HTML - Code Not Showing Up In Browser
Hello,
I went to make a change on someones website. I was using a different program than I normally do. Anyway... for some reason a bunch of the code isn't showing up. Here's the website: https://www.villagetoyshop.com/ I normally just edit the html, but tried using komposer. I edited the code in komposer, but when I uploaded it a bunch of stuff isn't showing up. I can see it when I view source, but can't figure out why it doesn't appear in the browser. The code that isn't showing up is at the bottom and has the hours, contact info, etc... I didn't make the site and was just trying to help, but am not sure what to do. I have some basic web design knowledge, but am not an expert. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kevin P.S. I just realized there is a page on the server entitled index2.html (http://www.villagetoyshop.com/index2.html). The index.html is suppose to look similar to that. Similar TutorialsThis site: http://gmjones.org/ Displays well, apart from the black background!, in Opera and FireFox browsers but not in Microsoft's browser. The code for the search box is <li><form action="http://www.google.com/search" name="searchbox" method="get" style="padding-top: 1px;"> <input name="hl" value="en" type="hidden"> <input name="sitesearch" value="gmjones.org" type="hidden"> <input maxlength="205" size="38" name="q" value=""> <input value="SEARCH THIS SITE" name="" style="font-size: 80%; margin-left:19px;" type="submit"> </form></li> How do I get the search box to appear within the rest of the red strip, and in red? Thanks. EDIT: DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID BUT IT'S OK NOW! Hello, I am a student and working on a simple first project. All I'm doing right now is writing my code in text edit, saving it as "test.html", and dragging and dropping the file onto Safari/Firefox to view my code. Everything works when I'm at my college's computer lab, but when I'm on my own mac notebook, the files load in the browser as my code. I've tried a variety of samples and checked my preferences, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Sample code I'm using - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Simple Link Example 2</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1 ALIGN="CENTER">Creating Relative Reference Links</H> <HR> <P>Open <A HREF="practice1.html">Practice 1</A>.</P> <P> Open <A HREF="practice2.html">Practice 2</A>.</P> <P>Open <A HREF="practice3.html" TARGET="_blank"> Practice 3</A> in a new window.</P> </BODY> </HTML> Please help! I'm trying to wrap up an assignment and have been banging my head against the wall all night. Thanks! cordelia Ok I've run into this a couple different ways. I need to get the code for peoples banners so I can advertise them. But sometimes I cant get the code & its just the banner that is showing up? If I go to properties, it doesnt give me the right code to then reprint the banner on my site? Say for instance here... http://www.supercult.com/site2/banne...urbanners.html There is all of those banners for others to take & post on their sites, yet I dont know how to get the code for any of them to do so? I'm about to post something about DIVs and CSS but I'd want to know how to properly show my code in the post to make it easier for those who'll reply. Hi, Glad I found this website. I'm a novice at html. I've been reading through some unrelated posts and learned a few new things already! I am helping someone build her website (learning along the way) and ran into a display problem in Mozilla that did not with I.E. After spending many hours helping my friend with a website and learning along the way, to my horror, I find that one of the frames do not display with Mozilla. I tried looking online to solve the problem but can't find anything with the same error. I'm hoping someone can help me ... please :-) I temporarily posted the website files at http://home.comcast.net/~test_pearlyeemd/ As you can see, the left frame does not display in Mozilla, but does in I.E. I suspect it's a compatibility issue but am not sure. Then I poked around in the Mozilla browser's Tool | Error Console and it gave me an error "document.layers is undefined" ... I have no idea what this means. I really don't want to start from scratch as I've already invested so much time into what I already did. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I use blogger for my blog. Unfortunately, it does not give me the option to post the time AND date on every post, only one or the other. I chose to post the date, but I also want to know if anyone knows of an HTML code that can show the date the post was posted. If needed, my blog is http://www.freebie-link.com/. I made an html web page using mcrosoft word but i can't seem to figure out why it only shows up as code when i preview it or upload it to the web. Is there a small step im missing? I saved the document as .htm and as .txt and i tried to add doctype but i dont know what else i need to do Thanks for the help in advance here my url http://www.myspace.com/come_get_cole and heres the code HTML Code: <style>.profileInfo {display:none;}</style> <style>.friendSpace {display:none;}</style> <style>.latestBlogEntry {display:none;}</style> <style>.extendedNetwork {display:none;}</style> <style>a.text, table div font a, table div div {visibility:hidden;}</style> <style>.contactTable { display: none }</style> <style> .profileInfo td td {visibility:hidden;} .profileInfo td td.text {visibility:visible;} .profileInfo td.text a img {visibility:visible;} .profileInfo .ImgOnlineNow {visibility:transparent;} </style> <p> <center> <style>.a embed, object {filter:alpha(opacity=0.1); opacity:0.01;} td td td td embed, td td td object,td.text embed, td.text object {filter:none; opacity:none;} .interestsAndDetails {margin-top:-120px;}</style> <center> <center> </center> <style>body{background-color:FFFFFF; background-image:url(http://i41.tinypic.com/uvmt2.jpg);} div, li, p, .redtext, .redbtext, td, tr, table, .text{color: 000000; font-size: 11px; font-family: arial; font-weight: none; border: 0px; text-transform: none;} .blurbs{background-color:transparent; border:0px;} .btext, .lightbluetext8, .orangetext15, .whitetext12{color: 000000; font-size: 10px; font-family: arial; font-weight: none; border: 0px; text-transform: uppercase; } textarea {color: 000000; font-size: 7px; font-family: small fonts; font-weight: none; text-transform: uppercase; width: 175px; height: 30px;} table tr td div font{font-family: small fonts; font-size: 8px; color: 666666; padding:0px;text-transform:uppercase}</style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.profileInfo * {background-color:transparent;} table.profileInfo table, table.profileInfo {width:0px;} table.profileInfo td td.text br {line-height:0px;} span.nametext {font-family:Tahoma!important; font-size:20px!important;} table.profileInfo td td img {display:none;} table.profileInfo td.text img {display:inline;} table.profileInfo td td b {display:none;} table.profileInfo td td span.searchMonkey-mood {display:none;} table.profileInfo td td.text img.ImgOnlineNow {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } .userProfileURL {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.interestsAndDetails td.text {display:none;} table.interestsAndDetails span.lightbluetext8 {display:none;} .interestsAndDetails td {width:0px;} table.interestsAndDetails, table.interestsAndDetails td {border:0px;} table.interestsAndDetails table {background-image:url(null);} table.interestsAndDetails table {background-color:transparent;} table.interestsAndDetails td td {background-color:transparent;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.userProfileDetail {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.userProfileSchool {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.userProfileCompany {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.userProfileNetworking {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } table.blurbs td.text {display:none;} table.blurbs td td span.orangetext15 {display:none;} </style> <style> .katamari Section Manager { http://abrax.us/SectionManager } .bodyContent tr {background-color:transparent;} .bodyContent table div br {line-height:0px;} </style> <style>.clearfix {margin-top: -100px;}</style> <p> <style>.a {MySpaceGens.com - hide your comments} .friendsComments {display:none;}</style> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" height="350" width="290" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /> <param name="allowNetworking" value="internal" /> <param name="movie" value="http://static.twitter.com/flash/widgets/profile/TwitterWidget.swf" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <param name="flashvars" value="userID=28942839&styleURL=http://static.twitter.com/flash/widgets/profile/velvetica.xml" /> <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" src="http://static.twitter.com/flash/widgets/profile/TwitterWidget.swf" height="350" width="290" align="middle" wmode="transparent" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" flashvars="userID=28942839&styleURL=http://static.twitter.com/flash/widgets/profile/velvetica.xml" /> </object> hi. i would really appreciate some help here. i am totally new to designing pages but i managed to make this www.cilipi.bravehost.com . THANK YOU! regards from croatia Hello! I would really like to have the meta tags code which allows one to put a logo or icon in the browser window, right before the URL. Thanks so much! Kathy Coding with HTML + JavaScript can be daunting, especially when you find out some functions/variables available in one browser, are implemented differently in other browsers. Is there a way to make the task of developing independent code easier in terms of JavaScripting? Hi. Is there any code out there that will detect whether a visitor to a website is using a mobilephone? If they are, I want the code to automatically send them to my mobile version of my site. I'm guessing it maybe somekind of resolution detection??? The BBC website can do this. Does anybody know how? Leroy Who can answer me the question above? Thanks in advance! I have been considering using some DHTML to make an expandable/collapsable block of text.. see:: http://kilbad.com/DEVELOPMENT/expand.php This page does validate at the w3c, when set to strict, as xhtml strict (I think the code has transitional right now), which I am happy about. However, what percentage of browsers will support this feature? I don't know much about dhtml. How do you xhtml purists feel about this code in general?? Thank you so much in advance!! Brendan "Use the below code example. <input type=""button"" value=""Close this window"" onclick=""self.close()"">" Hi, When I open an HTML with my browser to see how it looks, instead of what the code should look like showing showing up, the code itself shows up. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm quite new to HTML. I use Dreamweaver CS5. This is the code I used: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"> <html> <body> <h1>My First Heading</h1> <p>My first paragraph.</p> </body> </html> I have several links on my site, all in the form of <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">mywebsite</a> How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed. Visit here and you will notice that right above music licensing, there is a little arrow like this: > My markup is clean, there is no extra closing tag anywhere, its strange. When viewing the source, you will not find it, but in firefox, when you highlight a bit of text around it and click view selection source, this comes up. HTML Code: <h1>Contact</h1> > <table border="0"> <tbody><tr> <td width="375"><h3>Music Licensing</h3> How do I remove it??? I want to display an imagw which is an Icon. When I view it with IE noi mage. When I view the page with Firefox, it works fine. Does IE require something else? Here is the code I am using. <img src=./graphics/c3.ico HEIGHT="40" WIDTH="40"> http://modyourwii.com/homebrew.html Nothing below the "Wad files" graphic shows up in IE6. In FF it shows up fine, but IE6 won't budge. Halp? |
