HTML - Adding More Webpages To Your Domain
Hey
Just a quick question i'm new to creating websites and html, i've written the code for the website I was wondering how you add all the pages to your domain. ex. you have yourdomain.com how would you add yourdomain.com/page1 yourdomain.com/page2 and have it go to those pages? It's correct in HTML and then when I upload it and click on it, instead of going to www.google.com for example, it goes to www.mydomain.com/www.google.com instead. It's automatically adding my domain name to the beginning of my outside links. I already contacted GoDaddy and they said it must be something in the script, not one of their settings. So, how in the world do I fix this? I can't figure it out. I'd like visitors to my web site to automatically be taken to the home page when they enter my domian name. For example, when they type in thedomainame.com the will automatically see thedomainame.com/homepage. Is this done by using htaccess? Can you someone explain this to me? How it works and how to set it up? Or how do I change the home page name to be the index page? Right now it's domainname.com/folder/index thanks. This is something that I would expect every web developer has gone through when there at the point of almost finishing their website. I am almost done my website which has liek 4 sections meaning 4 pages Home, Downloads, Hacks and Info. These pages look about the same but just have different content. My question is what if I add a new image in to my websites and that image needs to be on all 4 pages does I have to open an edit the source all all 4 pages or is there some other option which can save a lot of my time. I have adobe dreamweaver if I can do it with that let me know! I have a friend who is going to update the news but I dont really want her messing with files so is there a way to easily make a page that has a text box where she can enter text then press submit to add it to the main page? When I click on Home from either pricing or contact page it's not moving. My code is attached Thanks I need to know how to put www on a domain but not on a subdomain. If I have the redirect on to have the www, the sub doesn't work. If I take it off, I subdomain works but no cool www, lol. Also be noted, a noob most likely knows more than me, lol. Greetings everyone. I have a web page entirely made in tables, and I am trying to get it to automatically resize vertically. Hi I have codes which are the same in a few HTML files. I'm wondering if there's an easier way to include the codes in every file without having to copy and paste them. I'm looking at a similar way, like ASP files, to include similar codes in asp files. First post here. Hope someone can help. I need to embed a table into hundreds of websites. the data in the table changes frequently. I want to be able to alter the table in one place and it changes it on every website. What I've done, and it works well in Firefox, is create a separate html file with the table which resides on the server. Then I use this code in the host website <object data=http://www.web-source.net type="text/html" width="600" height="400"> <embed src=http://www.web-source.net width="600" height="400"> </embed> Error: Embedded data could not be displayed. </object> It will not register in IE though. Works fine in Firefox. Any ideas as to how to solve this or a better easier way to do this?? Thanks in advance. Rich I am in a band and I'm trying to figure out how to display reoccuring show/ gig information in a side menu on everypage on our website. Right now I am retyping the show list on 25 different pages when ever we get a new show. I think iFrames would be a good solution, but I don't really want to work with iframes as it doesn't view for some people. Unless anyone knows a new version of iframes that works fine for all browsers. You can head to our page http://www.apothys.us if you want to see what I'm talking about. Also, on firefox, the lineup of the graphics are shifted on some pages. It looks fine on IE. Can anyone bring some incite on this problem? HELLO ALL! I'm new here. Thank you in advanced. I have a dthml menu on my main page. I would like to apply this same menu to all my other web pages with making one update. Currently I have the same code pasted and and script on all my product pages. If I have any changes to make to the menu I have to go and update all 20+ pages with the changes of the drop down menu. on each of my product pages is there any way to reference this one dthml menu to use...I'm hoping this is making sense? I'm using dreamweaver CS3 and I used Sothink's DHTML MENU creator. I'd like it that when I make a change to the dhtml menu it would apply to all my product pages. Thank you Chris how do i change the name the browser gives my site, becuase it just reads untitled document in the tab and top of the window. any help would be greatly appreciated I just upgraded all my .HTML pages to .PHP . But now I noticed that when my pages pull up in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They still show the old .HTML links?? When they click on the webpages from the search engines results you get error 404 page cannot be found. How can I update the search engines or add code to my page so the search engines will reflect the new .PHP pages. Also it's been over a good week since I've update to .PHP Thank you all in advanced!! Hi everyone, I just had my web pages removed from Yahoo! Geocities recently, and I'm looking to find a new reliable web hosting service. I know I can find a list provided on any search engine, but the one I've chosen to sign up for (fateback.com) has been nothing but difficulty so far. For some crazy reason, everytime I try to upload a page to their server, I keep getting an error message stating that I don't have permission to upload to the directory. I've tried multiple times to contact their customer service, but I haven't gotten any responses. Additionally, I tried to send test emails to addresses which they said I could use for my domain, but those emails keep getting sent back. So, obviously this fateback.com service isn't very good at all. Also, I need to utilize one of those free web hosting services until I can get the site off the ground as I really don't have the money to put out for my site yet. Can anyone help me to find a good web hosting service for my site? I would really appreciate anyone's insight here... That first site you gave me was chock-full of some good information, and has helped me to do some really cool things with my pages. Example: The main page is at http://www.sub.domain.com the included page is to be http://www.domain.com/headers/header1.html Well i want to buy a domain but i dont know where to buy it.. i need a good one but cheap, can someone post some links... thank U for the help On my website (www.mysite.com), when a user clicks on the register link, a new window opens that takes him to another domain (www.myreg.com) where he can register. When he's finished registering, the myreg.com window is closed. The requirement is that when he's finished registering, I need the myreg.com page to set a cookie somehow for www.mysite.com . Which I have found some, but I seem to get a more straight forward answer when the people answering my question know my exact situation. So anyways: I have my bands website: www.aqueousband.com And let's say that I acquire www.aqueous.com. I have a hosting plan with godaddy for www.aqueousband.com and all of my files are on that hosting plan and I want to keep that domain name. So it would make the most sense to just make www.aqueous.com redirect to www.aqueousband.com ... right? So how would I do this? I was reading about 301 redirect, am I on the right track? I started to think, if I just bought a domain name I would just have the domain name and no hosting. So how do I put an index file on a domain name that has no hosting attached to it? There's gotta be a way! Hello, i just registered a domain name but have one issue Im using freehostia for my website uploading and got a .com addresss from go daddy. now ive changed the dns servers on the .com to reflect it to the freehostia where my site it. I noticed that the .com adress when i click on it shows the path of the index in the address bar like ex www.etcetc.com/site/welcome.html how can i not have that "site/welcome.html show up in the address bar? thanks |
