HTML - Website Recommendations
Hi all,
I've been given the job of putting up a website for a shop I used to work in. It won't be a store but rather a web front. I have some idea's and am looking for the best ways of implementing them. I'd like to use a database to hold items in, rather than hardcoding every item I put on the site. I'd also like to put a search function on the site, all users to search by brand etc. Included in this I would like to display an image of each item that is returned in the search. Any idea's on what the best way of doing all this would be much appreciated. My current plan is to use an SQL database and PHP. Thanks Similar TutorialsHi all Until recently I have used plain text editors to code, but lately I have found that IDEs can be a welcome aid. I don't really need anything super fancy like a full-scale IDE, just syntax highlighting and something that keeps track of indentation so that when I move to a new line I don't need to tab out to the correct indentation. I have used notepad++ on Windows and I really like it, but most of my coding is done in a Linux environment and AFAIK there is no Linux version. Something similar to notepad++ would be awesome. I am looking into an editor called SciTE that is apparently the basis of notepad++ so hopefully that will be the answer. If such a thing exists then perhaps an editor that will help me keep track of the various attributes that each element can have (my experience with HTML/XHTML etc. is limited and I hate having to keep looking up the attributes at my disposable), it would be far easier to have access to some sort of HTML/XHTML/CSS API, or to be able to create one like you can in notepad++, it doesn't necessarily need to be part of the editor so any suggestions on sites that offer this sort of thing would also be much appreciated. Had the w3c recommendations ever demanded capitalized tags? XTHML or HTML? I'm looking for a legitimate, online school accredited in the US that offers a Diploma or Certificate program for web design. I am having some success plowing through this all by myself but some proper instruction and a few deadlines would help since I am already working full-time at another job. So that when ever a visitor visits the website I want the counter to increase say from 101 to 102 and then for a new visitor it should be 103 and then again for the next visitor 104 and so on..... I want to know the code. There are number of websites that are offering this but they put their advertisement which I don't want I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well. e.g.: Google images :http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...en-us%26sa%3DG sorry for the massive link. Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked. I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url. Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do. If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks So, I've designed my site to cater best to FF, but now I'm noticing that it looks like it should in IE, and it seems like FF blows up my text and images an extra size! It is coming along well but I am now stuck when trying to use the first page of my website as an ebay listing page. Of course when I upload my new ebay page there is nothing but text and broken links. How do I connect this html in my ebay listing page with my source code on my website?. Or do I have to upload all image files for borders and headers to a server separately and link straight to them one by one?. Is it to do with the very top html on the page where it says similar to href source etc etc?. My website is fine since I have uploaded all the necessary files to the directory so linking all the images etc. Really appreciate some help I have been stuck for weeks trying to get the graphics to work on my ebay page. Hello, I am trying to set up a website with no such luck. I have some experience with html however I have no idea how to create what you could call "HyperLink Boxes". The website is hosted at Voidcraft.net with a godaddy registration and its DNS'ed to a free hosting site called 000webhost with the following allowed scripts. I'm new here but I'm having some problems with my website. It's not up on the web yet, but if you think that you can help me with one or more of the problems, then I can send you the HTML that I already have. There are four things that are giving me problems: My cursor - I would like it crosshair all of the time (even when you click a link) but right now, all it's doing is going crosshair when I click the link.
