HTML - How To Identify Which Html Link Has Been Clicked?

Hello Guys,

I use Named Anchor to navigate within my webpage. Is there any way how one can navigate back to the clicked link from the destination? Normally the backspace works. But I would like to add a link at the destination and clicking this link would take me back to the clicked-link. Is this possible? I hope I made myself clear. If any of you can give me some advise about this issue, it would be much appreciated.

P.S - I read in a site that using the <li> tag can do this. I am unsure how that works either. If any of you have any idea about this, please let me know. Thanks.

Whenever someone clicks one of the features on that page in firefox it leaves a grey box around it. Is there a way I can remove that box or somethign I can do to hide it?

I have had this problem on almost all the websites I've made and I'm too picky to let it go...

When I make the navigation images/buttons for a website, I set the border to zero as usual and link each image to its respective page. But, when I click on the image to take me where it's supposed to, this pesky dotted border appears around the edge of the image after it has been clicked and it remains there until I click on something else on that page. (This also happens to text links when clicked, but I'm not too worried about the text links.)

For the websites I've made that go to an entirely new page after an image link is clicked, the dotted line appears around the linked image after it's clicked and before the next page has loaded, but then after the new page loads the dotted line is gone. But, for websites I have built that utilize frames, because the new page that loads is in an iframe, and because the page the navigation buttons are located on never changes, the dotted border stays around the image after its been clicked and, like I mentioned earlier, doesn't go away until I click on something else on that same page.

An example of this can be seen when you click the images in the navigation column along the left side of a website I built located at the following URL: http://www.djprogress1.com/

This border problem could be specific to my website browser (I use Firefox), but I am not sure. And the border could be added entirely by the browser and there may be no way to get rid of it through coding, but again, I am not sure of this. So, does anyone know if anything can be done to fix this or am I stuck with these dotted borders?

i have an html form that uses javascript to calculate the total price of gift cards. when i use a button for submit, everything is peachy. when i use an image to submit, the form races to the top and shows the top line of the page.

the text is enclosed within a div tag that has a set height with auto as the overflow command. i removed the height and overflow, thinking that the enclosure was causing this. nope! same thing happened.

this is the submit code:

I have several links on my site, all in the form of <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">mywebsite</a>

How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed.

I am attempting to use google analytics on a website someone else developed. I am now in charge of updating this site but am having a problem finding the home page so I may add a google meta tag which would verify me as site owner.

However when I look at the directory on my ftp site and open the file labeled main.html, it looks nothing like the source code I see via the web.

What is going on with this. Which file should I be looking for?

When parsing the POST data from an input form, how do you identify a uploaded file? My first guess is that the Content-Disposition header field will contain a filename parameter, but I don't want to just make that assumption. When I dissect some POST data, it looks like this...

Dear All

I'm a MAC new user.

I start study HTML + CSS

I make two file one for .HTML and the other for .CSS

when I try to link css in html I con't I don't know why.

this is the code line:
<link href="css/main.css" rel="stlyesheet" type="text/css" />

and this is my file path:
/Users/Sameer/Exercise/Website/header/css/main.css

when I run the HTML it can't recognize the CSS file and it can't launch it.

Can you please help me to link both file?

Note: both file in the same folder named Exercise

I need help with HTML problem that i am having.

I am using Dreamweaver to design a web site. I have created a music link

<a href="Reciters/Mishary-Rashid-Alafasy/001-Fatihah.mp3">Al-Fatiha</a>

In Browser when I click this link it opens window Media player and starts to play the mp3 file but my main web page is replaced with blank page and i can not understand why the main page is replaced with blank page.

I'm kinda new to HTML/CSS. I am making a website in Dreamweaver 8. I'm having trouble doing something, and I don't even know if it is possible. I made a page using CSS and DIV tags to define each pane. Now the center (main) pane will show whatever page you want to display (ie. Home, Media, Contact, etc.). I made each page as a separate HTML file (ie. Home.html, Contact.html, Media.html, etc.), is there a way to link each of these pages to the main pane (div tag) so I can keep all other panes unchanged (menus, banner, etc.) and just display the content in the mentioned center pane? Thanks!

i am new here and thank you what i am looking to do is i want to link a pic to a website so when you mouse click it it goes to website that i have figgered out what i cant is if the pic on his page changes can i get this link to change to what ever they change it to

kinda like what face book does with are you interested they take you profiile pic and if it changes then the if you liek me pic changes but if you click on it it got to your profile

Ok so I am tryin to make a link to where a person can download a file from my website. Not quite sure on how to do this. Any answers?

Ok so I have the whole mailto:blah@blah.com?Subject=whatever&Body=Things to say in the body.

But what Im wondering is, is if anyone knows how to go about adding custom html in the body to that email format.

This way, when you click on the email link it opens outlook or whatever you use and adds some html formatted text to the body, such as alternate email links, other links, images, background colors, etc... Cant seem to figure out if this is possible on the fly.

even a simple "mailto:blah@blah.com?Subject=whatever&Body=Hello World!<br><br>How are you today? would be the start of what I am getting at but as you'll see if you test this is the breaks show up in the body.


Could maybe a php script or some other server side/client side script work?

I have a form where people submit information to a site through a form; some people reference outside websites, but the links for them aren't clickable (no <a href... tag), just text so people would have to copy and paste it to use it. Is it possible to somehow check a submission for links and then add in the <a> tags if there are any? (without having to manually do it each time).
