HTML - Auto-change Html Page Background Colours
I've seen it done, but probably not in html. Every time the page is reloaded, the background colour within certain areas of the page will change to one of a series of pre-set colours.
Usually this is all background divs or table cells that have been earmarked for this colour change, but how on earth do you set that up in html? Any ideas? When I create a new one I write the text in a Word file then ensure I cut and paste all the relevant HTML tagging. However, recently the background colour doesn't show up! The colour tag is the same as other pages where it DOES show up! I did paste the text into Notepad from Word and then into my Seamonkey composer page but the effect is still the same- absence of background colour. Can anyone shed any light on this mystery, please? Many thanks! Richard. Hello all, Can anyone tell me how I can change the block colour of the background to a more opaque effect? Many thanks Phil Hi, Background: I have a small page that need to be embeded into a bounch of other html pages. Help needed: 1. Please provide the html chunk that I can use to embed the small page in to other html pages. 2. Is there a way of not using iframe? Can I use <Object> or <embed>? How? --------------------------- mba colleges in london hospitality management diploma I've made an incredibly simple html page as an active desktop for a gpo policy, however there's been an uproar about colours so I thought I'd give it a stab to have a drop-down box to select from a range of colours for the body style tag. Any suggestions? <html> <head> <!--808080--> <title>ArchitenBG</title> <STYLE type="text/css"> body { background-color:#3A6EA5; } #div1 { position: absolute; size: 50%; bottom: 0px; right: 0px;} </STYLE> </head> <body> <div id="div1"><img src="Talbg.png" /></div> </body> </html> I have several websites that I maintain and update. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file. I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file. I hope this is an easy one with several answers. Is it possible these tags could discipline your rankings in the search engines? Thanks, Jason Hello all! I have a question that I'm hoping someone can help me with... I want to create a rollover image that behaves very specially. I have a smaller image that is like the "enter button" for the site. I want it to work like this: When you mouse over the "enter button" it changes the background image like a rollover. It doesn't have to actually change the background image... I will be happy if it just makes a rollover and the second image is centered on the page like the background image. I basically want it to be that when you mouse over the enter button it looks like the background image changes. Since the enter button is small and the background image is large, it doesn't look right when I do it. Will someone please tell me if you know a way to do this? Thank you so much! I will really appreciate it. Shei <3 I am doing a little updating on one of my sites, and I found a nice template to work with. The problem I have with it is, it is a jpeg and when I view it with the broswer the little save-print-view icon pops up and looks like junk. Is there any way to disable the {template?} or whatever so that it works without this happining? Thanks, Majik hi guys. i want to change the background image of a div when the user selects a football team from a dropdown select box. here's my code: Code: function changeDivImageArsenal() { var imgPath = new String(); imgPath = document.getElementById("right_box").style.backgroundImage; if(imgPath == "url(images/blackburn.jpg)" || imgPath == "") { document.getElementById("right_box").style.backgroundImage = "url(images/arsenal.jpg)"; } } function changeDivImageBlackburn() { var imgPath = new String(); imgPath = document.getElementById("right_box").style.backgroundImage; if(imgPath == "url(images/arsenal.jpg)" || imgPath == "") { document.getElementById("right_box").style.backgroundImage = "url(images/blackburn.jpg)"; } } thats fine and works if i just have 2 different images. but if i want to have 20 different selections, what do i write in the 'if' statement? thanks in advance Below are the two sites I will use to explain my problem. For reference, I used Mozilla Firefox 3.08 and Google Chrome 1.0.154.53 in my tests. Example 1: http://www.irishbyname.com/example1.htm Example 2: http://www.irishbyname.com/example2.htm When browsing the site in a browser other than Internet Explorer, example 1 and example 2 center to different locations on the page. In example 1, I set the height of the content area to be 200 px tall. In example 2, I set the height of the content area to be 500 px tall. When I have example 1 open in one tab and example 2 open in another, I can alternate between the two tabs and see a visual difference in alignment. The HTML code on both pages is exactly identical with the exception of the height of the content area. Can anyone tell me why the horizontal page center changes based on the height of the page? Can anyone tell me how to change my HTML to make certain the page centers correctly no matter how tall the page is? Thanks for your help in advance. Is this the correct code to use to auto-refresh a web page? It is not working for me. Is there something I'm missing? <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="60; URL=http://website.com/"> Thank you. Ok.... I know this is my first post, and I wasn't quite sure where to post this, under html or scripting, but here goes. I run a website wherein I provide translations for Spanish lyrics. My layout is fairly straightforward, but I spend about 3/4 of my time formatting. Check out the following: http://thelandofoz.us/laposadadelosmuertos.html I have to insert all of my code by hand. My question is, is there anything that I can do to streamline this process? Is there perhaps a way to use a script to dynamically generate code like this from a plaintext file? When I do one of these pages, I usually copy the lyrics verse by verse, then translate them verse by verse like this: Alza tu cerveza, brinda por la libertad, bebe y vente de fiesta, pues el Infierno es este bar. Raise your beer, toast to freedom, drink and come to the party, for hell is this bar. SO... is there any way to make this easier on me? Thanks in advance Hi I have a web site which captures visitors details currently using Formail, the online version. This ensures that all fields are entered and sends the information to me in an e-mail. The web site was created in Net Objects Fusion version 7. I have some web design experience but not that much. I can ammend HTML rather than start from scratch. I am testing a product called Salesforce.com which has the ability to capture leads and populates a contact management database which you use as a sales tool. This has the advantage of doing away with the e-mails, having to print them off and re keying the data into our current sales sytem. Salesforce.com lets you generate some HTML which you plug into your web site, which I have managed to do. However, it does not validate the fields so someone could leave everything blank which would then create a blank lead record in Salesforce.com. I have been told that i need to amend the HTML by hand but do not have a clue where to start. If anyone can either help me out with the HTML or suggest a better solution I would be very grateful. The HTML it has generated is below <!-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --> <!-- NOTE: Please add the following <META> element to your page <HEAD>. --> <!-- If necessary, please modify the charset parameter to specify the --> <!-- character set of your HTML page. --> <!-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <!-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --> <!-- NOTE: Please add the following <FORM> element to your page. --> <!-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --> <form action="https://www.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.WebToLead?encoding=UTF-8" method="POST"> <input type=hidden name="oid" value="00D2000000060Zj"> <input type=hidden name="retURL" value="http://www.withdeanfc.co.uk"> <!-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --> <!-- NOTE: These fields are optional debugging elements. Hi all, I'm trying to find a way to have my webpage scroll to the bottom automatically after the script: document.form1.submit() is called. I need to run the function/refresh in order to reload some different data into part of the page, but after the refresh the position of the page is always at the top... making the user have scroll down again. I could set some anchors or use window.scroll(0.500); on the page load, but i only want it to scroll down if that function of form1.submit() is called - and thats only called once the page has already loaded for the first time. So the first time a user goes to the page, it loads normally at the top of the page. Then they scroll down themselves and select an option. Once the select an option, the form1.submit() is called and the page refreshes with new data in it but is still at the top. Is what I want possible? Thanks, Mike can i have fixed layout for only some part of a table? I want the first column of my table to be "auto" and the other columns to be "fixed" llike style='table-layout:fixed;'. How can I achieve this? Thanks! |
