HTML - How To Make A "vote" Button?

Do you know of a javascript utility that when you select a small graphic on the screen, it calls up a larger graphic in another part of the same screen (not a popup)? I'm trying to create a gallery and am not having much success.

I think I have a better way to ask my question. I'm trying to do something similar to this webpage.

....If you copy ANY PART of the lyrics, you'll see the website's name and URL "magically" appear when you paste it. I want to do something like this.

When I looked at the source code for the webpage, I got REALLY confused. Not sure if they're using a script or some CSS to do this. And I doubt I'll get a response if I emailed them, because (1) this site looks REALLY big, so they might not reply to emails, and (2) I don't speak fluent Japanese.

Really hope someone can figure out how I can do this. Thanks in advance!!!

This may seem like a rather elementary question, but I'm doing a this for a school project and wanted some input on how this should be done. What I'm looking to do is to have a very simple text-input box on my page where the user would obviously type in some text, then a simple "post" button or something like that where when once clicked, the text typed by the user would just then appear above the box, possibly in a table? How simple/complicated is it to do this. I'm pretty familiar with html so once I get pointed in the right direction I should be fine. I don't want a blog or something where someone has to sign up with a user name or anything like that, just whoever visits the site can write text into the/a text input box and then it is shown after whatever text was typed by the user before them. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I was hoping someone could clue me in as to whether or not this would be possible. I'm thinking it isn't but I need to make sure. I'd like to provide a file for people to download on my website, but when they click on the link and the download window appears I don't want them to have the option of opening it. Is it possible to only give them the option to save the file?

How can I restrict form submission to only the Submit button? I find the forms can be submitted also by the user pressing the "enter" or the "return" key (Users typically use IE or Firefox) By a mouseover the "Submit" button, a final check of data integrity is done as follows....

I know the coding is primitive, but it works. If the "Clear form" button is pressed, multiple consecutive error messages are tripped as the form is cleared. Can I suppress this as well?

Hi, I've got three buttons on a page and basically all I'm trying to do is put a BACK button as one of the three. But I'm having difficulties getting it to work.

My fiance and I are getting married in July. We've been living together for several years and already have much of the things couples typically register for before the wedding. (china, furniture, linens, ect..) Instead of gifts, we would like to be able to take a kick-ass honeymoon and have our guests help us.
I've heard recently much talk about honeymoon registries in place of the traditional wedding registry. Guests bring gifts of money to the wedding to help the couple with their travel costs and to allow for extra perks along the way. Usually a couple needs to hire a 3rd party or pay their travel agency a % to set up and host it for them. I already have my own webspace, and I know my way around a bit of HTML and CSS, I figure with the right help I should be able to manage it myself.

I'd like to have it "checkout cart" style, where my guests can enter how many they'd like to purchase and after they enter it would update the and "purchased" field automatically.
They won't actually be purchasing anything, so it doesn't need to send a message to me, or another server with their order. It'll just show the other guests how many we are requesting and how many we've recieved so far.
If anyone knows of any online tutorials that can show me how to get close to what I want, or if anyone can offer some pointers to get me started I would very much appreciate it.

Is there any difference between the two?
What is correct way of using <input> tag, is it with end slash '/' or not ?

Hello, i achieved to make a neat form and all seemed to be working well.

Well.. untill I tested with IE. It seems that on page 3. (The page with the 12 audio clips)
When the user clicks to Submit the answers. IE fails to cooperate and proceed to the next page.

Whereas Chrome and FF follow like normal.. IE does not.

Is it something ive missed? Ive tested this in all IE versions 6 7 8 and 9. All fail at the same button.

This is the first website I've built and I've learned a ton using Dreamweaver.

I'm having trouble with the "Start Now" button (left bar) at the home page for http://www.physicianlending.com. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I thought I might need javascript, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Is there a way around this?
