I am trying to align an image with a background image to make one apparently continuous image that will repeat across the top of the page. My design works in IE 7 but not in any of the other browsers I am checking with. Netscape 8 or Chrome. I am working with Dreamweaver but have some basic knowledge of code. Here is the website as I am sure that I have not explained myself as well as I could have. http://www.americain100days.com/ Thanks all, Joey Hell All, I have a question regarding to my website's home page: Right now my homepage has been embedded with an image and I want to insert the HTML text beneath the image. The text should not overlap with the background image and should have the same width as the webpage. How can I do that? Here is my home page: http://www.oleklejbzon.com/campbellsloft2/ And here are the index.html code: HTML Code:

Campbellsloft - Space Age Rugs, ART
/*.bottom { float: right; width: 250px; border-right-width: 20px; border-color: black; background-color: black; color: white; }*/ p {font-family: calibri;} /* Remove margins from the 'html' and 'body' tags, and ensure the page takes up full screen height */ #html, body {height:100%; margin:0; padding:0;} /* Set the position and dimensions of the background image. */ #page-background {color: black; position:fixed; top:0; left:0; width:100%; height:100%;} /* Specify the position and layering for the content that needs to appear in front of the background image. It looks fine on my computer with a square monitor set at 1024x768 pix. When I viewed it on another monitor, a wide screen it displayed about half of my image to the right of where I placed it in the table. Can this be corrected so the image looks correct in all screen resolutions? Here is a link to the page in question. It's the motor in the upper left. The image name is: log2.gif http://cb750sandcastonly.com/new/ Thank You. First of all, thanks for taking the time to read. I've relatively no experience with web design, and so I'm trying to figure things out myself. It's worked so far with the exception of this little issue: I've downloaded an HTML template from a site and have tampered with it in Notepad for a bit. As the subject says, I'm having trouble displaying an image using IE9 while the image in questions appears properly using Firefox. I've looked up a few possible reasons so far and none of them seem to be the cause for the problem. I've checked that the dimensions for the picture in question are not in the code, which I've heard is sometimes a problem with IE while Firefox avoids that altogether. In either case, I've made sure the picture I'm replacing in the template is the same size in pixels. Second, I've also made sure the .jpg is not saved in CKNY, and that it's in fact an RGB file. Before I go on further, please let me know what other info you might need to solve this and where I can post which parts of the code you might need. Thanks again! Hello all, I'm new to the forum and to blogengine.net and i'm currently constructing a website for a charity event. All is going smoothly apart from one thing; the blog appears on every additional page i've created! Its using the standard theme, I cant find the code which causes this. How do I make each page static? I can provide any other information you may need. I've obviously already searched the site as well as google but surprisingly I couldn't find an answer! For example, here is the code copied from a page that was created, and since only had a banner added; _______________________________________________ <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="gallery.aspx.cs" Inherits="_gallery" %> <%@ Register Src="User controls/PostList.ascx" TagName="PostList" TagPrefix="uc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphBody" Runat="Server">

<uc1ostList ID="PostList1" runat="server" /> <blogostCalendar runat="server" ID="calendar" EnableViewState="false" ShowPostTitles="true" BorderWidth="0" NextPrevStyle-CssClass="header" CssClass="calendar" WeekendDayStyle-CssClass="weekend" OtherMonthDayStyle-CssClass="other" UseAccessibleHeader="true" Visible="false" Width="100%" /> </asp:Content> _______________________________________________ anything there that would 'turn off' the blog showing on this particular page? Thanks in advance Dave Hi everyone, I am very new to designing web pages and HTML. I wrote a basic code for my test page, but when I upload it to the server and go to the link, it adds a bunch of crap. Check it out: garrettspctexperience.com. I've tried a few things to correct it, but nothing I've done works. I'm using TextEdit to write the code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Garrett Well title says it all, when I try to do an image and have it linked some where a blue box will appear around it only on firefox and IE, not on Opera. How do I get rid of it??? I am using Dreamweaver Help PLEASE! When ever you view the page when it's not maximized or lower res the images and text get thrown off from the background. http://www.scevolution.com/Deadhead/clan_exo.html How can I fix it? Should I post my code? Alright, before you post a reply, make sure that a 2 year old could understand it, as i'm only adequate at html. A friend of mine supplied me with the site template, i'm only editing it. Heres my problem. Link to my webpage If you'll take note of the navigation menus on the left, under "latest matches" "latest threads" etc. Lets take the first box, latest matches. Here is the code for that. This links to a .css file I have that makes the link text turn bold when you scroll over it. Now, heres the confusing part. Heres what I want: When you scroll over the navigation bar thing (the white bar that says [ATS] vs {DEATH}, no record, no record, no record, no record) it changes from the current backround ( http://atsquad.com/images/leftbarrepeat_11.gif ) to a new backround ( http://atsquad.com/images/leftbarrepeatmouseover_11.gif ). Also when you scroll over the white bar, the font changes from normal to bold (which is currently achieved from the style.css file) I'm not sure if i'm asking too much here, like I said, i'm still pretty much a newbie at html. Thanks in advanced, jake. Hi, I am designing a website, I know HTML, and CSS languages. I want my website to play backround music when someone is browsing my site. I know the HTML code that allows the designer (me) to play a backround .wav audio BUT it does not quite do what I need it to do what I am looking for is a code that allows me to play a .mp3 in the backround AND I am having an incredibly difficult time figuring out how to prevent the song from starting over when a person on my site clicks another link. Simply put I want a .mp3 to be playing in the backround of my website no matter where the user browses on my website and most importantly I need to have the backround .mp3 to play conintousely like I stated earlier, I don't want it to start playing from the begining when a user clicks on a link on my site. I am pretty sure that I am getting into Java here, unfortunatly for me, I am only NOW begining to learn Java and can't write the code for what I need. If anybody reading this knows a code, or CAN write the code for what I need, PLEASE post it on this thread!! Thanks in advance, I really hope I will finde that code. This is probably somethign simple but I have spent hours trying to figure it out and I just can't. Look at this page: http://69.63.144.35 In Firefox, it's perfect. In IE, you will notice that the table to the right shifts down a little bit. No matter what, I cannot seem to get these lined up in IE. Why would firefox show them aligned and IE not? Any ideas? the title makes it sounds really confusing. Ok im making my first website, and i need help with a code, (as you can see on www.dalekblaster.co.uk) i have got a section at the top where the images change from one to another. The code is - HTML Code: // Set slideShowSpeed (milliseconds) var slideShowSpeed = 5000; // Duration of crossfade (seconds) var crossFadeDuration = 5; // Specify the image files var Pic = new Array(); // to add more images, just continue // the pattern, adding to the array below Pic[0] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblasternexttime.jpg' Pic[1] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster2.jpg' Pic[2] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblastersjanexttime.jpg' Pic[3] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster.jpg' // do not edit anything below this line var t; var j = 0; var p = Pic.length; var preLoad = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < p; i++) { preLoad[i] = new Image(); preLoad[i].src = Pic[i]; } function runSlideShow() { if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=2)"; document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=crossFadeDuration)"; document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Apply(); } document.images.SlideShow.src = preLoad[j].src; if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Play(); } j = j + 1; if (j > (p - 1)) j = 0; t = setTimeout('runSlideShow()', slideShowSpeed); Now i need help because, i want to link each picture on the slideshow to a differnet page or external site, but im not sure how. (but so they can go to different pages not the same one) can anyone help me? Hi, I saw uses a skill to provide a greater depth of informations as users browse for movies. When a customer hovers over the graphic for a movie, the movie ID is sent to their central servers, and a bubble appears that provides more details about the movie. Again, the page is not refreshed, and the specifics for each movie aren't found in hidden form fields. This approach allows Netflix to provide more information about its movies without cluttering its pages. Now I am maintaining a web site which hosts on a H-Sphere panel. I want to adopt this way in my website. Could you please provide me any idea? Thanks Hello I thought my site was good to go until I viewed it on a pc. I took a look at it in IE on a pc and noticed outlines around the graphic nav. Do I need to add a bit of code somewhere? I'm attching a screenshot and below is my url to the site. thanks! http://www.bru.us.com html:

BRU

<a href="tg_moodboard.html"class="catlink">TowerGroup
<a href="cbuy_moodboards.html"class="catlink">Click&Buy
<a href="mca_home.html"class="catlink">MCA
<a href="incretin_home.html"class="catlink">Incretin Forum
<a href="fifa.html"class="catlink">FIFA World Cup
<a href="psr.html"class="catlink">PSR
<a href="baraclude_banner.html"class="catlink">Baraclude
<a href="forest.html"class="catlink">Forest

<a href="divided.html"class="catlink">Divided
<a href="india_photos.html"class="catlink">Photography

Mood Boards

Home A

Home B

Sublevel

TowerGroup / Moodboard

When TowerGroup came to us and talked about what they felt differentiated them from other financial institutions, one thing that stood out to me, was that they wanted to communicate that they're analysts are hands-on and accessible. I have pasted the info onto my ebay me page, and it works fine. Into several html practice pads online, it works fine. Into an ebay listing, it works fine. My hosting company says it's a problem with my code, but I just don't see how that can be, since it works elsewhere. They say they are unable to help, and sent me off with a "good luck!"
