Does anyone here know how to do it? Similar TutorialsMy sticky footer now floats in the middle of the page after i declared a doc type. Okay, I know that this problem is going to be really really easy, but I forgot how to do it. I use to own an older website and forgot the code. Anyways, I only know how to describe it. When I minimize the screen, it is minimizing the whole thing and collapsing it making the iframes smaller and the text fit into a smaller space. Most websites have a code (i don't know what it is) so that when someone minimizes their browser, it just makes the browser smaller and not the actual page. Here's what it looks like: http://www.freewebs.com/noeylani94/index.htm Try minimizing that and see how it looks. It collapses the whole page right? Can someone tell me the code how to fix it? Thanks =D I'm designing this site http://www.vom.com/graphico the opening page looks just fine in Safari, Mozzilla, Internet Explorer for OS 9 in Mac Internet Explorer in OSX Mac, Firefox on both Mac and PC but the table in the bottom frame will not line up with the table in the top frame using Internet Explorer for PC. There have been numerous other problems also such as paragraphs turning into 2 word colums etc, but only when viewing in Internet Explorer on the PC. It just drives me nuts. This is very simple html coding. I'd love to get the opening page right as it will be the template for all other pages. I'm having a <table><th>... problem. The font is always bold even thow i'm using a CSS style and i don't set it to bold. How can i avoid this? Thank you! Hi My site is http://paulinebooth.com.au/ In IE8 it does not display the body. The site displays correctly in Firefox. I have validated the code using W3C Markup Validation Service. Can anyone help? hi, I am facing a a problem in setting background color for my web page. I have defined body as below in CSS : BODY { BACKGROUND: #4d662c } In IE7 it looks as desired (light bottle green)..In FF and Opera also it is acceptible. But IE6 displays it as dark green color. Can anybody suggest me a solution to make the color appearance same throughout all the browsers? Regards, html_jaas www.esseveeforum.be/sv/ i tought this site was looking good until i tested it in IE6 :s -> there's no background in the iframe -> there are scrollbars -> the spacer appears twice + the content doesn't stretch with the inserted text, i have an iframe which leads to 'home.htm', when there's much content in that file the site doesn't stretch with it Can anyone plz help me? and it once again has been proven IE SUCKS! Edit: i also placed it under CSS cos it could be a CSS problem aswell. Ok, I'm at wits end here. I have a page that is using two <ul> elements, with a few <li> elements in each. The layout works great in IE6, FireFox, and Safari. IE7 on the other hand is NOT cooperating. The problem is that IE7 seems to be "clipping off" the bottom of the <li> elements. It's hard to explain so here is a link: http://www.stovenet.com/index.php Look at the part of the page that is in the top-right corner. You will see the following: "Login Register Search Help" "Login" and "Register" each have an image to the left of them, which is placed there using css. The images will have he bottoms cut off. Also, there is css code that creates an orange bottom border when you hover over each of these elements, it does not show in IE7. Look at the same page in FF or Safari and it is perfect. IE6 looks ok but the images "bounce" when hovered over. If anybody can lend a hand I'd really appreciate it. I tried for hours to fix this and I am just coming up short. Whenever I try to send a PM it is telling me I need to wait over a million seconds, and it never goes away.. Help? Reference: http://jlmechanicals.com/index.php So if you use IE 8 or FF, page loads as it should. Now, in IE 7: If you look in between the red and gray boxes, you will notice that there is a horizontal double gradient (that gradient is absent above and below the red boxes). The horizontal double gradient is set as the background for the <body> tag with repeat-y. Now, you need to look REALLY CLOSELY, in IE 7 only, at the very very bottom of the page, you will notice that the horizontal gradient produced by the background image for <body> is there (if you don't see it look closely, it can blend in really well with the bottom toolbar of internet explorer depending on what your color scheme is). Bottom margin for <body> is set to 0, and all other browsers obey except IE 7. So how do I fix this in IE 7? Thanks! Hi Could some one please have a look at the code for this site for me as it displays perfectly in IE6/7 but is so far off the mark in firefox, not tried any others. http://www.scottishconsumercredit.com/_dev_colin I can't see where I am going wrong thanks im completely new to this so forgive me.. this is my test code.. how do i get one div next to another? i want my icons, media, fashion etc.. .JPG on top of each other next to my welcome note.. this is my code Quote: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body> <div align="center" id="navigation"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/news.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/anastacia.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/fanzone.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/graphics.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/site.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/internet.jpg" width="86" height="15" /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/refresh.jpg" width="86" height="15" /></div> <div align="center"><br /> </div> <div align="center" id="banner"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/bannerp1.jpg" width="720" height="133" /> <br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/bannerp2.jpg" width="720" height="63" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/bannerp3.jpg" width="720" height="146" /></div><div align="center" id="welcome"> <div align="center"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/welcome.jpg" width="213" height="143"/> </div> <div align="center" id="welcome"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/elite.jpg" width="213" height="145"/></div> <div align="center" id="welcome"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/topaffs.jpg" width="213" height="309"/></div> <div align="center" id="welcome"> <div align="center"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/disclaimer.jpg" width="213" height="229"/><br /> </div> <div align="center"><img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/icons.jpg" width="215" height="18" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/photos.jpg" width="215" height="17" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/media.jpg" width="215" height="17" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/lyrics.jpg" width="215" height="17" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/fashion.jpg" width="215" height="17" /><br /> <img src="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Callum/My Documents/verenalay/forum.jpg" width="215" height="17" /></div> </body> </html> i have a problem with my img tag i made a menubar (which is probably to big) and one of my images isn't showing i don't know where i messesed up you can veiw my site http://www.pokebomb.co.cc and try to find the problem or download it as an attachment it would help alot if you can figure out what is wrong and the site isn't 100% done (obviously) My daughter is building a website for some kind of school competition and is having a problem with how a table is displaying in IE 9. It displays properly in Chrome and FF though so I'm not sure what the problem is. Keep in mind, she's just a junior in HS and used, by all accounts, some antiquated methods in constructing the page. That said, I'm hoping someone could offer some insight into the issue. The table should be centered and the same the width of the banner and menu. For Chrome and FF, the table is centered on the page when the viewing resolution allows all the content to fit without the need for a scroll bar. On the pages where a scroll bar is needed, the table is shifted to the left to accommodate the scroll bar and thus becomes off-centered. I was thinking that an i-frame could take care of this since the scroll bar would then be located on the inside of the i-frame. In Chrome and FF, maybe it would. However, in IE, the table is displaced to the left on all pages. Interestingly enough, the displacement is the same with and without a scroll bar. Sooooo, I would humbly ask those with knowledge of such things to offer advice or a solution to this problem. Much appreciation is extended in advance. Here is the link to the site: http://www.newtonyouth.zxq.net Hello every1! I have a noob question (I guess). Just starting to build my first site Code: <table> <tr> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> <table> The thing is, both elements height <td></td> is depending on the content, which may vary, I cannot specify height in the code. how to make the second element <td> display at the same height as the first one. If the content of the first has 100px and the second only 50px i want them to be both 100. Hope U understand sorry 4 my english. |
