HTML - How Do I Write This Using The Get Or Post Method?

Hello all mates!

I am working with my forum trying to properly edit the html for the posts so that they will display any custom script/html of my choice. I want this to appear in ONLY the first post in every thread. I am also trying to find out how to make a bot that automatically posts another second post in every thread, with my own custom scripts/html. At the moment I am trying to add some adsense ads this way.

What I am looking for is two things:

1 - How to get the adsense ad aligned to either right or left of the text within the first post.
2 - How to get an adsense bot autopost an ad as post number 2 in any thread (including being applied to all threads already existing)

I am using IPB3. I previously used Adsense Bot for IPB2, and that worked fine, but it is not supported for IPB3. It uses the Universal Mod Installer, and in IPB3 there is a new "hook" feature to ass custom mods etc, but I do not know how to alter the code for the Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 so I am trying to get it done from scratch by adding codes directly into the templates. If anyone know how to configure / modify the old Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 that would be great of course, so I am attaching it here just in case someone wants to take a look at it and its documentation and scripts.

But primarily I am looking for the two mentioned features, one is how to get the script running in ONLY the first post of every thread - at the moment I got it running, but it is global and implements into all posts not only the first.

I also have figured out how to make a script appear, such as an ad, between posts, but not after ONLY the first post, nor how to make a bot that posts a post just like any member, which is what I am really looking for when it comes to that part.

This works perfectly for adding my desired custom script embedded within the posts. The problem is that it gets embedded in ALL posts and not only the first as I would want. Here is a link to my forum for an example on how it looks:

I know I have to edit/add some code regarding post counts etc to configure it to only affect the first post - my question is how to do that?

And as seen, the second post shows the ad as well, here I would want a bot to post a post containing another ad - between the first and third post of every thread (which will be standard members posts).

I have messed my brain with this for more than a week now trying different things, looking around at forums, googling, trying scripts and so on, mods etc, but as of yet have not found the solution to these things for IPB3.

Any help here would be extremely greatly appreciated and I'll buy you a beer if you're ever around my part of the world! :p

please note, that those values are changed on each page refresh (that is not a problem).

the problem is, that I don't know from where to get those red values after username,password, secondary password, captcha..; also that values are changed as well on each page refresh.

I need a DataBase Software or some other way that can collect E-Mail and personal information from subscribers in a HTML/CSS Website i'm building.

This program or method must also have good marketing features like sending batch E-Mails, images and many things.


I would really appreciate your feedback.

I am looking for the most efficient way to put text over a picture. I have a background image that i want to place text over that has to stay in the same spot and same size relative to the image that it is on top of.

There are a couple ways i can think to do it.
1. Would be to use an iframe where i want the text to be placed
2. Use css to position the image and the text relative to one another.

I am not as familiar with method number 2. If anyone has any ideas on the most efficient way to do this that would be great!

This will be my first website, aside of simple projects from my school class.

A friend of mine has a website that is currently already up an running. He would like the site completely re-done, as he moved his company, has new offers, etc.

Is the best way to do it, to re-write/edit from scratch, or to use a free website builder? I have beginners html/css/Javascript writing knowledge, and have been searching online when I need help.

Let's say he already has a website called www.5star.com

If I use a free website builder, will I be able to transfer all that to his domain name he already has so it doesnt become something like www.freewebsite/hostme/5star.com ? He is getting the FTP info from the guy who originally made his site.

Hi, I'm new to xml. I have a cgi application which writes out a html page. Now I need to display the page with xml tag. So my cgi code takes an input, and writes out

If I save the ouput to a file test.xml, it displays

This is the display I want. How to get this display by calling that cgi program?

Hello all, I am very new to HTML and PHP coding so could you please bear with me.

All I am trying to do is write a string to a text file, and I have tried many examples. Alot of them seem to be similar to this code and it doesn't seem to want to work...

What I do is I put this code in Notepad, save it has hello.html and I then open it in firefox. I then check the file and its still empty, then I open in it Internet Explorer and the same thing happens.

Ok I'm still really new to HTML with no bad habits & would like to use a program that is really easy to use & geared toward function-ability.

I've been using notepad for my HTML

I would prefer to steer away from DreamWeaver as I dont plan on using a WYSIWYG

So what are my other options for great programs to write HTML in?

I sliced my site in Photoshop and imported it to Dreamweaver. The table is correctly in the center of the page like I want and everything looks good.

I have around 20 different slices in my desing and I want turn some of them into "background" so I can write over the image that's inside that part of the table.

I also want to turn every table that are showing the background image so they act like the background image (I think this is done same way). I mean, when you right click properties from the tables now, it shows the url to the .jpg file, I want that it shows the site url (.com).

I just started writing code, and currently use notepad++. I then use XAMPP to see my code in action.

Any better free programs to do all this?

Super new to this, and these are the ways my teacher gave.

is it possible to configure my htaccess and htpsswd file to require authentication if you want to write to a .txt file using php, but let anyone simply read the data off of a dynamically linked swf? i have a flash site, and the text is dynamically loaded in with external .txt files, and i have some .php files where you can go to update the site that pulls the info off the .txt's to display in a form, then you can edit and submit the changes to be written to the file. thanks for the help!
