HTML - Psd To Html Slicing Help!
Ok,
I am trying to make a newsletter for my company, and I was given a psd file to work with. I am supposed to slice it up and make it into an html document, and upload the sliced images onto website to host them. So far this has not been a problem. I sliced the psd file accordingly, and converted it into an html file with images using a photoshop function. Next I hosted all of the files and when I used a html text bed generator to test out the index file everything went well and the image came up fine. However heres my problem: I am suppsoed to use this newsletter client to send out the newsletters called joomla! This program only allows you to paste html or xhtml or css. So I take the index file and copy and paste. It brings up the image, however the image is not well connected and the images are not lined up properly. What should I do to fix this? I have to have this finished today, so any help would be awesome! (Here is my index.html code) Code: <html> <head> <title>USA</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"> <!-- ImageReady Slices (USA.psd) --> <table id="Table_01" width="600" height="667" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="5"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_01.jpg" width="600" height="109" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_02.jpg" width="64" height="558" alt=""></td> <td colspan="3"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_03.jpg" width="467" height="142" alt=""></td> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_04.jpg" width="69" height="558" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="3"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_05.jpg" width="160" height="416" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_06.jpg" width="153" height="156" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_07.jpg" width="154" height="156" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_08.jpg" width="153" height="148" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_09.jpg" width="154" height="148" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"> <img src="http://1lacrosse.com/images/newsletter/us/oct/images/index_10.jpg" width="307" height="112" alt=""></td> </tr> </table> <!-- End ImageReady Slices --> </body> </html> Similar Tutorialscould someone explain to me what exactly slicing is, in making a website? Is it used in alot of sites? Is it a good practice? I am designing my first web site with a PSD file. I have sliced it and there are no issues there. Except that around each image that was sliced and is now a hyperlink to another page, there is a border. I do not want this border there. Is there anyway to get rid of it? By the way, I am using XHTML transitional and CSS. If I need to use something else then please let me know. Thanks Hi, I want to use this website layout http://devisefunction.com/2010/01/12...-in-photoshop/ and have downloaded the PSD file. But when I open it, its got lots of guidelines on it and I'm not sure what these are for. Do they mean that I should slice the website in vertical slices from left to right? I've always done it using horizontal slices from top to bottom but I've never downloaded someone else's PSD like this before. Thanks. Im using this template and completely rebuilt it and the psd file i posted the link for is the index/home page, the thing is I want the navigation bar and foot navigation to be text and linked but i dont know how to do that. everything is so confusing when I slice it up in photoshop and save it to html and open it in dreamweaver and its a disaster. can someone help or possibly downloaded the psd file i provided and do it for me? please i need help! thank you in advance! [PSD Index file] http://rapidshare.com/files/232258440/index.psd.html I just upgraded all my .HTML pages to .PHP . But now I noticed that when my pages pull up in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They still show the old .HTML links?? When they click on the webpages from the search engines results you get error 404 page cannot be found. How can I update the search engines or add code to my page so the search engines will reflect the new .PHP pages. Also it's been over a good week since I've update to .PHP Thank you all in advanced!! My html problem keeps failling, with all my image codes.. shown for 10 errors which are all for the images what's wrong? It's entirely images, tables and text. So no javascript, just plain stuff. I tried attaching it as a signiture file and I had trouble sending it. It also didn't come out right. I'm trying to avoid using a software. Its basically just a block of HTML I need to show up as the only content in an email. If you just put HTML into a email text field, it just shows the HTML code in the email as text. Any ideas? As the title states I've been using Microsoft Word 2000 to create my web page but now want to make a simple no frills html HTML document. Is there a simple and quick way to do it ? I know I can simply create a new HTML document and then just copy and paste the links but is there a utility that can do this ? Many thanks Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time. Any suggestions or advice would be very greatly appreciated. Regards Allan hello i have a page 'gallery.html' that i want to show up when the URL www.site.com/gallery is requested. how do i achieve this? thanks in advance rlbw Hello Friends, I need a tool which can remove HTML comments from an HTML page. Thanks and Regards, ceenuu2002@gmail.com Hi everybody, I've invented a means of converting HTML to keywords. http://4nf.org/tool/ What do you think of it? Any kind of feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and kind regards I am still new to the web page world, but the website I originally created (in japanese) was passed on to a programmer. He did a lot of "upgrades" to the site so he says, but he left. Now I am in charge again of re-modeling the site. The problem is I am trying to figure out why there are so many dead links. I have looked up and down the server, but can't find anything. Ok before I confuse anyone else here is what I am talking about. For example this page that I originally made : Code: http://www.discoveryfirm.com/tokushu/index.html cannot be found but if I take of the end: http://www.discoveryfirm.com/tokushu/ the page is there. Now I am trying to fix a lot of dead links, but I cannot figure out what the programmer did to the site. I am still new to all the high-tech features in the web world. Could somebody please explain. I have read a lot of the posts on this subject, but have not found an answer to my problem. I am rebuilding my site and renaming/moving some pages; most will stay with the same name/location. My site is hosted on a windows server (godaddy,) and I do not have access to IIS manager and the windows server does not do php. I have good coverage by search engines worldwide, and I'd like to keep it. All help much appreciated. Can I put an HTML page within a html page in a table? I have this template that I need to email to people, it will not be on my website. Wow ever I need to change the information in one table every few days. The information is live I think it's called. It's like if I place google adsense in that table and decide to change it to ad-clicks later, I can't send everyone a new template, I need to be able to change just the information within that table. I'm going to go read up on frames, haven't used them in years. Any ideas! ~eDee Hello everybody, I'm new here. I'm redesigning my own website and came up with some tricky situation. I write HTML lessons and I want to put just the pure code in my posts, but they appear as a regular html document... How do I make the code to be shown just as text (code), like we do in the forum boards (code tags or whatever)? Hi all, I've just joined your forum today as I've got a problem I can't seem to resolve with my tumblr html. I'm not sure whether any of you are familiar with tumblr, but it's basically a social networking blogging site. First of all, my url is http://king-of-diamonds.tumblr.com/ I have edited the html of my page a lot but there is one problem that I can't fix: If you have a look at my blog, you will notice that between the posts there is a little white line/space that I have tried my best to get rid of. Does anybody know how I can get rid of it? You can have a look at the html of my blog (currently) by clicking this link. Thanks in advance! |
