HTML - Possible To Make Simple "post And Show" Feature?
This may seem like a rather elementary question, but I'm doing a this for a school project and wanted some input on how this should be done. What I'm looking to do is to have a very simple text-input box on my page where the user would obviously type in some text, then a simple "post" button or something like that where when once clicked, the text typed by the user would just then appear above the box, possibly in a table? How simple/complicated is it to do this. I'm pretty familiar with html so once I get pointed in the right direction I should be fine. I don't want a blog or something where someone has to sign up with a user name or anything like that, just whoever visits the site can write text into the/a text input box and then it is shown after whatever text was typed by the user before them. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to scrape together a website for my wedding and have managed my way through most of it, however the RSVP form is killing me. I believe the page is working fine with FF3 - at least it does what I want it to do. In IE7 however, when the submit button is pressed IE appears to hang, and status bar reads "waiting for rsvp2.php". The page never appears, however the file creation on the back end does complete successfully, so it IS doing something. I have changed the form method to "get" and IE seems to proceed normally, but I don't want to use this as a permanent solution. The URL is below and any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, i have a website which i designed using HTML Code, but it is internet unfriendly, so it is not viewable at all. I want to convert the HTML Code to CSS, or do you know way for it to be viewable, without doing alot of things? .. I understand that there are tons of ways to do this but I really want the answer to the subject. What i'm referring to is a form that someone can print from the browser and "fill in the blanks" on the page where there are "underscores". My question is how to code those underscores. I tried manipulating the <hr> tag but it's putting way too much space in between each <hr>. I've already coded a "fill in the blank" line using <u> nbsp;</u> but that looks very messy. I'm trying to do something similar to this webpage. ....If you copy ANY PART of the lyrics, you'll see the website's name and URL "magically" appear when you paste it. I want to do something like this. When I looked at the source code for the webpage, I got REALLY confused. Not sure if they're using a script or some CSS to do this. Basically the plan is to link to the same page while setting the "location" variable on the server to something else, so the jsp page can check the location variable and make the page accordingly. However, I don't want to just append the the location variable to the url, because its kind of ugly, so I would prefer if there was a way for the links to send a location string using a POST method. I could then use a getParameter call on the server to get the location, and the jsp page could adjust accordingly. Is this possible? Or will I be stuck linking back to the same page but with "?location=index" added to the url? Thanks beforehand. I'd like to provide a file for people to download on my website, but when they click on the link and the download window appears I don't want them to have the option of opening it. I'm sure there's a cleaner way to do it (I'm not an expert at div tags yet), so I put the text box in a table and put that table in another table (as you can see in the code). What code do I have to use to anchor that red text box to the top of that left column? Do I need to use div tags? And if so, how do I anchor it to the table (and not to specific coordinates measurade against the top and left margins)> Thanks for your help! but the image wont show up. I have an image that has a mouseover/out rollover effect. I also have it pop up a new window with a "recommend this page to a friend" script. My fiance and I are getting married in July. We've been living together for several years and already have much of the things couples typically register for before the wedding. (china, furniture, linens, ect..) Instead of gifts, we would like to be able to take a kick-ass honeymoon and have our guests help us. I've heard recently much talk about honeymoon registries in place of the traditional wedding registry. Guests bring gifts of money to the wedding to help the couple with their travel costs and to allow for extra perks along the way. Usually a couple needs to hire a 3rd party or pay their travel agency a % to set up and host it for them. I already have my own webspace, and I know my way around a bit of HTML and CSS, I figure with the right help I should be able to manage it myself. They won't actually be purchasing anything, so it doesn't need to send a message to me, or another server with their order. It'll just show the other guests how many we are requesting and how many we've recieved so far. If anyone knows of any online tutorials that can show me how to get close to what I want, or if anyone can offer some pointers to get me started I would very much appreciate it.
