HTML - Html Help Needed Asap! Mouse-over & Framework Problems?
Hi all!
I've recently been doing some work revamping the website for my dad's construction company, seen here. He originally created it in Dreamweaver years back and I've been using SeaMonkey to update it. I have pretty limited HTML knowledge and this is the first time I've actually done any real form of web editing. I've done the bulk of it but I really need some advice on a couple of small problems I can't seem to figure out: 1) As you can see, on the left hand side there's a list of links that change colour on mouse-over. They seem to be working fine on all pages apart from 'testimonials'. When I click that link and arrive at the page headed 'testimonials and references', the mouse-over effect doesn't seem to be working on any of the images. I've looked at the source and tried to figure it out, but as I said, I have pretty limited knowledge and couldn't spot anything obviously wrong. 2) If you go the page entitled 'services' you'll see a large image at the top. If I do anything to the image; delete it, resize it, move it slightly in any way - the whole framework of the page goes completely out of whack. It looks fine on the Composer but testing it on Chrome shows the whole side panel of links about a mile lower than where I want them and completely out of alignment with all of the other pages. I just want to resize the image slightly so it's not to in-your-face, but not at the risk of messing up the whole page layout. I can't work this one out at all, so any help would be greatly appreciated. You might also notice the 'about us' page is the only one where the links are slightly out of alignment with the others - if anyone can work out how to change that, that would be ace. Similar TutorialsHello I'm having terrible trouble aligning my text into a layout using tables i will include a screen shot to show what im talking about. i thought i could fix it by putting valign=top in the td tag but nothing seems to be working if someone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. THanks heres the screen I need a table that has 1 row and 3 columns. The entire table must be 100% width of the screen, yet the center column needs to be 550 pix wide and centered between the 2 outer columns It has to be this table, and it can't be a table within a table. Is there anyway of doing this? and is this understandable? If so can you send me the code for this Thanks in advanced. Alex Hello everyone. I am currently working on a new project for our website. This new project is a News Ticker, with a menu that goes under the News Ticker. The problem I am having is the Menu, where I have DIV's displaying different HTML pages. It works like I want it to, but the problem I am most having is overlaying the HTML DIV's. When I click on a link, it shows the DIV window like I want to. Let's say for example I have selected Menu 1, now I selected Menu 2. I want to show Menu 1 again, but it won't unless I refresh the web page. I have attached an image below so you can see the image I am talking about above. Menu 1 Selected: Menu 2 Selected: When selecting Menu 1 after Menu 2 has been selected, it won't show. And I am trying to implement the feature of making small pictures large. Well, the way i wamt it to work is that 6 small pictures of the car at different angles will be displayed in a pop-up window. I have achieved this part of the project but i am havin issues with allowing the user to place the mouse over the small picutue and in a different area in the text box a bigger picture of the small picture appears. Here is the code i have for the pop-up see www.hitcars.com and click on the INVENTORY LINk found on the right hand top corner and then click on one of the cars to view a larger picture I would like to know how i can accomplsh this effect I have set up a navigation bar with mouse over & links. They seem to work fine however when I try to label the buttons using a layer of text they dont seem to work anymore. The mouse over changes color correctly and the click on the button works fine EXCEPT where I placed the text over the nav button. In other words I have a dead spot where the text appears on the button. I need to have a total of eight buttons on the page so I am trying to avoid creating a total of 16 graphics (2 for each button). I tried to play with the layers of the text but that did not help. I am fairly new at this so please forgive if this has been asked. Thank you. I am creating a mobile website (yes it uses script...yes i know thats not universal). Anyway. I have a picture of a car with call outs on it...the call outs all of a corresponding link below the car that is an accordion drop down. Matt Hello, I would like to have a link on my site which when clicked will change the page into a diffrent cascading style sheet. Just like a Standard css link, Contrast css link. so when clicked it will change into that css. hello, I have recently began making web pages. I understand the basics, however do not use an editor. Is their a good html editor to use, for laying out web sites a little easier? I have basically just always free handed it. Cut and paste in notepad, and altered accordingly. My question is any kind of editors recommended? Free preferably, but any help would be greatly appreciated. -brett- I have made a website and need help with my HTML. What im trying to do is use the Index page as my template and place all the rest of my page on a region on the index page but also change the pages of the site using nav bar. What HTML should i be using and can anyone give me a code?? Many thanks Gem I have the code to my website working perfectly when I view it in dreamweaver or by viewing the html file in internet explorer or firefox. But when I upload it to my server, It is pretty messed up. You can view the problem at larella.org. Code should be fine, and my server displayed the site correctly before. I've tried deleting files on my server and re-uploading the with no result. Any suggestions? Files I may be missing? Hello, Does anyone know the Html code which would place a transparent Gif on top of an actual image, to prevent people from copying it? HI, im trying to self learn HTML, things were going ok until i get to FRAMES. I have an INDEX.HTML, which splits the page into 3 frames. Each of the 3 frames then load other pages(banner, main, and menu .HTML). I have my 3 frames, but there is nothing in then, I think its the path I have wrong, but tryed main alternatives. I export my *.swi project in html/swf movie with width="100%" height="100%, and it`s visible in full screen on every browser- Firefox, Flock, Chrome, Opera, even when I`m changing the screen resolution. Except one- the old bad IE. The things with IE looks different-IE is searching for the "object" string, where I have to put the movie size not in percents (with w / h="100%" looks too small, I have to zoom to 400% to view the SWF file), but in pixels (in my case- width="885", height="705"). And when I change the screen resolution from 1280/1024 to 1024/768, 800/600, etc.- my swf is not fit to the IE browser window- big part of the movie is out of the screen... I tried "swffit" already but I can`t get it to work for me.. Is there way to fix it with some HTML script or any other way? I`ll be very thankful for your advices. Basically I want to know if I can make it go back level with the top? thanks Hi guys, First of all, take a look he www.euro-nova.co.uk/revamp You will notice the navigation bar at the top, all sitting where it should, but with no links, just plain text. Now, scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see another navigation bar, but its sitting wrong, as you can see. I want it to sit like the one at the top. The problem is, the top one is plain text, the bottom has the links attached to it, if I take the links away it sits properly. I have this problem with BOTH of the navigation bars, and I'm stumped!!
