HTML - Flash Will Not Load In Firefox
Similar TutorialsHi, I want to add some flash to my header image on my website. Before i add the flash i was wondering if there was any code i could use to first check if flash is installed and if not for it to just ignore the flash and load the background image. The flash is just going to be an animation of my logo. Is there something i can do similar to when you use code to check for browser version? If the person has not got flash installed i don't want them to be promted to install it i just want it to load the static logo image which will be set as the background image behind the flash. For people with flash already installed i would like the flash annimation to load. Any ideas on if this is possible would be appreciated Thanks in advance CC_DESIGN Is there a way I can load a page (with a text informing that 'you need flash player to view this web') if he doesnt have it installed in his browser? How would I do this? Your help is greatly appreciated. Does anyone know the code (HTML) that will play Flash in both Explorer and Firefox? Hello all, I just got a job working for a school and noticed their website was pretty much unorganized. So yesterday i took up dreamweaver and created this page(the rest of the site is pending acceptance/working of this main page): http://pratt.broward.edu/colejw/Attucks/ However, it did come with problems. In IE it displays fine, everything seems to work. But.. Firefox doesn't seem to like my menu bar and flash scroller combo. In firefox the flash scroller appears over the drop down menu, below is a picture of what i mean. Everything below the menu bar is in a table, so its not the table itself since the drop down appears over the pictures and other text. The only thing overriding it is the flash scroller. Anyone have any ideas? i played with Z-index and such but no luck and in one instance it moves everything from the menu down over to the right of the menu, i could also be placing the z-index's in the wrong place. If anyone has any fixes please let me know. Hi, can anybody tell me why the flash animation is not correctly displayed in Firefox ? (and only the second time I visit the website) http://lancelmaat.nl/ thanks <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Untitled Page</title> </head> <frameset rows="15%,85%"> <frame src="framesTop.html" name="homeBtn"> <frame src="framesTop.html" name="honeBtn"> </frameset> </html> Firefox won't load the second frame (IE will). I started out with a more complicated layout, but FF wouldn't load anything but the first frame. So I started pruning. This is about as simple as you can get, but it still won't load that second frame. Can anyone tell me why? When I view the source of the first frame it shows me the source, but when I view the source of the second frame, it shows me the source for a blank page. You may have seen this question before, but I cannot for the life of me find an answer that works. I embedded a .swf flash file on a page on my website. This flash plays perfectly on IE and Chrome, but nothing shows up on Safari or Firefox. I, at first, wrote the code by hand. Then I instead used swfobject to properly write the code (this still hasn't fixed the problem) I used the w3 markup validation site to check the code, and it comes back with 0 errors. Any Ideas? The code is below: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="posthink.swf"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> swfobject.registerObject("myFlashContent", "9.0.0"); </script> </head> <body> <div style="text-align: center;"> <object classid="clsid: D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="550" height="400" id="myFlashContent"> <param name="movie" value="posthink.swf" /> </object> </div> </body> </html> (I inserted a space in the classid= tag to do away with the : D turning into a smiley) Thanks for your help. Google chrome, IE 7 and 8, and i think Opera all load the images fine. but Firefox (latest version) just does not load all of them. I refresh the page and it loads the ones that did not load before but still has some unloaded. Can some one please explain to me or help me on this? i have been pulling my hair out Thanks for help people, photos should be below. The first one is the Firefox one. Also here is a link to the page: http://www.dubbest.com/index%20MAIN.htm I am using the following code to embed a flash game into my website: Code: <div id="game-position"> <object data="content/games/stickman-sam-2.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="400"> <param name="ShowStatusBar" value="1" /> <param name="src" value="games/stickman-sam-2.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="loop" value="false" /> </object> </div> It works perfectly well on Firefox 3.0.11 but when I try to load the page in Internet Explorer 8 it just shows the flash game as a white square? Does anyone know how I could fix this? Thanks I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 and I am trying to get a flash embed to display on it but I am having a lot of trouble. i have successfully used and enabled different flash objects elsewhere but this is the only one that wont run. so I know it will work. HTML Code: <head> <title>iSwim</title> </head> <body> <div style="width: 320px; height: 356px; margin-top: 80px; margin-bottom: 44px;"> <object width="320" height="356"> <param name="movie" value="http://listen.grooveshark.com/widget.swf" /> <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <param name="flashvars" value="hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&widgetID=22770693&style=metal&bbg=000000&bfg=046cc7&bt=FFFFFF&bth=000000&pbg=FFFFFF&pbgh=046cc7&pfg=000000&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lbgh=046cc7&lfg=000000&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&sbh=046cc7&p=0" /> <embed src="http://listen.grooveshark.com/widget.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="320" height="356" flashvars="hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&widgetID=22770693&style=metal&bbg=000000&bfg=046cc7&bt=FFFFFF&bth=000000&pbg=FFFFFF&pbgh=046cc7&pfg=000000&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lbgh=046cc7&lfg=000000&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&sbh=046cc7&p=0" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="opaque" /></object> </div> </body> Can anyone help me to make sure the flash displays right? what happens is the player loader displays at the top instead of the center and the control buttons are present before it loads. then after the loader fails it shows a "cannot connect" error. so I think the flash object is resizing inside its self. can anyone help me clean up this script so it will display correctly in iPhone safari (with flash enabled)? website is he smalldotdesign.zxq.net/iSwim.html that is where the HTML file is located that I am trying to get corrected. thanks in advance. i have a feeling this is going to be a tough fix. The only flash element is the Navigation bar at the top. With out making 2 dedicated flash/non flash sites, how do we make it so that if flash is not detected on the viewers computer then the flash navigation will not show, but instead show a java script rollover nav bar? I was thinking maybe have the flash nav in a div that floats over the image nav, and if flash is not detected it would disappear...? help would be super appreciated. -Mongoose I've just published my first flash site, which is a schoolproject.
