HTML - Change Sites Language

I just made my website - http://www.lucaschu.com to showcase my film work.

I'm know little to nothing about HTML and have just modified someone elses.

The left sidebar says RSS and ARCHIVE. I want to replace RSS and ARCHIVE with ABOUT and CONTACT.

So in my HTML I found this:

The above HTML seemed to be controlling my sidebar so I modified it to this:

I was trying to make the ABOUT icon link to lucaschu.com/about & the CONTACT icon to lucaschu.com/contact

The CONTACT was successful but the ABOUT failed. The word ABOUT just didn't show up. I suspect it has to do with the RSS? Help me to do this!

Ok, I am building my own site and I am getting hung up on little glitches that I don't know how to fix. Posting on this forum is not effective enough. I want to hire a service that will answer and help me fix the glitches on my site. Any suggestions?

I have a general question. I need a single landing page for 2 different domains. I know, it's a long story.

Is there a better or even best way to set this up? Right now, I've simply copied the landing page and uploaded it to both sites where it splits into an "Enter Here" for one site, and an "Enter Here" for the other site.

When done, the plan is to NOT point both domains to the same index page but keep them totally separate.

I just would like to know if this is the right way to go about it and if not, what would be the best way?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, here's my thing... I'm not a professional web designer or anything. I only do websites for myself and friends if they need. I'm more old school with it, meaning I type out the HTML codes myself mostly. I learned about webdesigning back in like 1997 when I first got on the internet. So now i either make very basic websites in photoshop or I use templates. I see soo many nice websites being created now and i really want to learn alot of the advanced stuff that people are using to design their websites now, especialy these fan made websites for these singers and actors.

I'm thinking of making a mobile friendly version of my karaoke show site. Mainly I'd like to offer a mobile friendly version of my songlist.

I was wondering what the main differences are between a mobile site like this:

I don't have a smart phone yet, so can't check myself, but will be getting one soon to aid in the site development.

Does anyone know of a good tut on making mobile sites that fit the screen of a mobile?

I have been approached by a company for a job which im not 100% sure of a solution on.

There is a company already set up in Greece and they have a site up and running already. A new comapny is partnering with them in the UK and they want to set up a UK version of the site.

The problem i have is the UK company need to have there contact details and other information on the main nav links and the greece site needs there information.

before i go any further here is the site and i have split it into 2 frames on the image to help you understnad what i need to try and acheive.

Frame 1 at the top has a static navigation so this can be edited on teh UK version.

Frame 2 at teh bottom is run through a CMS so teh links are not static.

What i need to try and acheive for the UK site is the following.

The information and links in frame one needs to be controlled by the UK comapny.

The information in frame 2 needs to be controlled by the Greece comapny.

Is there anyway to set up 2 frames on the UK site. Frame 1 will be set up so the UK company can control teh links and information. Frame 2 would need to display wants stored on the Greece version.

I've been looking at this for a few days now with both the UK comapny and Greece company and were trying to come up with a solution so that the UK site has all UK information from the top navigation and the Greece version has all the information relevent to them.

The idea with breaking the site up this way is so that the UK site get the contacts about the properties if people find the UK site.

Any ideas or other suggestions or if anyone knows straight away this would not be possible for any reason please let me know.

I'm new to the forum, and new to website building (though, as you will see, I can hardly even call it website building). I started building a site on google sites, and I'm having a strange issue in firefox.

The page works as I would like it to in Chrome and IE, but the dropdown menu doesn't appear in Firefox. The services tab should have a dropdown menue, but it never appears in Firefox. However, when you click to view that iframe in a new window, the dropdown works fine in firefox. So, that's why i think it's an issue with the iframe. I've checked the z-index, and that seems to be set fine (though I'm not too familiar with it, so I could be wrong)

For those not familiar with google sites, you can't just paste in any code, but you can do almost anything through an xml file that functions through an iframe (i think that's the right terminology)

As the topic states, I don't know exactly what language I'm looking for. I believe I've accomplished what I'm trying to do using embedded tables in the past with some CSS scripting, but it is not working, and I'm getting frustrated.

Essentially, I designed the site in Photoshop CS3, sliced it up, and now in one cell I'm needing a repeatable background so that whenever the content is entered into the site, the borders extend down the side of the site. I could re-cut the picture, but I'm trying to avoid doing so if at all possible. The kicker is that, also in this same cell, I have an image that I need to use as a background that DOESNT repeat. When you scroll down the page, you see this image in the cell, but as you go down and down and down on the site, the other background previously mentioned is the one that repeats. Is there anyway to accomplish this?

I've tried creating a table within that cell and using the background I need to not repeat in it while the cell beneathe it used the background that repeated, but to no avail.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and would like to apologize in advance for the "general" nature of this question. I am a new moderator for another Forum type website. The website has for years had no image upload feature and had users place in their posts external links to free photo hosting sites.

Recently, the website added a feature to upload images directly onto their server, allowing them to be locally archived rather than remotely linked to the other photo hosting website.

Now, 99.9 % of the Forum users have never purchased prints from the photo hosting site, including myself. Though the host site has never sent me any notification on my account, the older picture links on my posts have ceased to work, displaying only red X's instead. This is now beginning to happen all over the Forums, creating a slow errosion of images from the older posts.

It would be ideal to create some type of program or utility to "saveas", then convert all of the older images to the new local hosting, thus eliminating the problem. This would solve the problem for the newer eternally linked images - unfortunately the older ones are probably lost.

Does anyone have any ideas or sugestions on this? (I did a search but was unable to find anything)
