HTML - Multiple Problems With Website!!

I'm currently building a website using Photoshop and Dreamweaver, this is my first time using em both but i'm having a problem. When I run it through dreamweaver the page looks and lines up fine if I don't add any links http://server61.urldownload.com/test/home.html but as soon as I add any links the page goes to crap. http://server61.urldownload.com/test2/home.html How can i get rid of the purple box and line up the page correctly?

First of all my html etc skills aren't any good.
I have a basic understanding how it works etc, but thats about it :s

So, I know how to use Photoshop, and the basics of dreamweaver.

I have 2 versions, that one, and one which isn't so wide.
But otherwise it's the same, except that in the uploaded version there, i dont have an iframe inside the box.

So my problem here is that whenever I type something in the middle, that exceeds its original size, it expands, thats meant to do so, but it also expands the navigation bar and the rest of the page, leaving it messy and pretty, well...

I'd need some ideas how to fix this, e.g. if I made a index page, just like that, without the text box, and made an iframe, that expands downwards, inside it, put a separate .html (the box).

I'm not gonna rip my ass off trying it, I'd really want some ideas how to construct it.


Another problem I had with the box was that the right side image of the box (the dropshadow is 90 degrees), the shadow wouldnt go with a constant depth from the top to the bottom, so when the image repeated itself i had an ugly "error".
What I did was to remove the shadow of the text box entirely.

I haven't learned this, and I can't really find anything on this. Is it possible to link multiple CSS sheets for different pages on the same website?

I have some pages which I want to be abit shorter than they are, but they're going by the index.html and gets pretty annoying when I change the main content area on the index.html and it changes the main content size on every other page.

Is this somehow possible?

I am creating a prototype of a website on a local cdrive that will be installed on thousands of other computers, also on their crive.

As such, thanks to SP2, there are warnings that come up when the home page of this site is opened up (yellow bar at top, several clickthroughs that you have to click on).

I installed the .... `fix' which was to add to the top of the page a `Mark of the Web' which was to add this line of code <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> as the very first line.

Intial problem was solved, this page now opens without any warnings !

HOWEVER A NEW PROBLEM WAS CREATED! Once on this page, any subsequent links to pdfs do not work AT ALL!

Question: how can I stop the error messages and maintain full functionality to provide links to pdfs?

Mo The solution cannot be changing settings on their browsers, or changing a registry key, or shipping a CD with the site on it, or putting it on the internet.

I've had problems validating my site. I am getting this error multiple times:

document type does not allow element "span" here; missing one of "ins", "del", "h1", "h2", "h3", "h4", "h5", "h6", "p", "div", "pre", "address", "fieldset" start-tag.

This also occurs for "br", "a", "input", and "hr". All of these tags are already in div tags. I've also tried to surround them in p tags, but I still got the same error. There are no other validation errors with my site.

Now, obviously with business cards there many different options. I need something to calculate on the side the total after picking each drop box option, or if easier, after hitting "calculate total." (preferably with the numbers in a table so I can make it appear by itself right underwear the send button) . Example: 1000 business cards in blue, say, would need to come up at 50 dollars if they pick 3-1, but if they pick 3-22 it needs to come up 60 dollars

if they pick the other color, green, and pick 3-1, the label would need to turn to $55.00, if they pick 3-2 with the color green the label would need to say $65.00

how can i do this please?

there are several things I would like to happen.
1. the right collumn background to be where the right collumn should be(so other links in navbar)
2.The test between the roach pictures to be alligned with the top rather than bottom of pictures (so smaller windows can see)
3. When you size the window smaller than the text, a scroll bar appears, and when you scroll the background no longer exists. If I put it on auto the background will only go as far as the text does.
4. (nice but not required)The cocroachs to be alligned to the left and right of the top bar respectively, and the text in the middle.
5. (nice but not required) the right column background image is being cut in half (as does the top one if you size small enough). any way to make the images ignore the collumns?

Hey guys and thanks in advanced for helpin' me out with this one.

Anyways, I'm building a sort of "Advanced" search functionality.

I want to give the user the ability to select multiple checkboxes in different categories (forms) but to be able to account for each checkbox even though they are in different forms.

For example a Newspaper might have a search for an article by:

SO looking at the above...If the user "checked" (I placed 'x' in there) those boxes...and clicked ANY of the submit buttons, I want to be able to pull-in EACH of the checked items from ALL THREE of the forms.

What is happening now with my code, is I'm only getting the results for the form which I clicked the 'submit' button in.

I know you might ask, "why not just put them in one form?"... but I have them in separate forms because I want the user to have the ability to "CHECK/UNCHECK ALL" for each category (i.e. Paper Type, Location, Article Section...)

Is it as easy as just wrapping all of those forms in one GIANT form, and supply each submit button with the name of that GIANT form?

I hope this makes sense, and let me know if you need anything else at all...it's the last piece of this search and I just want to get it out of the waY!!

Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked.
I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url.

Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do.
If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks

How to add a website counter to my website. So that when ever a visitor visits the website I want the counter to increase say from 101 to 102 and then for a new visitor it should be 103 and then again for the next visitor 104 and so on.....

im not all that great at html and i am making a website for my guild on WoW. i was trying to create a basic layout, but it kept getting screwed up. heres the homepage: http://www.freewebs.com/animefreak98/home.htm.

i made the whole page a table because i wanted it to have a back behind the tables, so i made the whole thing a table and seperated everything with colums. the colums are all screwed up. im trying to get them to line up, top to bottom and centered.
