HTML - Nothing Showing Up In Ie After Flash Header..
I'm fairly new to designing and building pages. In Dreamweaver it's testing ok with Firefox however with IE it's only showing the flash header.. Can someone please assist?!!?
Appreciate it! When I try to paste my code it says it's too long?! Thanks again. Similar TutorialsI'm making a website that has a flash header that serves as a menu bar. I use the exact same flash header on each page in this site. Is there a way to code this so the flash header doesn't have to 'reload' each time you move to another page within the site? I'd know how to do it using iFrames, but I'd rather not use that on this site. Is there another way? It just seems useless for this flash to reload on each page you move to in the site. Cache makes things so that the reload time is super quick, but I'd like it to not have to reload at all, if possible. Maybe this is a JavaScript thing? I don't know. So, if this thread isn't place appropriately, I apologize. Anyhow, thanks in advance for any advice or help. Hello everybody! My name is Myron, and I'm a bit stumped on a code we are using at school. The teachers gave us the following HTML we could use for a site we made, but so far it seems to be only working on FireFox and Chrome I'll use this site as an example: http://www.hildevos.com/ As you can see, IE seems to be loading the page, but then fails to show the Flash-component in the middle of the screen. FireFox and Chrome don't seem to have this problem, which is nice, but I really want to run the site on all webbrowsers! This is the code we are using: Quote: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>www.hildevos.com</title> <meta content="Dutch, Nederlands" name="language" /> <meta name="description" content="Hilde Vos, The Official Website." /> <meta name="Keywords" content="Hilde, Vos, A Heartbeat Away, Country, Singer Songwriter, Music, Nederlandse zangeres"/> <meta name="revist-after" content="15 days"> <meta name="distribution" content="global"> <meta name="robots" content="ALL"> <style type="text/css"> #swf_gecentreerd { width: 990px; height: 590px; position: absolute; top: 50%; left: 50%; margin-left: -495px; margin-top: -295px; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="swf_gecentreerd"> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="Index.swf" width="100%" height="100%"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="Index.swf" /> <param name="loop" value="false" /> <param name="menu" value="false" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="scale" value="noscale" /> <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /> <embed src="Index.swf" width="100%" height="100%" loop="false" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" menu="false" quality="high" scale="noscale" wmode="opaque" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"></embed> </object> </div> </body> </html> If someone could please look at the code and snuff out all the errors, I'd be really happy! Thanks in advance!! Dear everyone at HTML forums, Shalom, After making a website completely in Flash, I am now trying to partly convert it to HTML using tableless XHTML and CSS to make the text accessible to Google robots. What I have done so far looks fine on my computer but when I review it on multiple browsers using browsershots.org the browsers either fail to load the Flash .swf content and load only the bitmap .jpg content or the exact opposite but never both types of content together. You can see the site at www.removed by request.com and the browsershots.org results here. Many, many thanks, Leao Hi. Not sure if this should go in HTML thread or FLash Dev, but here goes.... I have made some movies in flash, but i understand that people with old versions of flash player, will not be able to see them. Is it possible to show an image instead of the flash movie if the recommended flash player is not installed?? i.e. my movies are 320px height and 426px wide, if the flash player is not installed i would like to show a photo (320px * 426px) instead. Thanks Leroy Hi Folks, Newbie to this forum so looking for somebody's HTML eyes to see where the problem is. I have a simple flash header above my main content body but for some reason it shows a space below it which is viewed only in Firefox. I've tried using a div instead of a table but the space is still there I also used an image instead of the swf file and there isn't any space..displays perfectly. I've used different swf files and all each shows that space. Works fine in IE. Can somebody see the problem, would be very grateful? <tbody> <div id="header"> <object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="766" height="189"> <param name="movie" value="header.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="header.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="766" height="189"></embed> </object> </div> </table> I am facing problem related to header menu. Please see attached file for clarification. Please suggest how i correct this error I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 and I am trying to get a flash embed to display on it but I am having a lot of trouble. i have successfully used and enabled different flash objects elsewhere but this is the only one that wont run. so I know it will work. HTML Code: <head> <title>iSwim</title> </head> <body> <div style="width: 320px; height: 356px; margin-top: 80px; margin-bottom: 44px;"> <object width="320" height="356"> <param name="movie" value="http://listen.grooveshark.com/widget.swf" /> <param name="wmode" value="opaque" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <param name="flashvars" value="hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&widgetID=22770693&style=metal&bbg=000000&bfg=046cc7&bt=FFFFFF&bth=000000&pbg=FFFFFF&pbgh=046cc7&pfg=000000&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lbgh=046cc7&lfg=000000&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&sbh=046cc7&p=0" /> <embed src="http://listen.grooveshark.com/widget.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="320" height="356" flashvars="hostname=cowbell.grooveshark.com&widgetID=22770693&style=metal&bbg=000000&bfg=046cc7&bt=FFFFFF&bth=000000&pbg=FFFFFF&pbgh=046cc7&pfg=000000&pfgh=FFFFFF&si=FFFFFF&lbg=FFFFFF&lbgh=046cc7&lfg=000000&lfgh=FFFFFF&sb=FFFFFF&sbh=046cc7&p=0" allowScriptAccess="always" wmode="opaque" /></object> </div> </body> Can anyone help me to make sure the flash displays right? what happens is the player loader displays at the top instead of the center and the control buttons are present before it loads. then after the loader fails it shows a "cannot connect" error. so I think the flash object is resizing inside its self. can anyone help me clean up this script so it will display correctly in iPhone safari (with flash enabled)? website is he smalldotdesign.zxq.net/iSwim.html that is where the HTML file is located that I am trying to get corrected. thanks in advance. i have a feeling this is going to be a tough fix. Btw, if this is posted the wrong place im very sorry but i could'nt find anything about javascript. Hey, Im making a site for a client and we've hit a dead end one one thing i particular The whole site we've made is HTML and Images only. The only flash element is the Navigation bar at the top. With out making 2 dedicated flash/non flash sites, how do we make it so that if flash is not detected on the viewers computer then the flash navigation will not show, but instead show a java script rollover nav bar? I was thinking maybe have the flash nav in a div that floats over the image nav, and if flash is not detected it would disappear...? help would be super appreciated. -Mongoose Does anyone know the code (HTML) that will play Flash in both Explorer and Firefox? Quick question, what kind of html5 coding would be needed to achieve this seemingly easy effect. Does someone know a tut i can start off with? Been googling but cant seem to land on the right one. Its a mouse :hover effect for a navigation menu! Thanks. Demo can be seen he http://bit.ly/wBJGst So this is the website that I got: Quote: http://eksow.com/ This is the source code for it: Quote: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Eksow Event Design & Management</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function showPictures(n) { obj = document.getElementById('changingPictures'); document.getElementById('bottom').style.top = "0px"; if(n==1) { obj.src="http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_07.jpg"; obj.style.visibility="visible"; } else if(n==2) { obj.src="http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_13_07.jpg";//Change this value to the url of second set of images obj.style.visibility="visible"; } else if(n==3) { obj.src="http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_12_07.jpg";//Change this value to the url of third set of images obj.style.visibility="visible"; } else{} } </script> <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body> <div id="container"><img src="http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_01.jpg" width="1024" height="261" alt=""> <div id="left" class="rollImages" onclick="showPictures('1')"></div> <div id="middle" class="rollImages" onclick="showPictures('2')"></div> <div id="right" class="rollImages" onclick="showPictures('3');"></div> <img src="http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_07.jpg" alt="Home Page" id="changingPictures"/> <div id="bottom"></div></div> </body> </html> This is the CSS of it: Quote: body { background-color:#000000; width:100%; padding:0px; margin:0px; margin-bottom:10px; } #container { margin:0px auto; width:1024px; padding:0px; text-align:center; } img { border-width:0px; padding:0px; margin:0px; } #left { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_03.jpg); margin-left:74px; } #left:hover { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Rollover_1_03.jpg); } #middle { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_04.jpg); width:296px; } #middle:hover { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Rollover_2_04.jpg); } #right { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_05.jpg); position:relative; } #right:hover { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Rollover_3_05.jpg); } .rollImages { width:292px; height:229px; float:left; cursor:pointer; } #changingPictures { visibility:hidden; } #bottom { height:8px; background-color:red; text-align:center; background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Eksow_08.jpg); position:relative; left:50px; top:-260px; } #bottom:hover { background-image:url(http://eksow.com/images/Rollover_4_08.jpg); height:8px; } What I'm trying to do is insert Quote: http://eksow.com/eksow.swf Which is Flash (160x15 px) into the actual website RIGHT UNDERNEATH the 'bottom'. Im not really in the mood of screwing it up, you know? I made a flash dropdown menu, but it's creating whitespace that i dont' want. How do I make it so that it just overlaps whatever is under it? Hi there, i am very very new to this website building thing. I am starting a website for my new business, it was all going well until i uploaded the website, and when i went to look at it, at the very bottom of the page it said i need to update my flash. I am also using A4Desk Website builder. here is the web address: http://uniqueplanners.netne.net/ Thanks for your time. Hi All, Can anyone help? The website is www.rivalinsurance.co.uk my flash header works in IE but not in FF. Could somebody veiw the code and tell me where I am going wrong?! Been pulling my hair out for weeks now! Thanks, akw144 Hey guys, I just built a flash site with a lot of text/img content and I was really careful to make it all xml-based so that it would be easy to edit later. Now I want to create a very very simple backend cms for my client so that they can modify the content as well. Really, just simple html forms will be fine. What is the simplest way to modify xml data via html? Can I post data to the server in xml format? Help! |
