HTML - How Can I Fix Invalid Html Inputs From Users?
Hi,
I have a website who can enter html code for product descriptions with my text editor. My problem is when user entered invalid html code, (not closed tables or divs etc) my layout distorted. I will try to change text editor but the other problem is i have lots of records, so i can't repeair invalid htmls on my database. So how can i isolate user html code from to my html? I don't want to use iframe. Any ideas? Thank you. Similar TutorialsSo this has been driving me crazy....I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with this HTML code. The W3 validator seems to think that I don't have a <head> element but it's there, so I don't get it. Not anything high on the priority list, as the page does seem to work as intended in all tested browsers (IE7/8, FF3, Opera 9, and Safari 3), it's just more of a curiosity and trying to do better next time thing. Yo guys I need some help with some html code. Its lookin like I need two pictures and two paragraphs but I haven't got the book yet and don't know how to put these things together the right way. Hi, I've searched for sometime on this issue but no luck. I've two forms on my html page (say form1 and form2). Both the forms have one text area each (say textarea1 and textarea2). form1 also has a button on clicking which the contents of textarea2 are copied into textarea1. Everything seems so smooth till here. But the real hurdle starts here. Actually, I have an xml in textarea2. This xml has few elements with special characters like "&" and "<" Now when the button on the form1 is clicked the contents are copied into textarea1 and this is passed as a parameter to the servlet which tries to display it in a browser. But the textarea1 is converting all & and < to & and < and thus making it an invalid xml. I would like the special characters to stay the same as they are in textarea2. Any workaround for this? Option2: I even would like to know if there's a way to submit form2 when a button in form1 is clicked. Is it possible? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks. Hey Guys, im new to this forum and i am in desperate need of help!! I have a site and when everypage loads it has a internet explorer error load. Why is that? This might sound pretty lame and stupid for you guys, but I'm a total beginner here and have a deadline that's coming in fast. Right? Wrong... the second link in the code should redirect the inputted text (in the search field) to the actual php script that handles the search with my database. The problem is - that link should redirect to Code: http://www.idlena.lt/?section=naujienos&sub=naujienos4&lang=lt&q=&Submit=Rasti Instead it redirects me in browser to Code: http://www.idlena.lt/?section%3Dnaujienos%26sub%3Dnaujienos4%26lang%3Dlt%26q=&Submit=Rasti and it breakes the url this way. I've read that sometimes ampersand has to be written with & in the code, I've done that. Doesn't make a difference. And what is even more strange - why doesn't the equal (=) sign show up as it should? This is just too frustrating. As a total beginner I understand that the explanation or the fix could be very simple but I just can't figure this out. Maybe there's an error in my code? Maybe I'm typing the url wrong? The main question remains - why don't ampersands and "=" signs show up as they should? Tried using the & , &amp; , %26 in the code but nothing helped. Firefox 3.0.5 and IE 8 show up a broken link with "&" shown as "%26" and "=" with "%3D". Hey, I was hoping if someone could help, I have been playing around with File inputs in HTML e.g("browse") I have 3, i would like to be able to search for a file using input "X" and for imputs "Y" and "Z" to auto-change to match "X". This is perfectly fine as it is. I don't want big text-boxes and stuff like that instead, so don't change this part. The submit.jpg is a picture that sais submit (duh..), and I'd like for this button to take this information posted into these forms and post it on another page. In other words, this can be compared to an e-mail webmaster kinda thing, and then I could go to this secret second page, and read it like this: person1@something.com There's a bug in your site. person2@something.com Cool site dude. person3@something.com Wow.. Get it? The layout of site 2 isn't important, as only I will be reading it. Also, the button would have to hide the URL it is posting to, so that others can't just read at the bottom that it will be sent to mysite.com/thispage.html. Hey I am a beginner website creator who is having a bit of a problem and I was Hoping that one of you geniuses out there could help me out! I want to create a users database using mySQL for my website but I'm concerned about people hacking into the server and rearranging the data in there how ever they like. My solution to this problem is one encryption, but also limiting what characters can be put into the input fields on the page. I'm aware that there is a way to do this in PHP but because I'm more comfortable coding in HTML I was wondering if there was a way you could do that? Thing is, I have a form with enctype="multipart/form-data" and 2 inputs with type "file" in it with names RequestForm[doc1] and RequestForm[doc2]. When I submit the form, only the first one of the fields is sent into $_POST. If i comment out the 1st field, then only the second is sent. This thing is just killing me! Could someone help? What might be wrong? And yes, I do need 2 inputs, not 1 multifile input. Hiya, I can add a hidden like this to my form... Anyway. I write little Riddle games, basically puzzles, they are offered for free to players. All of them, up to now, have been serial, you start at level 1, solve it and that opens up level 2, etc. However I am just writing one where all the levels are open, the player can play any level. When they get the correct answer they are taken to a congraulations page. However, they have no method of seeing which levels they have completed without keeping a note of them. So I wondered if I could set up something simple, that is individual to the player, thats non controversial that wouldnt be considered phishing etc where the players can tell which levels they have completed, by using the fact they are the only ones who have visited the various level congrats pages. I can show you an example of what I mean but I dont want to put a link here in case it is considered spamming. I have my own domain, access to the server etc if I need tinstall something, but my server, cookie type knowledge is pretty much non existent. Thank you in advance for any advice you wish to give. How long does it typically take for browsers to check for new content? Is there a way to put something in the html header so that browsers will do this automatically? I suppose not, but just asking. Thanks, Linda. Hi - I'd like my customers to be able to submit useful weblinks to our site so that they can be shared and commented on by others. In Firefox, a quick way of doing this is to have them drag the weblink in their Bookmarks and drop it into a textfield within a form. They can then press submit on the form. However, this doesn't work in Internet Explorer - the user is simply redirected to the url in the bookmark. Is there a smarter way of doing this? I'm can use ASP if there is not easy HTML solution. |
