HTML - Uploading Problem

I use frontpage to edit my page (so I can view it before uploading it to the web)

It shows exactly the way I want it when I save it and view it on my HD but once I upload it to the server... it's the same...

Then when I edit it again and upload the "update".... it's messed up. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Is there somewhere I can upload code so that it can be seen by forum members? Im trying to fix my layout for ebay and I don't really have anywhere else I can put it besides posting all the code here.

Hello everyone. I'm new to HTML and experimenting...
I have a domain www.thomgreg.com linux hosted by godaddy.
I've started going thru "Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML"
and am in chapter 2. On my local computer the pages displayed fine
but after uploading to the server the text displays but the images
do not. I have all the images and html files in the same directory,
a directory called "html" directly off of root.
the img src element I'm using is: <img src="drinks.jpg">
and, again, drinks.jpg and index.html are in the same directory.
The home page displays without the image though...!!
Also if I try to show the drinks.jpg directly by using
www.thomgreg.com/html/drinks.jpg I get a page cannot be found error.

Any ideas...? Thanks...!

Hey everyone, I'm the owner of a small business who had a website made recently. Unfortunately, I felt the style of the designer wasn't what I was looking for so we parted ways. So, basically I am left with a mostly done website, including code for a sliding bar of pictures (sorry for the non-technical phrases) for the online shop section of the site.

My problem is I don't know how to upload pictures to the bar! Right now all it has is a "coming soon" picture. Can anyone help? URL is:

I can able to do it on desktop application using File handling function in java but not getting how to do it to upload the contains of text file on html page . And the contains of the text file is getting updated at every hour which also need to be reflected on the page . I want that all the contains get visibled on html page as it is in text file , without changing format

Now, onto my question. I have all my files stored on my computer (.htm + graphics + other junk), and have already purchased a domain. I was wondering how to upload these files onto my site, and get my site going. I understand that I need to purchase a hosting service. I tried that, and didn't understand what to do. I uploaded all my files with the uploader provided, including the index.htm files, and nothing happened. I was then sent to filezilla - some kind of FTP someting (I don't even know what FTP is), and I had no idea what to do with that software.

I am wanting to embed a swf file in my website. I have worked out how to do this, but I need to upload my flash file to a url somewhere else. I have read about wordpress being used for this, but I don't want to use Wordpress. Is there any other sites I can use. Note: the files need to be given a url that they can be viewed from.

I have written a gallery where a user can upload a photograph. This uses a form to upload the photo, and insert data into a MySQL table.

What I want to do, is instead of having to go through the submit button, have a button where the user can click, this will upload the image, create a thumbnail, display the thumbnail on the page - but the page is not refreshed...........

Can this be done with AJAX?

Bearing in mind, I have little/no experience with Javascript - but I'm willing to learn!

If this can be done, and it's using AJAX, are there tutorials out there to which I could be directed?

I have an HTML form that allows users to browse for an image. I need that image to then be displayed on that form once the "Upload" button is pressed.

I finished the first version of a site for my first client (yay me!) and it is pure HTMl and CSS
I wanted to upload it to show it to them, but they tell me their previous webmaster showed them the sites BEFORE putting it live...

How do I do that? they dont want anybody to go to "www.mysite.com" and see the site before is complete.

The title sounds kind of odd. I am going to make a little branch of my website just for a couple of my friends so that we can put all of out ideas out on one page. I was not sure what catagroy this fell under, so I just put it under HTML because it can be moved.

I was wondering, how do I go about makeing a code, (Or copying and pasteing if there is one) that will allow my friends and I to upload pictures onto a page, without logging into the web host.

I want people to be able to upload some large image files (>5M each) to my site using an upload form - the usual

<input value="Upload" style="width: 60px" title="blah blah" type="submit" />

The first time someone tried it they said they couldn't upload their file. I then experimented and found that I couldn't upload files of more than about 2M size (2M worked, 2.5M and higher didn't work). Theserver seemed to give up after awhile and print out the error message that I put in for instances when the file didn't successfully upload.

Is there a size limit for files uploaded through HTML forms? If so, is there a way to increase this limit via the HTML script, or something else?

I'm looking to add an "upload file" section to a formail script I have setup. I don't need any of the security, and bells and whistles for now. I will take take care of that once I get this initially setup. I understand that I would use this code in the form fields;
