creating an email template that is intended for viewing through Outlook 2010 / 2007 & Hotmail / Live Mail (through a Web Browser). So far I have created a design that I am visually pleased with, and it displays fine in Outlook 2010. However when I load it into a browser I see "white space" between tables / rows / cells. I have explictly set the cellpadding & cellspacing both to Zero - however the web browsers (Chrome & IE9) insist on "putting in gaps". If anybody has any suggestions on how I can remove the gaps they will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Davo iv been trying to make a header for a new ebay store. i have dream weaver with a table with 1 row and 2 col in the first column i have the main logo and 3 hotspot buttons, in the 2nd column i have a solid colour image set as the background for that row. the problem i am having is the 1st column with the logo image has a white space under the image which looks very annoying html code below: <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"> <tr> <td width="1200" height="292"> <img name="MainHeader" src="http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/35060807/view/MainHeader.jpg" width="1200" height="292" border="0" id="MainHeader" usemap="#m_Main20Header" alt="" /> <map name="m_Main20Header" id="m_Main20Header"> <area shape="poly" coords="810,21,964,21,964,55,810,55,810,21" href="javascript:;" title="Terms And Conditions Page" alt="Terms And Conditions Page" /> <area shape="poly" coords="990,21,1144,21,1144,55,990,55,990,21" href="javascript:;" title="Email Us Page" alt="Email Us Page" /> <area shape="poly" coords="630,21,784,21,784,55,630,55,630,21" href="javascript:;" title="About Our Company Page" alt="About Our Company Page" /> <area shape="poly" coords="450,21,604,21,604,55,450,55,450,21" href="javascript:;" title="Frequently Asked Questions Page" alt="Frequently Asked Questions Page" /> </map> </td> <td background="http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/35060807/view/headerbg.jpg" width="845" height="292" border="0"> </td> </tr> </table> Hey guys, im a noob at html, but im a graphic designer so decided to put my own site together. i used dreamweaver to make the code but have come across a problem. www.londonjam.co.uk in firefox, everything is ok, but in explorer there are gaps. just below the email address and at the bottom of the p on portfilio. Could someone please help me as i need to promote my site, but want it looking correct before i do Thanks Dan Hi, when I create a table and set images as the background in each cell, there is a gap between each cell so the images don't link up. I think this is where the border would be. Can anyone help me get rid of these gaps? thanks i have made a one page site for a mate, but what ever i try i can not get the banner to show up, can anyone help me and tell me what i have done wrong please, heres the link to the site. http://a1aerials.info/ Thanks stephen HI guys I am joined shareasale and cj and want to place many banners in rotation at top of my home page. How I can do this. I logged into my cpanel account and checked Entropy banners but there I need upload banners, etc. Please give me easy way so I can add/remove banners from rotation. You know shareasale and cj affiliate banners code is a little bit complex than usual links. GCS I was posting in a forum on another site, the person helping me got swamped with work and I need this done tonight.. He helped me put links on different parts of my banner, and then he sent me the attachment (that I attached below). I opened it in Adobe Contribute CS4 but I can't figure out how to publish it to get the changes he made onto my blog.. I tried just copying the html and putting it into my blog myself but I'm a nub and that's not working either. Please help! I'm willing to pay, donate to your site/blog, whatever to get this done today! Thanks so much in advance!! Hi So I'm creating a website and I made a banner in photoshop with the Home, About buttons etc on it. I have made text in HTML saying Home, About (and the other buttons) And I have placed it over the buttons on the jpg banner. But now I need to know how to make a box around the text, so anywhere in the box is clickable, rather than just the actual text. Then I can just make the links transparent and Im set! I am a noob... A pic for those confused..... probably all of you : ( i know its not looking great but im still only designing it) http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t402...17/pic.jpg I know I could just enlarge the text so it fits the buttons on the picture, but then I would have to change the margins and stuff again and there must be an easier way to do it and I want to learn how. Help will be appreciated PS: If you look at the pic, you'll see the dark grey div. If possible, I would like to know how to get rid of that space between the div and banner. Thanks Hello, I have some problems with HTML, I can not see anything particularly wrong, but the banner and my menu aint hang together in IE, it is about 10 pixels from each other, they sit perfectly with each other browsers, it is only Internet Explorer there the menu and the banner does not hang together. Print Screen: Thank you for helping me! -Kristoffer Here's a site I did recently: http://www.siaacoustics.com I don't know why but when I'm loading the page there's lots of white flashes - in the main content window, you can see this black box only around the text before the rest of the window fills in. There are embedded Flash movies in the top, navigation + content frames - is this what's causing this white flash? Anyone have any ideas? FISHPAWS Hello all ! If they could explain why Internet Explorer does this? I know my right content is structured differently from my left because I was trying to get the left side fixed first but it didn't work they way I wanted to. Thanks. Quick Background: This site was made by a private contractor, using some format that only he uses which utilizes CSS and html. I'm now editing the site myself, and I don't really know CSS, so I'm trying to make things work primarily through use of html. So on this page, http://www.thechurchofsound.com/content/music I am trying to remove the gaps between the images so that they seamlessly connect. That is not a table, it is simply image, break, image, break, image. Can it be done with simple html? I tried changing vspace and border in the img tag. When i look at the website on my computer, no gap, but when i upload it online i get a big gap between the menu bar and the content: http://boburob.50webs.com/test/index.html http://boburob.50webs.com/test/testcss.css Thank you for any help! PS ignore the content, i need to learn html and css and i suck at coming up with ideas lol Hi all, im having a an extremely frustrating time trying to solve this. The table is being controlled via css and there is padding to set the text a llittle down and to the right. In IE the text renders as it should but Firefox leaves a large gap and I just cant get them to render the same. Any ideas of a working solution to this? It seems to me like it is mainly the top space which is way too much in FF. Thanks, Al. Hi Anyone I'm a novice at HTML, just beginning and have built a template page for my son, but I have 'gaps' inbetween sections of my layout within the table and cannot work out why. Can anyone help? You can see this template at the following address: http://www.private-chef.co.uk/home4.html. Appreciate any guidance on how I fix this.
