CTRL+U really helps, but not when it comes to particular sections The profile sections a Headline: Bio: Members: Influences: Sounds Like: Website: Record Label: Label Type: I know only 2 or 3 are used, but just in case What I'd be doing is using that layout, but replacing all of the content myself, and probably modifying bits of the layout Thanks a lot Hope somebody can help! ~Mario delete, i figured it out myself. Hey there! I'm kinda new here, but I really need some help. I'm trying to show/hide the Swedish translation to our lyrics on our band WP page. It can be viewed here. I'm using a table with separate <td>'s for every individual lyric and every individual translation. The translations are in <div>'s. This is included in the header: <script type="text/javascript"><!-- function showhide(el){ el=document.getElementById(el); el.style.display=(el.style.display=="block")?"none":"block"; } //--></script> And this is the code for my little Swedish flag you click to make the translation DIVs visible. The names within '' are the different lyric DIVs. <p>Show/hide translation: <a href="#" onclick="showhide('armourswe');showhide('seamsswe');showhide('breathswe');showhide('cornersswe');sho whide('cunningswe');showhide('whiteswe');showhide('graniteswe');showhide('liliesswe');showhide('beac hesswe');showhide('pebblesswe');showhide('rockswe');showhide('ruinsswe');showhide('sarabandeswe');sh owhide('unknownswe');return false;"><img src="http://www.alpha60.net/wordpress/images/swedish.jpg" alt="Show/hide Swedish translation" /></a></p> Why does IE move the left column down when the translations are visible? It works fine in Firefox. I'm not a HTML king and tried a long time to get this far, so I'd really love some help! Below is my code minus the left and right image, could someone help me add a image to the left and right of the centered flash, so even if the resolution is increased the left and right image will stay flush with the centered flash. I want a simple HTML page which had a image aligned absolutely to the right in the middle and touching the scrollbar. Now, I can achieve this by having the image as the body background. However, when I use it in a image tag, it is aligned to the right ut there is space between the scrollbar and image. about a centimeter. Can anyone help.? Please note that there is no text just a image which has a map tag. I just need to align it to the extreme left or right touching the browser. this works great. if I put the no repeat option Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>S</title> </head> <body background ="6.jpg"> </body> </html> however when I use as a regular image there is a gap. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>S</title> </head> <body> <img src = "6.jpg" align = right> </body> </html> Thanks, Sunil I have the following Web Page: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="en-gb" http-equiv="Content-Language" /> <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> </head> <body > <div style="margin:auto;text-align:center"> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> </div></body> </html> If I add another DIV with an image inside it, the images all move to the left by 8 to 10 pixels. This is the second version of the page: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="en-gb" http-equiv="Content-Language" /> <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> </head> <body > <div style="margin:auto;text-align:center"> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> <div><img height="227" src="Images/2010BikeRide_BestTeamRU_360x227.jpg" width="360" /></div> </div></body> </html> I have no idea why the page center moves to the left, but it means that I can't get my page banner to appear the same on every page. (I've stripped out all the extra content and codes to just leave the offending images.) I primarily use Firefox, but the same is happening in IE and Opera. Can anybody tell me what's happening? (I apologise if this is a well known, frequently asked question, but I couldn't find an answer and this is driving me up the wall, so any help is appreciated.) Hi there I'm trying to make a website for a friend - http://wwwdev.cfpaddler.co.uk. At the top of the site is a 1x40 pixel (WxH) GIF - a horizontal gradient - that is told to have a width of 100% so that it takes up the entire width of the browser window, regardless of resolution. I want to put a 250-pixel-wide JPEG immediately to the left of this GIF and then make the GIF take up the rest of the space available. I tried setting the GIF width to 100% again but it puts the JPEG on the top line and then stretches the GIF across the entire window just beneath it. I'd be happy to use PHP (although I'm a beginner at it) to maybe detect the user's browser window width (if it's possible?) then perform a calculation to find what 100% width minus 250 pixels is... Any suggestions are very much appreciated; thanks for taking the time to read this. Chris Images in question are http://wwwdev.cfpaddler.co.uk/images/top_border.gif and http://wwwdev.cfpaddler.co.uk/images/top_logo.jpg. Hi there, Using fireFox I get the desired result, but when using IE I get the image on the *left* side?! this is my code (the header is a jsp page that has an image and user's info name and last logged in)) <td width="90%" valign="top" align="right"> <tiles:insert attribute='header'/> </td> as you can see the image (header) is align to the right, but IE pushes it to the left (I wrote center - and it still keeps on pushing it to the left) any idea why?? Hi, Do you know the answer to this question? (I wasted a lot of time trying figure out this problem, before finally giving up.) I'm working on an HTML page that is going to be an iFrame on another page. The innerHTML of the iFrame page is set to automatically refresh every 20 seconds. The problem is that when that page refreshes, it "flashes" a white background for about 2 seconds before loading the background and content. How can I prevent that from happening every time it refreshes? Here is the page that has the problem: http://www.mattscss.com/rtb/template Here is the page that has the above link as an iFrame: http://www.mattscss.com/wzmr/wzmr_wmp.htm Okay. I am sick of searching on google and w3c.org for solutions. I am asking anyone who is a pro at web developing to help me out! Problem I am using loadVars in Flash, from a *.html file. Mainly because the server does not support PHP and because in HTML I can have comments. I am spacing out the text like so, for readability: &variable1=value1 &variable2=value2 &variable3=value3 etc. when I do the line breaks, the HTML page automatically encodes whitespaces. I need an HTML tag or possibly CSS or Javascript that will get rid of all the whitespaces. Or if it is possible, as I was looking on w3c.org, there might be a text/content type or url-encode type that will do this, but haven't found one. If anyone has any ideas, I need them. Again, I am trying to remove all the whitespace in the ENTIRE page. Is there a way to have 2 lines of text (one above the other) where each line is a different colour, but there's no break between the lines? I would prefer an answer that uses CSS. |
