HTML - Html5 <audio> Won't Loop In Firefox
I'm using the following to play an audio file on one of my pages. It loops fine under Opera, but it won't loop under Firefox. It just gets to the end and stops. How do I get this thing to loop properly?
HTML Code: <audio controls autoplay loop> <!-- Play audio with FireFox, Opera, and Chrome. --> <source src="media/audio.ogg" type="audio/ogg" /> <!-- Play audio with Internet Explorer and Safari. --> <source src="media/audio.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" /> </audio> Similar TutorialsHi, I have an audio loop on my website but every time i load a new page it starts again. Is there a way to get this one loop playing consistently through pages??? Thanks Jonny I am testing a really simple embed code: Code: <embed src="1.mp3" height=45 width=300 controls="smallconsole" autostart="true" nosave="true" loop="true"> When I open it in IE (Most recent version): It loads inside a Windows Media Player Plug-in, and plays fine. When I open it in Firefox (Most recent version: It loads inside a Quicktime plug-in, plays once, but if you refresh the page it won't play. You have to clear your cookies, and restart Mozilla for it to work. I can't seem to figure out why? Thanks in advance. EDIT: I tried using <object> tags instead, it works in both browsers just fine: Code: <OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="192" HEIGHT="190" CLASSID="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." TYPE="application/x-oleobject"> <PARAM NAME="FileName" VALUE="1.mp3"> <PARAM name="autostart" VALUE="true/1"> <PARAM name="ShowControls" VALUE="true"> <param name="ShowStatusBar" value="false"> <PARAM name="ShowDisplay" VALUE="false"> <EMBED TYPE="application/x-mplayer2" SRC="1.mp3" NAME="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="200" HEIGHT="45" ShowControls="1" ShowStatusBar="0" ShowDisplay="0" autostart="0"> </EMBED> </OBJECT> Hopefully this will help someone else with a similar problem. Hey guys! I've just realized my first site html5 and all it was ok about indeed the on-line publishing on my server. Indeed every test made on the local disk were good without Firefox does not read the audio and video files. It works with Google Chrome and Safari but not Firefox. I am anxious to specify that I'm under Mac Os X and that I converted well files in format OGG and that I am rather a graphic designer who try write some code. I try to find the solution for several days but unsuccessfully. Can anybody help me please? Here is the fragment of the code: HTML Code: <!-- Track 01 --> <div> <h3>Fall</h3> <div class="mp_options"> <span class="mp_play">Play</span> <span class="mp_addpl">Add to playlist</span> </div> <div class="mp_song_info" style="display:none;"> <span class="mp_song_title">Fall</span> <span class="mp_mp3">music/album1/Red_Fish_Fall.mp3</span> <span class="mp_ogg">music/album1/Red_Fish_Fall.ogg</span> </div> </div> <!-- Track 02 --> This may be a relatively easy answer but here we go.... HTML Code: <a href="audio.wav">Play this wav file!</a> The above is just a simple example but my problem is that no matter what I keep getting prompted for a download... Is there any specific reason why IE7 cannot directly access wav files or is this issue due to security settings.... Normally, in the past I haven't had an issue but at this time I am at a loss.... Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Dark_Jackal Hey folks, I have a background in traditional enterprise software, and I am trying to gain expertise on newer technologies. I will greatly appreciate, if you could help me understand, when to use HTML5, when to use Flash and when to use Silverlight. If you could point to some tools etc that will be helpful. Thanks for your help Heya peeps. I have a problem I'm trying to overcome as shown below (From another thread): I'm in the process of building a website where audio can be purchased and downloaded. I want each file to allow a preview, but would rather the preview occur on the same page, rather than load up a blank page with a quicktime plugin splodged in the middle. Is there a way of doing it? All I want is a basic play/pause/stop button. To control a piece of sound. It seems that I may be able to achieve this using HTML 5, but I'm worried that people won't be able to read it with there browsers. Am I mistaken? Thanks hi everyone, Can anyone provide me canvas tutorials? I am keep to update more knowledge on html5 and its tags. If you can provide me related information. Thankyou. Hello, I'm creating a site that requires the inbuilt audio player to keep streaming music between page loads. What coding options are available for this, HTML, PHP or otherwise? Regards Eddie Hey, On my site i have currently got windows media player to play an embedded wma file Code: <object id="MediaPlayer" height=46 classid="CLSID:22D6f312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" standby="Loading Windows Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,7,1112"> <param name="filename" value="Windows XP Startup.wma"> <param name="Showcontrols" value="True"> <param name="autoStart" value="True"> <embed type="application/x-mplayer2" src="Windows XP Startup.wma" name="MediaPlayer"></embed> </object> That's my current source code for it ideally i would like to make it have the playlist option so on the playlist they can double click which songs they would like to listen Is this possible Cheers Lolium P.s, would it be possible for people who view the web page to browse the directory were the audio files will be kept? so they can choose which song to play?? I want to be able to add a mp3 audio file of a sermon to a church website I am building. I have done searches and find a lot of "embed" code, but none of these work. Nothing shows on the web page. What is the simplest way of doing this. I understand "embed" is not a legal word. I have tired "Object", but nothing shows using this command either. Any help will be appreciated. Lawrence Hi everyone. I am working on a project with a few friends. The site is designed for people who are illiterate and so we are looking into how we could go about having audio cues play whenever the user hovers over a button or a section of an image map. If anyone would know of a good tutorial on how to do so in html5 it would be appreciated. I'm trying to playback an mp3 from within a table cell using a <a href> link. I don't want to use Flash and also don't want to use the HTML5 <audio> tag. I found this code Quote: function DHTMLSound(surl) { document.getElementById("dummyspan").innerHTML= "<embed src='"+surl+"' hidden=true autostart=true loop=false>"; } <span id=dummyspan></span> <form> <input type="button" value="Play Sound" onClick="DHTMLSound('success.wav')"> </form> and tried to incorporate it into the page. No luck. I think should be able to add the onClick part to the <a href> and have it play, but I get nothing. Thanks for any help, Mei Hi, Im tryin to use html5 video so my video can be watched by most browsers and cell phone OSs. Having an issue. the link working in Safari (on win) but not in FireFox http://beerdiaries.com/html5/html5.html any idea why? thanks Hi all, I have a web site that has some html tags and it works fine in Chrome and Firefox, however in IE8 and IE9 it just won't load any resources (stylesheets and javascript) and it gets completely broken. Does anyone know what the problem is? The doctype and html tag are declared as following: Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> and the content type: Code: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> Hi, I am doing my final year project and am comparing two technologies (HTML5 -JavaScript and Flash -ActionScript). It would be greatly appreciated if you could take a few minutes to answer my survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CLVC23Z Thank You i heard somewhere this is a war.. can I ask (not to familiar with html5) what about html5 encroaches on flash? what new elements/features? If it does compensate i know Jobbs will be pushing the hell out of it (html5) Greetings, Can some one explain me the difference between HTML4 and HTML5? what is the content management system, and what are the benefits of CMS? Do you heard the word Joomla? i have to draw ball on canvas in html 5 depending on the input given by user in a textbox. ex: if a user enter 5 in a textfield, 5 ball should draw on canvas. I was quite surprised to discover that a lot browsers are already starting to support HTML5... While the support isn't comprehensive, and it isn't universal - it does seem to at least work reasonably well - at least for those elements that are not tied to media: http://www.brucelawson.co.uk/2009/re...ml-5-wai-aria/ I'm already thinking about making use of HTML5 in new projects... I quite like the idea of <header> and other elements. I am designing a web page using Wordpress and have a rudimentary but working knowledge of HTML and have resources to help, so bear with me... My web site calls some audio files and they work fine. The line I am using is (a href=" url ") announcement (/a) Substitute appropriate GT & LT symbols accordingly... When I activate the page, the audio player covers the entire screen and all I get is a slide bar showing the progress of the audio track. Very boring,... What can I do to place an image there or change the size of the image to allow other image or words to be on the screen. I would appreciate it if I could get a sample of code to tweak. |
