HTML - How To Make A Page That Recognizes A Mobile Device And Redirects.
How do you make a page (my home page) that will recognize that the person is on a mobile device (mostly ipod/iphone but regular phones too) and redirect to a wap page? Like wap.dawgtalk.com? Can this be done in a html page? And how do you do it?
Similar TutorialsWhen I create a test page using DIV and set it to 480 px wide, my iPod Touch does not have it initially filling the screen; I have to double tap it to have it fill the screen. What step am I missing? Many thanks... Todd Some mouses today have horizontal scroll, some call the tilt. It looks something like: http://www.htmlforums.com/attachment...1&d=1242556560 I noticed that many websites they code those horizontal scroll to go to next/prevous page. For example Discuz! forum system has this function. While you browse hundreds or thousands of posts separated into pages, the horizontal scroll can take you to previous page or next page.(not browser back/forward) How do I code like that? Or any examples? Hello all. I hope you can help me with the following problem with the mobile version of http://thekind.tk, my band's website. (direct link for desktops) As you can probably see, the website isn't that big but on my ipod it appears zoomed out. Of course the first thing I tried was putting this line between my <head>: Code: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/> But somehow this doesn't do anything for me. Even if I play with the parameters such as putting the scale at 2 or 3, the whole meta thing doesn't seem to affect my site's viewport at all. Any ideas on how to solve this? I have uploaded a file containing a timesheet for my users to be able to access and print off to fill in their hours. But I dont want anyone else accessing it because the timesheet contains phone/fax numbers, email address's etc. How can I make it so that only redirected traffic will be able to access/see it? e.g www. mywebsite.com /files/ timehseet.htm Access granted? If redirect= 'www. mywebsite.com /forum/index.234234q3434' then YES Else then NO If that makes sense. I am pretty sure I have to add somthing in .htaccess but not sure what. And do I make the htaccess file in the folder of the file in question? e.g www. mywebsite /files/.htaccess ?? I am completely re-structuring my website - same content but different directory structure and page names. I have completed stage 1, the duplication of content, and am now doing stage 2, removing the content from the old pages (so Google no longer sends searches there) and replacing it with manual redirects. Stage 3 will be to remove the old content. But it isn't happening exactly as I would like - it seems Google retains some old indexing even after it has a new sitemap and has trawled the site. So I fear that the redirect pages may take some time to disappear off Google's index, and when I remove the redirect pages people will still try to go there, which will be frustrating for them. My question is this. Is there a way to set up the following: (1) Anyone going to my site and finding a page doesn't exist is picked up by an error routine which directs them to an error page? (2) Provide on the error page an auto re-direct to the new home page? I'm sure the latter can be done, but I would appreciate a pointer on how to do it please. (1) is done in some software, and I think I've seen it done on the web, but I haven't a clue how. Any ideas please? Thanks. Working on this site and I like the template but I'm tying to make it more inviting, any ideas?
