HTML - Nedd Help (html Linking Of 2 Pages)

I have just recently been given a site and need some help the site is called www.prizeking.co.cc and I have a question,

My site is scripted in php i use a ftp client to upload to my host,When you click a button to go to a different page e.g.(login) it says its at that page in the url but everything is the same as the homepage... ill show you how the buttons are scripted:

Is that right also i would like to know how to script some text and a picture into that white box.

Hi all.

I've been updating a website that now has a list that is getting to big and takes up abit of scrolling.

Can anybody direct me to code that allows me create drop down boxes for each catagory that lists the html pages. When the user selects the page from within the drop down box it either goes straight to the page or they need to click "go".

First off, I would classify myself as having a basic working knowledge of HTML, but I'm far from experienced. I use Expressions (I know, first mistake), and do at least 50% of the work in the code view window.

I'm having a problem right now linking a PPS document. I made the PPT and saved it as a PPS, and linked it using
<a href="images/anamaited.pps" target="_blank">
When I preview the website on my computer and click the link the document opens in a new explorer window as a PPS, but when I publish the site and click the link it downloads the document and opens PPT.

I don't want visitors opening my presentation in PPT, is there anyway to have the pps display in a browser window or do I have to convert the PPS into flash?

If I need to display it as a different file type, I need to do it for free, any suggestions?

-edit- wanted to clairfy when I click the link on the live site, it actually opens MS PowerPoint, not a new browser window as the tag specifies.

I am currently working on a webpage that will primarily be viewed on an Ipad. I am currently linking images with the following code.

<a href="images/why/photo_large.jpg"><img src="images/photo_thumb.jpg" width="139" height="92" border="0" /></a>

This links the tumbnails to a larger image in the same window. Currently the only way to go back to the original page is to click the back arrow in the corner of the image. Is there someway to make it so the new image is a back arrow? I would like the user to be able to click anywhere on the new image and it take them back to the original page. If this is possible any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I guess the first thing to do is give you a link to my site: http://theinstinct.net. Now if you notice, on the left hand side we have a Navigation Bar and a few other small things. Lately we've (myself and a friend work on the site) been editing and updating it a lot and we realized that we'd have to make the same changes on every single page.

So my question for you is, is there a way to execute a separate HTML file inside another? Like you can link to a CSS file or to a JavaScript file, can you do that with an HTML file? Thanks for the help!

How do I create a link from my subdirectory index.html page to the one in my root folder?

I was wondering how i can link to my script file instead of having it stored in the head.

At the moment i am only using javascript and i dont like it in the head because it looks messy.

My site has 2 columns and the script simply makes sure colum 1 and column 2 always have the same height to retain the layout because i'm using background images.

I have saved the script in as scripts.js and it looks like this.

Ok now back in my html head where i would usually put the actual script i have put:

I was hoping this would work but it doesn't seem to be working. When i preview the page locally in IE6 it pops up to say something has been blocked which i guess is the javasript. Maybe i need to upload to web server and test but wanted to post here to see if i did it correct in the first place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am still new to the web page world, but the website I originally created (in japanese) was passed on to a programmer. He did a lot of "upgrades" to the site so he says, but he left. Now I am in charge again of re-modeling the site.

The problem is I am trying to figure out why there are so many dead links. I have looked up and down the server, but can't find anything.

Ok before I confuse anyone else here is what I am talking about. For example this page that I originally made : Code:

cannot be found but if I take of the end: http://www.discoveryfirm.com/tokushu/ the page is there.

Now I am trying to fix a lot of dead links, but I cannot figure out what the programmer did to the site. I am still new to all the high-tech features in the web world. Could somebody please explain.

I have a script that prints a page and that works great. Can anyone tell me if this can be done please:

When printing a html page from the internet it puts the:

Pages Name
Http Link
Page Number
Date

around the edges of the page. Is there away of removing this so it just prints the content nothing else?

I've managed to hide certain things using CSS and its "display:none" function so i was wondering if it can be done like this or any other way?

Any help would be great

Hello everyone. I want to be able to remove the '.html' from the address one of my pages so that instead of potential customers having to type 'laurelscamera.com/photography.html' they can just type 'www.laurelscamera.com/photography'. I have seen this done on other websites, but have no idea how to go about it. Any help would be great. Thanks again.

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to remove the .htm or .html from my pages (other than my index). An example would be http://www.herrickphoto.co.uk/adults.html
I'd really like this to be www.herrickphoto.co.uk/adults
Any suggestions would really be appreciated. I am using dreamweaver to write the pages and for some reason, some of my pages end in .htm and others in .html
Not sure if that's a problem?

I'm quite new with html... so I hope my question has a simple solution:

I have the same html code on all pages... and I would like to put this in an other html file, so that all the pages just refer to that piece of code. Is that possible?

I managed to do this with a script and with the stylesheet, but not with html.

Hi all. I've implemented an Image on my .html page using the following source code:

but I get a big X where the image should be. I've also tried just using "/images/logo.jpg" as the src, but that doesnt work either. My pages are all online by the way, and are not stored locally on my Hard Disk. All my pages are in www.myURL.com/pages/ and the images are in www.myURL.com/images/.

Any tips? Thanks
