HTML - Search Feature In My Webpage
Hello created an account here to ask this specific question, I want to know how to link the search feature of my web page to the sites I'm an affiliate for, for example If a user comes to my site and searched for 'fishing rods' how would I get it to search the companies websites that I affiliate for and deliver the results to my page? Sorry if I'm doing a bad job explaining what I'm trying to achieve, the point of my site is to deliver the reviews of a certain product from multiple sites to mine by searching for it by keyword instead of having to go to each site individually. Please any help would be appreciated
Similar TutorialsHi Im not sure where to post this thread so I thought I 'll put it here - Im sure someone will point me to the right place Basically Im building a property marketing website which will list eventually hundreds of properties for sale (i hope) I need to add a simple multi criteria search feature ie costs, location, type etc. How do I go about this? Are there any availble scripts for this type of thing or even freebies?? Any ideas! Thanks This maybe complicated or really easy, im a beginner lol... But basically my website has tons of images and I want to tag them with specific terms somehow. There should be a top row with 5 drop down columns. And each column describes a different attribute of the image. Imagine the page populated with images and when you drop down a certain attribute only images with that attribute showup and if you drop down another column attribute, the page becomes filled with those images that fullfill the first and the second attribute, and so on and so forth. Kind of like google images, especially the new one where the image just expands when clicked with information. In the most basic sense, I want to create an image search engine for my website that searches based on tags on drop down boxes. Thanks !!!! Hi, I want to create the same pop-up as in the photo whilst clicking on it: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...826281,00.html Does anyone know how this is possible, or would I have to buy a type of software? Thanks in advance! Hi, geetings to all. I came across this interesting feature on the Microsoft website and I was wondering how the navigation bars work? (the one with highlights etc...) I suspect it's done using javascript... Can anyone link/provide me to/with any code, tutorial or explanation as to how this is done? Thanks. =) As for shtml, I remember doing it once but I forgot how it's done. My question is, does shtml operate on frames? Is there a good tutorial out there somewhere? (I'm sure there is, I'll be searching meanwhile too). Thanks for your help. DarkArcher Hi All I seem to have a problem with the lytebox feature on my website. The lytebox feature is working locally on my computer but when I upload it to my server it does not work. Here is the link to the site / gallery: www.starmanofficial.com/gallery.html I have also attached the code to the this in a text file. I am using V3.2.2 for the lytebox code. Please would someone mind helping me with this problem? Let me explain exactly what i want. In my horizontal navigation i want to have 3 links with a drop down menu feature! When the cursor hovers or that specific navigation i want it to drop down with other links hyperlinking to otherpages on my site! Sorry if i posted this in the wrong location. So im a real estate agent making a website. Im no pro and most of the stuff ive been using to build has been through layouts/generators/help of others such as yourselves. So ive been stuck on finding/making this code for the past couple of days. So all my listings are on my agencys website, not my personal agent website. Is there a code i could have where in the listings page my my personal agent website, i could have a window maybe 600x900 of the listing page on my agencys website? To kind of clear things up, you know how when you google something you have the magnifying glass, how it gives that preview. How can i have that preview coded onto a webpage, but me say what webpage to preview and how big to make the preview box? Tried to explain it as best i could. If you dont know the code, if you can tell me what its called so i can try to narrow the google searches. So far everything that has been coming up in the search restults has been preview boxes to preview html codes you have already written. Fail Blog Thanks hi i would like to know as to how to go about with html if i wanted people to watch a live event on my website i have been doing xhtml css however never explored this live feature event so can someone provide me with links where i can get all the information that is needed for example a camera to record, what technology to use, what i should consider from user point of view, server side point of you, and the html code that needs to be used. please advise. thanks For example, this scenario: 1. My page contains the text "giraffes in corduroys" 2. somebody googles that text - either as a phrase or just the words 3. google points them to my page 4. the user clicks to go to my page... Is there any way to determine that it was the text "giraffes in corduroys" which brought them to my page? Would the crux be getting the previous URL in the browser history? Hi...not sure if this is the proper place to post this or not. I'm trying to do two things...first: I'm trying to set up a search box in frame 1 that will search, scroll to and highlight text in frame 2. Is this possible? I've been searching around for days looking for answers, and have so far come up short. I managed to create a search box in frame 1 that reloads frame 2, but that's not really what I'm after. ---------------------------- Now for the second thing I'm looking to do (along the same lines): I want to click a link in frame 1 that scrolls to a target in frame 2 and highlights it. The target is a word in the middle of a paragraph. Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty green, so treat me like a beginner. Thanks so much! Hi, I am wanting to impliment a feature where I can install a search box on my website that will search anothers content. Basically I have two sites, one has thousands of sound effects on it, the other is more of a portal site. On the portal site I want to add a search box that will link into the other sites database so that the user would navigate away from the portal site and be taken to the stabndard search results page of the main site based on thier queory. Is there any code that anyone knows of to do this? Thanks all! This may seem like a rather elementary question, but I'm doing a this for a school project and wanted some input on how this should be done. What I'm looking to do is to have a very simple text-input box on my page where the user would obviously type in some text, then a simple "post" button or something like that where when once clicked, the text typed by the user would just then appear above the box, possibly in a table? How simple/complicated is it to do this. I'm pretty familiar with html so once I get pointed in the right direction I should be fine. I don't want a blog or something where someone has to sign up with a user name or anything like that, just whoever visits the site can write text into the/a text input box and then it is shown after whatever text was typed by the user before them. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm trying to have my search box and search button aligned but I can't seem to get it working. Whenever I try to move one vertically, both of them end up moving and I'm all out of ideas. Here is the code: Code: <script src="http://supportforms.epnet.com/eit/scripts/ebscohostsearch.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <form action="" method="post" onsubmit="return ebscoHostSearchGo(this);"><input id="ebscohostwindow" name="ebscohostwindow" type="hidden" value="1" /> <input id="ebscohosturl" name="ebscohosturl" type="hidden" value="http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&site=ehost-live&scope=site&type=1&custid=S6281220&groupid=Main&profid=EDS&mode=bool&cli0=FR&clv0=Y&cli1=RV&clv1=Y&cli2=PT82&clv2=(PT+Academic+Journal+or+PT+Periodical+or+PT+Trade+Publication)%7e(PT+Book+or+PT+Almanac+or+PT+ebook+or+PT+audiobook)%7e(PT+Newspaper+or+PT+NEWSP+or+PT+Newswire+or+PT+WIRES)&lang=en&authtype=guest" /> <input id="ebscohostsearchsrc" name="ebscohostsearchsrc" type="hidden" value="url" /> <input id="ebscohostsearchmode" name="ebscohostsearchmode" type="hidden" value="+" /> <input id="ebscohostkeywords" name="ebscohostkeywords" type="hidden" value="" /> <div style="background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/Wjilo.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; width: 900px; height: 600px; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 9pt; color: #353535;"> <div style="padding-top: 249px; padding-left: 70px;"><span style="font-weight: bold;" ></span> <div> <input id="ebscohostsearchtext" name="ebscohostsearchtext" type="text" size="23" style="font-size: 16pt; padding-right: 340px; height: 50px;"> <button type="submit" style="border: 0; background: transparent;"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/nYPoa.png" width="145" hspace="25" alt="submit" /> </div> </div> </div> </form> Hi, I want to make a search box on my website. I'm a novice compared to the pros here and stuck on a couple issues. My website is uspsrealty.com There is some "empty" space on my home page below the horizontal line. I want to remove the horizontal line and have the ability to use that empty space without throwing my borders/margins off. I would like to add about 3-4 sentences in that blank area. Can this be changed so I can add a few sentences? I know why this is happening, just don't know how to correct it. Also want to change the copyright.jpg to 2010 from 2009. Might as well make up a few more jpgs with the years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Willing to paypal you money for your help. Hoping one of you pros can do this in 30 min and willing to pay $25-30. Contact me he galevin@hotmail.com Thanks, Gerald Levin Hi, i have a problem im not sure how to go about it . If this makes sense how do i go about this? Thanks I'm using IE8 to test Hi, I'm trying to add a google search box (in a table) to my web page, but for some reason it the input button links to the page I am currently on. The strange part is that I put the same exact code in another cell right next to the other google search box and that one works wonderfully while the first one still links to the current page. It is the same with any search engine (yahoo, bing, ask), the first search box links to the current page and the rest work great. Here is the code I use: Code: <form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search"> <input style="width:140px" type="text" name="q" size="31" maxlength="255" value="" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Google Search" /> </form> I would like to get data from a specific website (http://www.forex.se/rates.asp?sectionId=246). More exactly, I want to get the values of the actual currencies and have them printed on my website. So for example, I would like to have it like this on my webpage: Code: Currency buy - sell EUR : 9,3749 - 9,6410 USD : 5,8674 - 6,0745 Thanks in advice. |
