The page shows up great using just the file on my computer, but after puting the page on the FTP client for the internet the background picture will not show up. this is how I coded it: background="whatpic.gif" src="whatpic.gif" style="background-attachment:fixed" I put the picture in the same folder as the html page on both my computer and the FTP client. Any help would be great. The background picture is a very simple thing I made using paint and saved as a GIF file. thanks -Laura What i want is an html table with 9 rows and 3 columns the first row is merged into a single cell with NAME in the rest of the first columni is to be merged into a single cell with a picture in i want the picture to be tight in the cell, no whitespace above, below or on the sides i want the bottom 8 rows (all of them except the header) to be the same height i'm nearly there but the bottom eight rows aren't all the same height. On the site below: http://www.nomagicneon.com/shows.html I have an image (not the truck) that contains data in the middle of it. I made it in MS publisher, now to change the data, I have to go back to MS pub. and change and save and resize etc etc. What I would like to do is: Make the image, cut out the data and then be able to put the data in using HTML code. I think that would require using code for the data and the new picture I created using absolutes. but since never using absolutes, I am not sure. any ideas? TIA Hello. After creating the html mail, I realised that after attaching it to signature of my Outlook Express, my picture inside the html codes doesn't not appear. What should I do in order for the picture to appear ? Hope to hear some advice. Thanks. I am currently making a comic website and I have no programing experience. I have seen some websites with neat galleries and I am wondering if there is any way to crop their html. My favorite gallery type is the one where the user can specify how many pictures he wants to see per page (there is usually a little box where you can choose how may pics per page are shown). Ok I hope my question is clear enough. Thanks in advance. I was about to create a site in Dreamweaver CS3 and decided to add a background image to it via CSS. But whenever I try to preview the index page, I do not see the background image. I have tried to preview it on Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, and Safari. But I cannot see the image at all. What's more frustrating is that the background image displays just fine on the Dreamweaver design preview. I feel like it is taunting me. I have also tried to upload the specific files to a webserver and it still does not display. I have tried to change the image from a jpeg to a png to a gif and still no luck. Before I go on about what else I have tried let me give you some information about my site. I have 3 files: index.html layout.css bg.png Site layout as follows: /index.html /css/layout.css /images/bg.png index.html contains - -------------------------- <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <link href="css/layout.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> asdf </body> </html> ------------------------ layout.css contains- ------------------------ @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body { background: url("/images/bg.png"); margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; } and bg.png is the background image in question. and heres a link to an online upload: http://www.geocities.com/cssnoob69/ What I don't understand is that another site I have built in Dreamweaver with the same CSS background-image declaration works just fine. I have even tried to use the background for that site on the new site but even that does not work. I have tried to find help on google but nothing I found helped. Any help is appreciated and thanks to all who tries to help me out! Here is the link: http://www.averytrips.com/socal.html I've got a TR with a background image applied to it. The background image is supposed to look like this: http://www.averytrips.com/trbg.png Clearly the TDs are messing it up, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. http://goldenworldgoods.awardspace.com/ Hello again, I did this site in Dreamweaver, looked fine in my dreamweaver editor, uploaded it and voila everything goes nuts. List of Problems: The Links are not positioned properly, not big enough plus the drop downs to the bottom and not to the right. That was properly my fault since I just copied a suckerfish method... But can someone help with this. If you study the News Header in the CSS, it says it has a background image, how ever it doesn't show when I uploaded it. I know the url and the pic is correct cause it worked in Dreamweaver... The background for "welcome" is all the way up there which isn't supposed to happen, it supposed to be right on top of the Hello text but that isn't happening either. The hello and welcome are supposed to be aligned to the left of the right header. Thats about it, please can someone help me. I've changed the format of this like 3 times just to get it correctly done, but nothings working. Thank you And don't worry I got it all validated and what not Hey guys, hope someone can help. The assignment is a simple HTML based webpage with two photos. This is because the original path is no longer valid. How do I change the path so that the webpage will display the photos included within the .zip file? Here is what my code looks like.... Hi all, just came here to ask why is it that when I try to open my HTML file in Internet Explorer, which I created in note pad, it comes up with the code I typed it rather than displaying the actual page? Like for example I typed in this... <html> <head><title>Interspecies Conflict Videos</title></head> <body> <div align="center"> <img src="web logo.jpg" alt="Web Header" /> </div> </body> </html> And all I got was the code you see above you, there was no picture or anything. Greetings I have 3500 pages of content on my site and i would like to monetize all of them by placing some adds. The problem is that my advertisers might change sometimes and i don't want to update all the pages each time i decide to go for some other advertiser so i tought i should use another html file that would be displayed on all the 3500 pages and each time i would modify this file, it would update on all the 3500 pages. I would like the page to be search engine friendly too, if possible. Also don't want to use frames. So there would be small window 200 x 200 in size that would display the content of the seperate file on all these 3500 pages. So how should i do this, would java script be something to consider? I don't know much about php and would not like to use it, what would be the easyest way to do this? Also there can not be any borders in this window and it needs to be embedded in to all these 3500 pages, in exact size of 200 x 200. This system needs to work in IE, Firefox, netscape and opera!! The content would be adsense, banner or similar content. Please advise.... Sir. Turhapuro hi all - can anyone advise as to what might be the issue - a new html email newsletter i've modified from an existing template behaves differently in that the content doesn't display along with the images until you choose to download them. so instead of just seeing text without images, the entire email is blank. has anyone encountered this/can possibly advise? many thanks, tania Can't figure out why the page is displaying only HTML code. My assumption is: I indicated a wrong path to the image hosted with 000webhost.com. Otherwise I have no clue why the code doesn't display online. Here is the code. Can anybody spot the problem? Thanks in advance! =========================================== HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv = "content-type" content = "text/html; charset = utf-8"/> <title>Russkaya Zvezda</title> </head> <body> <table width='100%'> <tr> <td align ='center'> <img src = "http://www.russkayazvezda.com/GRAY_VK_RZ_MY_RABOTAEM_raster.jpg" width = "100%" alt = "RUSSKAYA ZVEZDA"/> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <p style = "text-align: center;"> Copyright © 2000 - 2012 by Russkaya Zvezda Inc. </p> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> OK, I've really been tearing my hair out with this one and now getting frustrated beyond beliief! LOL. I have as a bolt on within my phpBB2 (v2.0.22) forum a Mass email HTML MOD (uses a program called MICE). Now, my forum style is Aphrodite and I have successfully got this into a draft email yet when I go to preview the email, everything is set-out perfect. Once it gets sent to any email client, ie Hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc, etc, a lot of the style gets stripped making it all look very messy. Best way to explain this is by screenshots. The below is how it SHOULD look (small section of the email): And this is how it looks in email clients (same section): This is the header from the html file: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" http-equiv="content-type" /> <title>screwball newsletter 1</title> <link rel="STYLESHEET" href="http://www.screwballscrabble.co.uk/forum/templates/ca_aphrodite/style.css" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> I'm hoping it's something that is easy to remedy as I've obviously overlooked something. Look forward to any responses. Thanks! |
