HTML - Changing Background Of Page
Hi
is there any code etc to enable me to change the background of a page every few seconds to another image. Thanks. Similar TutorialsThis is a coursework assignment. i've noticed on some website it gives you the option to change the color of the background too a high contrast version. is this possible without using Javascript? (html5 ideally). Obviously i'm not expecting someone to tell me what to do but a link in the right direction would be nice please Hi there. My site's movehumanityforward.org and I have in the bottom right area a Facebook "like" area. It looks fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. But IE shows a white background for some odd reason? I'm curious why and would like to know if someone has a work-around. Thank you friends! ok i had resolved my earlier problem of my links being spaced earlier with help fro pegasus and now i got a new problem lol. i know how to change the background and colors for my links using css in most cases by calling a.Blah:link... and so on and the :hover... but in this case it is not working. Here is my css at the moment. Code: #Nav{ width: 948px; height: 18px; border-top: 1px solid #FFA701; border-right: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid #000000; border-bottom: 1px solid #FFA701; } #Nav a{ padding: 0; margin: 0; height: 18px; color: #ffffff; text-transform:uppercase; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; overflow: hidden; } #Nav ul li {display: inline; padding: 0px 5px;} #Nav ul {margin: 0px; padding: 0px; } my problem is that my links i want to be starting on a black background and they'll be white colored links. (which they are i'm using body bg for my page.) then i want as they are visited to stay white colored. the main thing i would like to have is that when you hover over them, the links turn black and the background of the links turn white. now i know it's easy with hover: {background:#000000} but i don't know how to place it because when i did it did not work. thx in advance edit: oops i posted this in html. (still help anyway it has somewhat to do with html probably ) ill post in css also though Need help incorporating an ever changing background as seen in this site - http://www.maddecent.com/ Any ideas folks ? ? OK I am so new to HTML I can't even spell it. I have a industrial HMI the has some custom webpage features to it and I would like to learn how to build the attached Table. I am not looking for someone to do this for me I am looking for some pointers. Here is a link to the device that I am going to use and a quick breakdown of how they do things. This statement that I fully understand, I am out of my knowledge base so that is why I am here "Although the HTML code will be explained or commented through this document, a basic understanding is required to create a proper web site." http://www.redlion.net/Support/TechN...ace/TNOI33.pdf I don't know what CSS is ? I got a few examples from all over the web some from http://www.quackit.com. and just can't figure out the layout and cell colors. I plan on changing the background color on the cell to the right of the descriptor depending on the cell value. Red if <100, Green >100 I would like to start with a cell layout that I can then link values to and from the HMI per the instructions in the Tech Note above. I have played with this device just basically copy and paste the above note I have gotten that working before. Thanks for taking your time to at least read this post from a NOOB. This might be a .css question, but I have several html pages with a copyright date at the bottom, and I want to be able to change the date from within a text file and display that date (use a function to open the text file) so that I can just change the text file instead of every html page. Maybe there's an easier or more logical way of accomplishing this, so I'm open to any suggestions. Hello People, I have 5 images that i want to display one by one after regular interval's of time . I dont know how to do this in HTML .Can you please help me. Thanks in advance, Kluserner Hello! Just a quick question really... Have you ever visited a website, clicked a link within the site, and noticed after doing so that only a portion of the page has changed? The diagram attached will hopefully help explain I am trying to achieve. i basically want a page consisting of two columns. The left column (nav) will be my navigation panel and contain links that when clicked by the user, the content beside it in the 'right' column (content) changes. Please can anyone suggest how i can achieve this? I have experimented with frames and floating frames (iframes) and it does work, yet I understand that frames are not supported by all browsers? this worries me! Can this be achieved through css? Are there any of you that know of any tutorials that can help me? Please, any help will be much appreciated! Any help would be much appreciated, David Hi there, I'm looking for help aligning a tiling background gradient to the bottom of a page. I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Hello all, First post here, been stalking for a few weeks and of course, I'm milking for information. Wish I knew enough to contribute. I've undertaken a web design project for a friend and I've run into a few snags I've never seen. I have a background color set, and the background color only extends the size of the browser window. It's grey when I scroll down. www.thephoenixpages.com/ourstory Forgive the design, not my doing. Also, is there a discrepancy in positioning with Chrome vs FF ? The picture box is off in each browser. Lastly, I attempted the sticky footer(as seen on some of the pages, but not the linked one) and it had the same problem. It wouldn't stick to the bottom, but the bottom of the window as seen on the screen. If anyone could shed some light on these problems, I'll email you a high five. Thanks. larsy Hello World! (Where did that tradition start anyways?) Yes, I am fairly new at web design, and am using the method of "search-Google-whenever-you-have-a-problem-as-you-go" to learn HTML. I am pretty happy with the results I am getting in Dreamweaver, but there is one nagging thing that is throwing a kink into my designs. I have the majority of the content that is unique to each page within a table cell (
). Since I wanted to have the background color of the cell match exactly to an image that tops off the page body, I decided to have the background be one pixel of that color that repeats across the whole table cell. Originally, I just defined the background in the starting tag using "style=" then specifying the background. (Dreamweaver made sure I had it right using its Code Hinting). The background shows up perfectly when in the Dreamweaver editing view, but when looking at the page in any other view (Live view, preview in browser, etc.), the background of that cell is just white. I tried defining the background with a CSS ID, which has worked on other parts of the page, but no beans. What am I doing wrong? Is the fact it is only one pixel that has to repeat an issue? Here is the code:
//In here goes all of the content of the page
The CSS: #page_background_beige { background-image: url(Background_Pixel.png); background-repeat: repeat; } Thanks, Wookieguy (Heh, I know tables are a fairly sloppy way to do things, but this is a fairly simple site anyways.) the title makes it sounds really confusing. Ok im making my first website, and i need help with a code, (as you can see on www.dalekblaster.co.uk) i have got a section at the top where the images change from one to another. The code is - HTML Code: // Set slideShowSpeed (milliseconds) var slideShowSpeed = 5000; // Duration of crossfade (seconds) var crossFadeDuration = 5; // Specify the image files var Pic = new Array(); // to add more images, just continue // the pattern, adding to the array below Pic[0] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblasternexttime.jpg' Pic[1] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster2.jpg' Pic[2] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblastersjanexttime.jpg' Pic[3] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster.jpg' // do not edit anything below this line var t; var j = 0; var p = Pic.length; var preLoad = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < p; i++) { preLoad[i] = new Image(); preLoad[i].src = Pic[i]; } function runSlideShow() { if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=2)"; document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=crossFadeDuration)"; document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Apply(); } document.images.SlideShow.src = preLoad[j].src; if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Play(); } j = j + 1; if (j > (p - 1)) j = 0; t = setTimeout('runSlideShow()', slideShowSpeed); Now i need help because, i want to link each picture on the slideshow to a differnet page or external site, but im not sure how. (but so they can go to different pages not the same one) can anyone help me? Hi guys I've spent the best part of two hours attempting this and have been failing. Miserably. What I'm trying to do is NOT to create a body background, but create an image, which will sit at the bottom of my browser window, regardless of it's size, and then go BEHIND other elements such as tables / images if my browser window size causes overlap. All help appreciated, thanks in advance. Antonz Hi I have a DIV that contains a php include on my page. The main page with the DIV has a black background, and the include page has a purple background. The problem is that the include's background is overriding the main page background, making it all purple. How do I make the background colors perform as they should? Thanks for your help Shaun I've seen it done, but probably not in html. Every time the page is reloaded, the background colour within certain areas of the page will change to one of a series of pre-set colours. Usually this is all background divs or table cells that have been earmarked for this colour change, but how on earth do you set that up in html? Any ideas? Hello all, I am helping a company develop a website right now. But, I am very new to it and would like some help. I went to w3schools but I am not getting enough info. I needed help on the problems that I stated in the title. Here is my code. I added a transparent code on the bottom, I tried to change the background by putting my renaming my picture and uploading it through godaddy. Since I have hosting and domain with godaddy, and I use companies computers I can't install a FTP client because of some restrictions. If you are confused with what I say, please ask me to clarify. If you can, can you send me your AIM, GTALK, MSN, ETC.... so we can diagnose this problem.

Welcome to _____________

*******<h/3>

Contact Us: ..........<h/2>

Introducing The ***:<h/3>

*$125.00 A Month Gets You Basic Service Office Space
Assigned Phone Number with Option of Voice Mail or Call Forwarding
Personal Email Address
(Ex: YOURBUSINESSNAME@........)

Access to our Conference Rooms

Professional Address for Mail

Wi-Fi with in our Office

E-Fax
In Addition you will have Exposure to other Professionals in Real Estate Business. <h/4>
Extended Use of Reception Personnel

Private Office

Warehouse Space

Accounting and more!
$250 Initial Setup Fee Will Be Required
*Contact us for more information on optional services

Along with the next step program, we offer services such as:<h/3>

Tenancy

Property Management

Rehabilitation

Remodeling

Road to Ownership

Below are videos that explain more about our mission to provide services to the Chicagoland area.

This is some text that is placed in the transparent box.
