work: CSS a.info span { display: none; } a { color: #4b98a8; background-color: inherit; text-decoration: none } a.info:hover span { display: block; position: relative; margin: 2px 0; padding: 10px; background-color: #111; } a:hover { color: #4b98a8; background-color: #111; position: relative; } HTML <a href="http://google.ca" class="info"><h1>Acer</h1> <span> Website: http://google.ca<br /> Contact: (555)-555-5555<br /> Hours: Mon-Fri: 8AM-5PM </span> </a> So I've tried all sorts of other commands in css and It's not changing, I've been working from a template I'm in no means 100% knowledgeable in html/css but I gather the basic concepts. Now generally what I'm trying to accomplish is to get the tooltip to pop up to the right of the word "Acer" (It always pops up underneath) And the tooltip pops up when your on any part of the line Acer is on, I want it to op up only when you highlight the word. Here's my website link so you can see what it's doing. LK Electronics I have a form with a Text Field and a Button. Pretty straightforward. Is there a way to get to a custom web page if a user writes a "trigger"-word in the Text Field and click on Submit? For example if he wrote USJ 298 he would come to usj.html and if he wrote USX 047 he would come to usx.html. Is it possible to do in HTML and/or without a database query? Thanks, JT Hi, Click here to download my custom button: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zzdly4idyzu Basically, the easiest way would be to just type Code: <input type="button" style="background-image: url('button.png');" /> But what if I want it to be resizable based on the value? It won't work after that. Can someone help me to create a better button? I'm looking to make a blog for free, but one that doesn't advertise what service it is allover my layout (or anywhere on my layout, to be precise). So I'm thinking I may have to turn to hosting my own blog and using something like Drupal or Joomla? Is there a free service online that has no ads, and would it be difficult to make my own layout for that service? I remember I used to be able to plug in the tags for blogger's dynamic content and use a noembed tag to get rid of their god awful bar at the top, but those things no longer work for me it seems! Thanks to anyone who answers my question. I'm new to this forum and html as well... Might sound like as silly question... I'm an Android application developer. Recently i developed an app to track down the location of the cell phone using inbuilt GPS Receiver. Now, the user gets the coordinates and needs to enter it into a web site text input to get the exact location of his cell phone. I just want two input type="text" field and one input type="Button". inside input types, user needs to fill in Latitude and Longitude value and on clicking the button, a new windows should pop up with a google maps url like the following : - http://maps.google.com/maps?q=28.422523,77.102102 where 28.422523 and 77.102102 are two text field contents passed from input type="text". Thats it. I tried but on submission of the button, the url becomes http://maps.google.com/maps?q=28.422523&r=77.102102 which doesn't work since google maps cant resolute the url. I cudn't remove "&" and "=" sign and replace it with a ",". Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... |
