HTML - Help Fix Strange Characters Only In Firefox Showing
Here is a screen shot of my problem, and below the source code for my site, hopefully you can help, you always provide great assistance that is greatly appreciated!

The character looks like a rectangle with an X in it in my browser Safari. At a PC at a university the character was different, dots, I think. I have noticed these symbols appear at the bottom left of my index page: My site is http://www.artish.com.au. It doesn't appear when I check the page before uploading it. Leticia Greetings all, i have a site that i've tested on my servers, and everything looks great in IE, FF, Eudora, etc... but then when i post it to the client's server, it appears fine in IE, but in FF (through Netscape), it gets these funny characters everywhere (see attached). Like 'A's w/ carats over them at the spaces and such... i don't know if this is something correctable in my code, or if it's a difference in hosting environments. I have look all over for a post explaing this problem but i haven't found anything. I am making a site for a friend using Dreamweaver. I know i know, i regret not coding it from scratch but its too late now. Anyways I have a pretty good page layout going now but I have ran into a problem with loading my images. On my home page an image in a table nested inside another table will load when viewing in safari but seems to disappear in firefox. What is going on? Its a pretty simple piece of code. I have rewritten the code for this image, copied it from a working image and screwed around with the table heights (although I wasn't too sure what i was doing). What else should I try? Hi, I'm probably missing something really obvious, but I'm having a stumbling block on why for this page, you can see the image with the wreath when viewing it in Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer. I always use Firefox, but my bosses tend to use IE 6, so they were confused on why they couldn't see the image today. I also can't see the image in IE 7. The bgcolor of a table works in Iexplorer but not in Firefox. Also the left/right/topmargin doesnt work at all in Firefox. Any idea how this is? I want a black border around images which show up jsut fine in IE but some reason the border does not appear in FF. Most of my time was spent setting up the custom menu using CSS. So I am very disappointed to see it not display correctly in Firefox. After doing some research, I realized that some of my HTML isn't validating correctly. But I cant figure out how to fix it. A lot of has to do with the SPAN codes. It works correctly in Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari, but Firefox is showing a bunch of empty space thats equivalent to the height of the page if the div was displayed without a scroll. http://www.greendayauthority.com/ind...20798&archive= Take a look at that page on different browsers. It ends correctly with the ads being at the end in other browsers, but with firefox, there's a bunch of dead space stretching the pages height. Any advice? I am working on a site that I have designed using a table to lay everything out. Everything works fine when viewing via IE. I tried opening it with Firefox and the backround colors for the different cells did not show up. Ok, so i uploaded my page to the web and for some reason the bullets are not showing up inside the table cells of the Toppings table to my page. for some reason it shows up fine in Chrome, but in IE and Firefox, they show up to the left of the table cells making it look weird? does someone know how to make it so it shows up the way it does in chrome for all browsers? whats wrong with my code? heres the page... http://valspizzaplace.com/newwebsite...inos/pizza.php ahh this is frustrating, i can't figure out and its probably something simple. The weird thing is if i take this code out it loads in IE and when I put it back in it don't. Its been working fine in IE with it in up until today. I need this validation script, and as i said its been working in IE for weeks with it in in. So I suppose what I am trying to get to the bottom of is why it is working in firefox but not in IE? If anyone could help i'd greatly appreciate it! Well, it seemes like it all messes up right now... And I'm going crazy. I cant get the hover effect to work on the 3 "pages", or fact-sheets, that should be clickable to dll the .doc file. But its the same way I did on the site "teamet", and it works there. 2.I cant position the header anymore. As it is now, opera reads it as I want it (the header, and navigation part), but IE hides it... Any help would be much appreaciated! I'd like to preface this with a note that, although I'm a programmer, my web technologies knowledge is pretty much non-existent, so I hope I'm just doing something silly here. I am setting up photo galleries on my and my wife's web sites using a flash based photo gallery called FotoPlayer. This program has a "Site Creator" function that allows a header, footer, some basic extra pages to be added to it. I started by creating a simple header that consists of 3 png files. This is added in a file called header.inc, and is used by FotoPlayer to create the pages. The left and right pictures have the "not found" images and text over them, and the gradient bar does not stretch. The other problem I'm having is some extra scroll bars being added (again, only in IE6) when the page length is longer that the browser display height. If I disable running of scripts in IE6 these problems disappear so I assume this is caused by FotoPlayer not liking my simple code. However, I have looked at about 20 other sites (some way more complicated than mine) created with FotoPlayer and they all look good in IE6, so this leads me to suspect that I am at fault here. I posted this to the FotoPlayer Forum a couple of days ago, but there has not been any answers. I'm hoping someone here can take a quick look at the page and tell me what I might be doing wrong. Sadly, for some reason, the plans one is working find, when I click on a link in the index it stays in the same category and then goes down, but the study one goes to my homepage. Regards, David King I designed a site using HTML and CSS. The site works fine on all browsers except on the client's pc. He has IE 7. When I try it on my computer using the same browser IE7 it works fine. I told him to try the site on FFox and it worked ok. He wants the site to run on his pc using IE. I tried asking him to clear all cookies... doenst work. Any ideas want can be the problem? THANKS! |
