HTML - User-friendly Dynamic Updates?
Hey guys, I'm trying to convert a website I work on www.darkregions.com so that certain sections (such as the news and new books sections) can be updated dynamically using an easy to use interface. The reason I'm doing this is because the owner of the business wants to be able to do some of the updates himself.
What's a system/tool that I could achieve this with? I know it will require PHP/MySQL. Let me know what you guys think. Similar TutorialsHi! My problem is that there are a lot of people who go to my site, and think there is nothing new, becasuse they are really seeing the unupdated version of the site... and they don't refresh. The reason I ask, is the company I work for wishes to show the newsletters from their partner company but doesn't want to update their website after each letter. So, I know I can create a link to their site rather easily, but I'm wondering if it's possible to actually copy the files that are stored in .pdf format. This website.. has been a pain in the behind. Lately visitations have been falling. I cant get it to be visited that much, the average hits per day fell from 13 / 16 to 2 / 4 per day. It needs help and im clueless. Upgraded the meta data today. But since the site doesnt contain that much articles and headlines im stuck what to do more? Basically, I've been making an awful lot of websites lately for final year art students as a portfolio of their work. The majority of them want something extremely simple, typically with a collection of thumbnails linking to larger versions of work, a page of links, an about page etc.. The issue is, unless they're proficient with HTML and FTP, they can't update them that easily by themselves. So, on a hosting package without PHP, what's the best way I can automate the process of them being able to update their sites? Are there any good CMS platforms that don't require PHP? Thanks in advance, Jez I had this problem before with the Firefox coding incompatibility.. On my website, I post updates for all of the changes I make about each month. I tried to post an update today and I noticed that it wasn't showing up in Firefox. I brought my page up on Internet Explorer and it shows up just fine. Point and case, there's something wonky with my coding again that is angering Firefox and its refusing to show my updates. Are they necessary? I'm afraid that if I delete a few of them where I don't think they are needed I'll have some more problems. ugh. I have a site that is rather large with several pages and files. It is an internal site for the company I work for. Some of the people who send me content to put on the site want to be able to make these updates themselves. None of them know much, if any, HTML or CSS. Is there any tool out there that can make it possible for them to updtate the site without adding a bunch of unecessary code to what is already there? I was looking into CMS applications (this was suggested to me last time I posted about this), but they seem to be applications that you have to build the site with, rather than take a site that already exists and modify. Any resources I can find on this subject are extremely specific about what they consider "printer-friendly", and they don't address my issue. It seems to be browser specific, but I want to get rid of whatever extra is printed in the top and bottom margins. Printed from IE, the top margin contains the page title and page information, while the bottom margin contains the URL and date. Printed from Firefox, the top margin contains the title and URL, and the bottom margin contains the page info and date. I don't want any of this - how would I disable it? Thanks. Hi Guys. My website contains a lot of text, and its continually printed by clients as it includes pricing etc. At the moment my pricing page is 4 pages of paper, however I wish to be a touch kinder to mother nature and be a bit more eco-friendly so I have created a document with all the pricing on one page which I have saved as a PDF file. I would like to add a link on my website to "Printer Friendly Version" which would link to the PDF and would bring up a print dialog box. What coding would I need to do this? I think it may very well be Java but I'm not the brightest when it comes to this Any help appreciated! I hope this all made sense! A customer gave me a Word doc that they want turned into a printer friendly web page. I understand that there are tons of ways to do this but I really want the answer to the subject. What i'm referring to is a form that someone can print from the browser and "fill in the blanks" on the page where there are "underscores". My question is how to code those underscores. I tried manipulating the <hr> tag but it's putting way too much space in between each <hr>. I've already coded a "fill in the blank" line using <u> nbsp;</u> but that looks very messy. I have a website that was in cold fusion, i am changing it to html/css. So i sliced it up and everything is good except the area i need to be dynamic for wordpress. Only half is stretching. Hello, I am using a loop to dynamically generate buttons using the <button> tag. The value for this button is populated using a variable. When I click on one of these buttons, I want the content of the button to be displayed on the text field. But, because it is in a loop and the because the value is a variable only the value of the 1st button comes in and then disappears from the text field. The javascript I am trying out to populate the text field is : function passButtonValue() { poitem= document.getElementById("poitem"); hiddenField = document.getElementById("hiddenField"); hiddenField.value = poitem.innerHTML; } I am using ABAP for getting the values and running the loop How can I reprogram it to overcome this problem? Thanks! I have 10 rows compose of 3 textbox per row. After pressing submit button, they are post to the next page to a table. But my problem is if only 3 rows have data the other rows is still shown in a table but blank with borders. So I want my table to show the rows who only have data |
