HTML - Targeting An Anchor In The Main .html From An Iframe
Is there a way to target an anchor in the main .html file from a flash movie inside an iframe?
this.links.portfolio.onRelease = function(){ getURL("http://asdf.com/blah/xx.html#portfolio"); } is my current code in my flash movie that is inside an iframe, but that opens the link inside the iframe. Would something like target="_somethinghere" work? Like go up one level? Thanks. p.s.: I had a quick drink of grappa, sorry if this isn't very clear. Similar TutorialsHello all! My 1st post. I have an iframe embedded on my webpage of a .html manual and I would like to be able to have the manual open to certain anchors within it when a given page on my website is visited. Here is the iframe code I have that will open up the manual but then the visitor has to scroll to the topic covered: <iframe name="FRAME1" src="../r6manual/TTM Mixer.14.05.html" width="1100" height="600" frameborder="0" ></iframe> Here is the anchor code on the TTM Mixer.14.05.html that I would like to be showing when the page is visited. <div class="Subhead"><a name="468813">Dynamics section</a></div> Thank you so much for your time, Matt. I'm using a thin iFrame in one of my websites and an anchor to decide where it starts. The anchor only controls the vertical component of the webpage. Is there a way to specificy a horizontal anchor in pixels or location? Hello! I'm looking for a solution to this Iframe problem. I want to create an "anchor" for the iframe to land on. This is a picture explaining something like what I want: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6...etroublesf.gif The thing is, I want that "anchor" to be exactly x ammount of pixels. For example, to make an Iframe including a youtube video- i would do this: HTML Code: <iframe src ="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg" width="100%" height="500"> </iframe> This iframe would cause you to see the entire youtube page, and the first thing on the iframe that appears would be that youtube logo & navigation bar that says "home | videos | shows | ...ect" How would I make it so that the iframe default is already "Scrolled past" that? So the first thing that appears on the iframe is the video, rather than that youtube logo & navigaion bar? The part that I want removed is about 90 pixels. Is this even possible to do? :/ Especially on a page that is not your own without anchor tags? I have an iframe in the middle of a page. I am trying to display another page within the iframe, but to start it a couple of paragraphs down, not at the top. So I have put an anchor into my iframe src, corresponding to an anchor name tag in my other page. The iframe scrolls itself ok, but the main body of the page also scrolls so that the top of the iframe is at the top of the screen, which is not what I intended. Is there a way to scroll just the iframe, with the top of the main page still at the top of the screen? <html> <body> <table> <tr> <td> table1 etc ... <table> <tr> <td> table2 etc ... <table> <tr> <td> <iframe src="another.html#marker"> </iframe> etc thanks I am creating a mobile website (yes it uses script...yes i know thats not universal). Anyway. I have a picture of a car with call outs on it...the call outs all of a corresponding link below the car that is an accordion drop down. I want to be able to press on the number that has to do with say fuel tank...and have it actually open that section not just take me to where it is... test link is www.schenkhampton.com/airtex2/fueldelivery.html Any ideas would be appreciated. Matt Okay, kinda' seems wrong forum for this, but I couldn't find the correct one. I'm looking to link to my "main" div, from the right hand side. I've used iFrames before, and was wondering is it like that, as in the Div has a name? I'm totally confused, little help if you don't mind. Here's the coding I've got now, if it's any use to you.. HTML Code: <div name="content" style="position: absolute; width: 310px; left: 184px; top: 390px;"> About the site, etc </div> <div name="menu" style="position:absolute; width:100px; left: 500px; top:387px;"> <h1>Owner</h1> About me, links for pages. </div> I'm currently attempting to make a mini-gallery in iframes for my website. I have an iframe on a page opening to another page with all my thumbnail images on it. The iframe shows only the first two rows of thumbnails, which is precisely what I want. Under the iframe, I have targeted links that open the same iframe to show the next block of thumbnails. It all works perfectly in Firefox. Yay! However in Chrome and IE, when I go to the parent page, it opens part-way down the page - at the top of the iframe. It's obviously somehow picking up the targeting - even though there is no targeting on the link to the parent page. If I scroll so that the parent page is properly positioned and then click on the targeted links to move to the next block of thumbnails - the same thing happens. The page jumps so that the iframe is at the top. I can think of two ways to fix this - both involving removing the targeting on the thumbnails page. One would be to have it so that the entire thumbnail page scrolls through the iframe, another is to break the thumbnail page into multiple small pages with only the content I want to show. I would like to avoid doing these things, if at all possible. Is there any way to fix this problem? I've looked on the net and read through all my coding books, but I can't find any reference to targeted links with iframes. I hope that makes sense and that someone can help me. I cant figure out how to make a link target a certain text box on a site. Here's an example of what I mean: http://www.freewebs.com/her-goatness...ch/layout.html Is this even possible in HTML? Thanks. Hello, I am having a problem with frame targeting in safari. The problem page: http://www.danshamptons.com/insider_guide/summer10/ Click "arts & attractions" on left Click "amagansett" Click "the art barge" (pulls up a dummy listing) Now click "amagansett" again. The page opens in a new browser window, instead of the frame "listingcontent" as it did when it was first clicked. This only is happening with Safari. Can anyone tell me what is happening here, and what a solution might be ? Thanks, Colin I have a table with multiple cells. One cells has a PHP generated list in an iframe. This list is a collection of links from a MySQL database. When I click on any of the links, I'd like to call the results into another cell. For example: In cell A I have my list. When one of the links is clicked, I would like the results to display in cell B. If another link is clicked in cell A, I would like cell B's contents to update. I know this is possible, but I have yet to figure out how. Anyone?? Thanks in advance - sleepydad Hi Folks, Is there a way to target the results of a form on one of my pages to a frame in a frameset. I have a form which produces a search on a site I pay to use. I want the results of this search to be in the bottom of a two row frameset. The top row of the framset will have links back to. The form itself is on my main page and is NOT a part of a frameset. Hope i have been clear. I'm assuming I may have to use javascript or php but not sure. All the best, Libman Hi Forum!! Okay I'm using an image map (well sliced image...I dont know if theres a difference) and I'm trying to get the imape map links to open up in either a table or a frame below. I didnt know if you can target images into a table...thats why I said or. Right now I have a table with a frame inside of it although I don't tihnk my frame code is right and the frame isnt really there. Here is a link to the outline of fanlisting ---I have ALOT of bugs to work out as you will see. www.geocities.com/diesel_girl35/index.html The actual links in my image map is working but Im not sure how to direct them to where I want them to go. And my table is too small... I wanted it to be the width of the image..which I think I can figure out. BTW if anyone has any suggestions on a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish please advise me =} And here is what my image map code looks like..if it will help. So should I target into a table or frame and how would I go about getting everything to work right? Please, HELP!!! I dont' want to use iframe, but want something like server side includes. I don't want to use php or anything, just html. Are there any other options besides iframe? Or will I have to use PHP? Hi, I have a problem in a page of my web site: http://flash-clocks.com/documents/html-embed-tag.html When opened, the iframe below is focused, and I do not want that. How should I fix that? Hi, I have what I think is a simple problem, but I am not sure how to solve it (because I am fairly new at php): I want to use a google map link where it will show the destination address. This link uses the iFrame component. Now, on my site, I want the user to enter his/her departing address, and what is entered will be input into a php variable $address. I am still experimenting, but I wanted to replace the google link that is in the iFrame (say it is www.googlemaps.com/location1+location2+location3) I want to replace "location1" with $address. The thing is, when i try to put a php variable inside an html coding, it won't work. I am trying to integrate it without having to use <?php ?>, but rather in the body of the html. I also tried <?=$address?> but this also did not work. Could anyone help me out? it seems very simple. Hello, this is my first message here and I hope it will be for all you experts a serious one. This is my page I am developing right now: http://www.travelevros.gr/main.htm The page has one IFrame that loads its subpage of the flash menu. Please dont tell me to get rid of it, I need that IFrame. The flash menu it is placed outside of that IFrame of course, its container is the main page main.htm. In IE, everything works ok and the menu (as transparent) drops down nicely and the user can click the submenus alright, even if they are above the IFrame area. But with Firefox Mozilla, even though the menu drops down nicely too, the user cannot click the submenus, not even the links inside the IFrame page (that covered from the swf rectangular region). So there is a confusion in the Mozilla browser, where to send the click events: to the flash menu or the html page located in the IFrame. What should I do to make this work with Firefox Mozilla? I've tried some solutions i've found in Google, like entering the "z-index" property, placing the flash menu and/or IFrame inside a DIV layer, but I couldnt make it to work. The submenus still cannot be clicked when they drop over the IFrame content. As I said, in IE works fine. I've found somewhere else that the tip for this problem is to place the menu in a DIV and make that DIV load AFTER the IFrame is displayed, at the end of the page, thing that I dont have the knowledge to do. If this is right solution, can somebody help me doing this? On the other hand, if there is some other solution then I am ready to listen. Thank you very much for your time. p/s Check the first menu on the left, it works in Mozilla too, but thats because this region its outside the IFrame. The other menu choices falls down to the IFrame region, so the problem is with the layer placement. Hi, So I am lost at how to do this, I have a server side program that scrapes websites (e.g amazon.co.uk) and modifies the content and reserves this as its own page. (I know this sounds naughty but intentions are honorable!) basically I want to set the page to be a header (of my website header) and an Iframe type element containing the full html of the scraped text. Similar to proxify.co.uk Looking at the page source of proxify, they needed to do some serious modification of the page they reserve to achieve this Any ideas how to achieve this simply for example say the page I scraped looks like <html> <body> scraped site </body> </html> I would like to be able to do <html> <body> my header <magic frame> <html> <body> scraped site </body> </html> </magiceframe> </body> </html> Hey all (And thanks to all who helped in my last post).. http://wessell.net/david/project/newdesign/index.php I'd like to put a shadow around the left and the right, of the entire box (Including headers and footers).. But I'm at a tad of a loss. I'm finding a lot of information on shadows on pictures, using CSS.. I'd be interested in any suggestionons as to which way to go.. Thanks! David I am attempting to use google analytics on a website someone else developed. I am now in charge of updating this site but am having a problem finding the home page so I may add a google meta tag which would verify me as site owner. The site is at http://www.vandam.com However when I look at the directory on my ftp site and open the file labeled main.html, it looks nothing like the source code I see via the web. What is going on with this. Which file should I be looking for? |
