HTML - Beginner's Question: Html5 Semantics Issue
My Html code is as follows:
HTML Code:

Services - Wellington Florida Lawn Salon and Service

Wellington Lawn Salon

Services

Pictures

Contact Us

History

Testimonials

Services available:

General and special lawn maintenance

Landscaping

Sod installation

Irrigation

Installation

Repair

Tree Trimming

When I run the code through the HTML5 Oulliner I receive this: 1.)Wellington Lawn Salon 1.)Untitled Section 2.)Services available: 1.)General and special lawn maintenance 2.)Landscaping 3.)Sod installation 4.)Irrigation 1.)Installation 2.)Repair 5.)Tree Trimming My question is about the "untitled section". What part of the code is "untitled"? Why? How does it relate to your SEO? Also any other semantic markup tips, in general or specifically in regards to this example, are greatly appreciated. Similar TutorialsHey everyone, I just started learning HTML and I am working my way through "Head First HTML With CSS & XHTML". My question is why does the text in the
tags show up as it would in
except for under "Mocha Cafe Latte"? Code:

Starbuzz Coffee Beverages

Starbuzz Coffee

House Blend - $1.49

A smooth, mild brend of coffees from Mexico, Bolivia and Guatemala.

Mocha Cafe Latte - $2.35

Espresso, steaming milk and chocolate syrup.

Cappucino - $1.89

A mixture of espresso, steamed milk and foam.

Chai Tea - $1.85

A spicy drink made with black tea, spices, milk and honey.

Thanks in advance. Greetings and good cheer... I have what I imagine to be an extremely basic question. My href codes doesn't work in firefox. They work fine in IE. Sample code: 5.20.04 Tyson
Is the problem in the "_blank" ? The "
" Is it somewhere else? All assistance greatly appreciated, and duly thanked in advance! ~p.l. How can I reuse templates to build my web site instead of copy paste the top in each single page ? Is it possible only using an authoring software such as dreamweaver ? thanks Hello everyone, I am newbie here. Can someone please tell me what is the HTML code for changing a color when my pointer point to the specific area? For example, when I point my pointer to the "Go back back one page" of Mozilla Firefox web browser, the color is changing from dark green into bright green. Thank you very much in advance Ahyoo Any way to make the potential links at the top and bottom of this page look a bit smoother, or fitting. Any help or suggestions in greatly appriciated. Code:

Menu

Catering

  Comments/Suggestions

Directions

Menu Catering Comments/Suggestions Directions

Hi... I am using an application that delivers data in the form of HTML tags (example: ^vst843^). I use these tags in an HTX file which writes to an HTML web page. I'd like to use Ajax to update the tag values without refreshing the page, but from what I understand I must write in Javascript to use Ajax. Am I right about this? If so how can I use the HTML tags coming from my application in this way? Thanks. i have a website, http://www.what-the-news.com, and i am trying to get my medium rectangle ad to show up just to the right of my videos. Everytime i put in the align right code it drops down below the video like the leaderboard banner, which is currently there. Here are the codes i'm using:

Any help will be huge, Mark Hi, I know the label element is for associating a text label with a control, and that when you click it the control gets focus. But is that its only purpose? Is it supposed to be used for describing a more general semantic relationship. In particular can/should/is it intended to be used to associate key value pairs to describe a semantic relationship sort of like

? For example say I have a listing of key values pairs from say a config file. Should I do this: screenheight:7560 I dont know, maybe I should use

and re-style with CSS? Or maybe thats what the ":" is for(!) and I dont need to express this in HTML (Thinking about the boundary between presentation and semantics makes my crazy, its very fuzzy in my opinion). Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks. Hi, I'm having an issue with Firefox. I create the page graphics in Photoshop CS4 and slice it up. Then save the html and images into Dreamweaver where I add rollovers and a video clip. It looks perfect in IE and Chrome... But lines go across the screen in Firefox near the video. Why does Firefox do this? And is there a way to fix it without ruining how it looks in IE and Chrome? The site has been up for a year now and nobody has said anything or complains, but it drives me crazy and it does this whenever I try to make a new site this way with a video on it. I used Firebug, and when I change a
value it fixes that area and makes another area look even worse. How can this be fixed? Thanks! Heya peeps. I have a problem I'm trying to overcome as shown below (From another thread): I'm in the process of building a website where audio can be purchased and downloaded. I want each file to allow a preview, but would rather the preview occur on the same page, rather than load up a blank page with a quicktime plugin splodged in the middle. Is there a way of doing it? All I want is a basic play/pause/stop button. To control a piece of sound. It seems that I may be able to achieve this using HTML 5, but I'm worried that people won't be able to read it with there browsers. Am I mistaken? Thanks Hey folks, I have a background in traditional enterprise software, and I am trying to gain expertise on newer technologies. I will greatly appreciate, if you could help me understand, when to use HTML5, when to use Flash and when to use Silverlight. If you could point to some tools etc that will be helpful. Thanks for your help hi everyone, Can anyone provide me canvas tutorials? I am keep to update more knowledge on html5 and its tags. If you can provide me related information. Thankyou. Hi, Im tryin to use html5 video so my video can be watched by most browsers and cell phone OSs. Having an issue. the link working in Safari (on win) but not in FireFox http://beerdiaries.com/html5/html5.html any idea why? thanks Hi, I am doing my final year project and am comparing two technologies (HTML5 -JavaScript and Flash -ActionScript). It would be greatly appreciated if you could take a few minutes to answer my survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CLVC23Z Thank You i have to draw ball on canvas in html 5 depending on the input given by user in a textbox. ex: if a user enter 5 in a textfield, 5 ball should draw on canvas. Greetings, Can some one explain me the difference between HTML4 and HTML5? what is the content management system, and what are the benefits of CMS? Do you heard the word Joomla? i heard somewhere this is a war.. can I ask (not to familiar with html5) what about html5 encroaches on flash? what new elements/features? If it does compensate i know Jobbs will be pushing the hell out of it (html5) I was quite surprised to discover that a lot browsers are already starting to support HTML5... While the support isn't comprehensive, and it isn't universal - it does seem to at least work reasonably well - at least for those elements that are not tied to media: http://www.brucelawson.co.uk/2009/re...ml-5-wai-aria/ I'm already thinking about making use of HTML5 in new projects... I quite like the idea of
and other elements. Hi all, I have a web site that has some html tags and it works fine in Chrome and Firefox, however in IE8 and IE9 it just won't load any resources (stylesheets and javascript) and it gets completely broken. Does anyone know what the problem is? The doctype and html tag are declared as following: Code:
and the content type: Code: I have a client I did an website for, the homepage has an Adobe Edge animation and it works fine except of course for non HTML5 browsers like IE8. So I was looking for a solution like a user agent where when the site is accessed by a non HTML 5 browser the div tag on the page where the edge animation is would be replaced with a .jpg I have looked at HTML boilerplate which I think could do this but I'm not a coder so if someone can point me in the right direction here I would appreciate it.
