HTML - Hiding Columns In Html - Help
I'm blocked at a weird scenario. I have the following HTML table:
Code: <table border="1" width="600" class="sample"> <tr> <th style="display:none;">Revision Number</th><th>Date</th><th>User</th><th>Comments</th> </tr> <tr> <xsl:call-template name="splitEveryNTermsForTable"> <xsl:with-param name="inputString" select="$dataattribute"/> </xsl:call-template> </tr> </table> The XSL template splits the "dataattribute", which is a ~ delimited string into 4 values per row. Can i control the display of either of the 4 columns using HTML using this case? I want to hide one of the columns. Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsI want to hide a table column when a window gets too a certain width. I've clocked onto the media tags, and I've used them to re-structure my navigation bar and I know the media tags work beautifully, I just need to remove a column from a table, the last column too be exact, using just HTML. Alternatively, If I can't remove it how can I make it seem like it's gone? I've tried setting the column width too 0px but that doesn't work. there's an image inside the column though, and I reckon that might be what's messing this up. Any suggestions guys? Even though a simple solution would be to not use any column coding at all, thereby putting them one above the other, this makes the page too long so I am trying to get them side by side. The problem is that the page looks about perfect in IE but in Chrome the wording 'Please give more details' appears at the right-hand edge of the text area, unless you alter the page zoom in which case it appears above the radio functions. I've tried tagging as a table but the situation is then reversed: looks great in Chrome but in IE the check boxes are almost perfectly displayed and the radio functions are squashed. I'm not too familiar with tables or columns at this point. The table tags I hijacked from the Links page ( I was able to understand them enough to both remove and add new ldata to the table) on the site I'm helping develop and the column tags I gleaned from a html tutorial site. Is this just as issue with the way that different browsers display html or am I missing something in the tags? Thanks for looking and hope someone can help. Thanks Simon hey everyone, I have a hosting package for a business venture that I would like to use for a personal website. However I don't want visitors to this (personal) site seeing the name of my business server, So I was wondering how do I obscure the nameserver to hexidecimal. I have read this http://www.pc-help.org/obscure.htm and I feel like I understand the basic premise, However It does not tell me how to do it. Could someone either show me the code/procedure to do this, or else point me to some instructions? I am a raging novice by the way. Thanks for your help I'm hoping that there is a way to hide ads from spiders using HTML. Seeing as how my current host doesn't allow me to use Javascript. There are very easy ways of doign this, but obviously for SEO purposes this has a major effect, what im using at the moment is this: {if (pageproperty['pageid'] ne 'home')} HTML blah blah {endIf} this works exactly how i need it to visualy, however Google does not see the navigation it is hiding. anyone have a similar query or fix for this? Hi, I have very little coding experience, but am trying to set up a page for a friend. I'm having a bit of trouble with some of my text (some links in particular) hiding behind an image. It displays perfectly in Firefox, but is messed up in IE7. Was wondering if someone could take a look at my code and see if they can see what the problem is? http://vitalia.100webspace.net/ The only coding I've ever done was html don't know any css haven't ever used ftp or anything like that. I've just learned a bit here and there on the net while building a couple of personal pages. I tried putting in some td and tr tags but that makes my entire table disappear. *sigh* Hi! I'm only starting out learning HTML and I've already bumped into a problem. I'm trying to have an image on a page, followed by some text placed under the image, in another paragraph, but for some reason the image now hides part of the text (so 'Would you like to place an order or to request more information?' no longer comes up, and 'Send an email', which still comes up, no longer is a link, it's just plain text). The text could read alright before I added the image code. Here's the piece - I'm copying it all in case my mistake is further up, but the img part is almost at the bottom of the code. Hi All, I have 2 buttons that need to be placed side by side and link to Paypal. I have used the "display:inline" on both forms and with the fields I need to hide, the "type=hidden" When I view the page in Firefox all looks, but in IE, although the hidden fields are hidden, they are still taking up space. So the two buttons are not sitting next to each other, there is a big gap where the 'hidden' layers would be. Anyone have any ideas how I can get around this? Many thanks hello i need some advice on two things if anyone has the time 1) the "enter" a href opens a page specific to the users name ie: user name rose opens ../users/rose.html user name dave opens ../users/dave.html 2) 'hiding' the password data <form action=""> <input type="text" name="user" size="20" /> username <br /> <br /> <input type="password" name="password" size="20" /> password <a href="../users/USERSIDPAGE.html">enter</a> </form> thanks sophia I don't want to really hide it, but I have a mail to: for an email address and the person is getting too much spam, I heard there were other ways, but which is better to to? TIA Hi guys, I have a lengthy HTML page with terms and conditions. At the top of the page, there will be a few check boxes. If certain check box is checked, then the content will be shown. If the check box is empty, then the content will be suppressed. Is there a way to suppress a content based on user check boxes? Thanks! Hey Guys, I am using the yahoo media player for one of my clients(musician) websites. I have the mp3's in my html code being pull in by the media player javascript. Is there a way I can hide my mp3 links in the source code so they cannot be downloaded? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I've made a site (http://sketch.uk.com) that hides and displays divs according to the browser size. However, ideally I'd like to prevent the hidden divs loading their content until they are visible. A good example is the index page of the above link. There is an iframe for the flash animation that changes to a static picture when you resize to a smaller window. If you were to open the site on the smaller window (such as a tablet or mobile for example) it would be better that the iframe were never loaded at all. Any suggestions? |
