HTML - Best Way To Achieve This Without Flash
Quick question, what kind of html5 coding would be needed to achieve this seemingly easy effect. Does someone know a tut i can start off with? Been googling but cant seem to land on the right one.

So its detected to be there but some how doesnt pick up the content of the (swf.). And I have to be honest I really don't know much about html at all.... Hope someone can help me.. Btw, if this is posted the wrong place im very sorry but i could'nt find anything about javascript. Hey, Im making a site for a client and we've hit a dead end one one thing i particular The whole site we've made is HTML and Images only. The only flash element is the Navigation bar at the top. With out making 2 dedicated flash/non flash sites, how do we make it so that if flash is not detected on the viewers computer then the flash navigation will not show, but instead show a java script rollover nav bar? I was thinking maybe have the flash nav in a div that floats over the image nav, and if flash is not detected it would disappear...? help would be super appreciated. -Mongoose for some reason there is a page on my site that will not load its flash > it will load it when i browse to that page on the computer hosting it (this one) but it wont load on any other computer, including one i have on LAN (inside a router) can anyone tell me why and how to fix this? by the way i do have flash files on my homepage of my site, but this particular flash wont load its just a white box I'm making a website that has a flash header that serves as a menu bar. I use the exact same flash header on each page in this site. Is there a way to code this so the flash header doesn't have to 'reload' each time you move to another page within the site? I'd know how to do it using iFrames, but I'd rather not use that on this site. Is there another way? It just seems useless for this flash to reload on each page you move to in the site. Cache makes things so that the reload time is super quick, but I'd like it to not have to reload at all, if possible. Maybe this is a JavaScript thing? I don't know. For some reason, I can't find out how to do that. I have a swf movie in the homepage of my website. In Firefox and Safari, the window is extended down a few pixels to allow for the complete video, which I think is fine. In Explorer, however, it simply cuts the video off. I am starting a website for my new business, it was all going well until i uploaded the website, and when i went to look at it, at the very bottom of the page it said i need to update my flash. In IE7, 6, and 5 and only in IE7, 6, and 5 my flash navigation menu jumps around a little bit from page to page (no more than half of an inch or so per page, minor, but irritating). Right now the image only scales as the page shrinks horizontally. When the page shrinks vertically the image does not change size. The page is made up of two flash movies, one for the images and one for the text and arrows. In dreamweaver I have set the image flash movie (the one on the left) to scale to 100% width and 100% height. I have set the text movie to be a fixed size. If anyone could explain how to get my image movie to scale as the browser window shrinks both horizontally and vertically I would greatly appreciate it. thanks |
