HTML - Simple Text Query! (duplicate)

How come this code:

<img src="tick.gif" alt="+" width="15" height="15" />This is a test, etc.

...puts the image on one line, with the text "This is a test, etc." beneath it? I want the text to be on the same line as the image. (Prob. occurs with IE and FF.)

Any ideas?

In the areas where it says, for example ="show('Goodnight')", how do I add HTML code in the brackets but as normal text? At the moment it is trying to read it as HTML code but I want it to be displayed as text. How would I accomplish this. It is probably pretty simple but I am a bit of a noob

All I want is the webpage to just show a text field and a submit button. So when the user puts in the numbers in the text field and hits submit, it automatically will put the numbers he put into the text field on the end of that link mentioned above and then take them there. I'm thinking it should just be simple HTML but possbily PHP maybe, not sure. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi I have codes which are the same in a few HTML files. I'm wondering if there's an easier way to include the codes in every file without having to copy and paste them.

I'm looking at a similar way, like ASP files, to include similar codes in asp files.

As some may know I have been trying tom gte my nav menu code ina style sheet, which I thought would be relatively straightforward with a bit of help.

The page will load faster (better for SEO)

I just need some help with the script and javascript files and links to them.

Can you also tell me where the "Optimise your sites for search engines and speed" is located in X%? I have looked in Site Properties and that is not much better than WP10 that I had been using".

"Stylesheets are used in WebPlus, but only as far as listing text styles. This doesn't to extend to fully fledged CSS stylesheets I'm afraid. The navigation bars in WebPlus use Flash and in some cases JavaScript. As the nav bars are in this format, you would wee need some form of 3rd party tool / coding to convert this into a CSS stylesheet. I'm afraid as we are essentially modifying the code that WebPlus provides, here in technical support would not be provide help or support on making a stylesheet from a nav bar - my sincerest apologies for this.

Quite some time ago I was faced with putting a website together for the first time for a local community group (my wife nominated me!). Rather than tell you all what it contains and how it looks, it is probably easier for me to give you the link which is the Friends of Clifton Park based in South Yorkshire, UK.

This website consists of eight html pages. The first is the index, second is the welcome page and the rest are linked pages via links on the left.

On every of the "linked" pages, only the main body changes, with the exception of each link showing in Caps and link disabled.

The problem I'm having is that every single one of the linked html pages are the same, except the displayed text. 90% is the page set-up.

So my question is: Is it possible to "import" the required text information when a link is clicked on straight into the main body of ONE html page? btw, you'll notice that the page height isn't fixed, it expands depending on amount of information in it.

I have tried IFRAME but don't really seem to be getting anywhere as I can't seem to make the height auto-adjust. A specified height value has to be entered for each "page". This is no good as more information will be needed to be put on.

So basically what I am trying to do is:
Keep the index.html Change the welcome.html to display the main page (graphics/images, etc) Import text into main body into the welcome.html page when a link is clicked on.
Thus reducing the need of duplicate html pages and just having text files containing the main body text.

The main reason for wanting to do this is a) stop all the duplication of page set-up in each html file, and b) make it easier for the guy that wants to add information where needed, straight into notepad (txt file) and upload it to the website.

I hope all the above makes sense and if anyone requires further information, I will only be to happy to provide it!

Hey. So I'm pretty good at stuff in general, my problem is that I do not have extensive experience with HTML/CSS so I don't know the best way to do this, or where to look for a way to do this. Basically, I want my layout to be like this:

in that I want there to be gray space on the side and a middle that scrolls.
super simple right? I just don't know how to do it, and I don't know the best keywords to use on google for it.

here is the (ineffective) code currently:

the image shifts the left margin such that the text is centered as though the page width was 169px less than it really is.

i'm not debating the code itself; the code above behaves as its meant to. aka no surprises. i just cant figure out the appropriate code to center the text across the entire real width of the page as though there was no image.

i've tried div tags & all the things google hunting advised. no luck. other than finding this forum, which seems like it'll be a boon!

I am new to this forum and is expecting an answer for this question. I have implemented a facebook type search to the database which displays the familiar text saved in the database when I type some text in the database. My issue is after I have used the search box for a couple of time the text box starts displaying a similar dropdown from its history which hides my database search. Does anyone know how to disable it using html or css. See the attached Image if my question is not clear.

I have several websites that I maintain and update. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file.

I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file.

I hope this is an easy one with several answers.

Is it possible these tags could discipline your rankings in the search engines?

How do I Link text in a div, h1, h2, p to an external text file or xml file - I don't really know how to ask the question. I think I need an xml file that can be easily edited by a user saved to the server to update an xhtml page text without the user getting bogged down in html.

I don't want to use joomla or cms.

I have this form the user is ask to input a message and a number. I want to be able to add a line of text to the message, which the user can not delete. But is sent joined to the message. ie

User input

Message = "Hi Just would like to share this site with you"

with added text:

i have a lot of text files(2-400) all have quite alot of text inside them so is there some software that can help me convert it all into html pages??

somthing that i am doing right now is: copied all of my text files pasted them into other location and editing each file and giving extention html/htm.

now can u tell somthing better??

all the files will open in same frame(obviously one at a time), all have styling n everything same.
