HTML - Js Executes In Safari But Not Ie!
on my website's guestbook page http://ryanhollis.webs.com/guestbook.html the guestbook is put on the page by javascript that was given to me by Freewebs, i dont have the JS or edit it freewebs takes care of that, its mostly external
the guestbook page loads just like it should in Safari and Google Chrome, but in Firefox and Internet Explorer the HTML loads, but not the guestbook JS i really have no idea why its doing this, because the HTML and CSS have both been validated and I don't see anything wrong with the code (as if my opinion on that means anything) one of my friends recently told me it wasnt working, i dont know how it started i didnt even notice because i only use safari, and recently switched to Chrome, but originally it was working in all browsers code for the main part of the guestbook page including the js: HTML Code: <div id="body"> <img src="icons/body1.png" alt="" width="642" height="64"/> <h1>Guestbook!</h1> <p> BLA BLA </p> <div id="guestbook"> <script src="http://link.members.freewebs.com/JS/checkLogin.jsp" type="text/javascript" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/fw.js" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://images.freewebs.com/JS/fwComments.js" /> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- new fwComments('myguestbook', 8468750, 31154415, {requireLogin:false, alignNavRight:true, showLowerPaging:true, showHideLink:false, commentCountText:' Signatures', isGuestbook:true, limit:20, showRatings:false, duration:0, showDate:true, startPostClosed:false, showLogin:true, showIP:true, postText:'Sign Guestbook'}); // --> </script> </div> <img src="icons/body3.png" alt="" width="642" height="70"/> </div> code for the CSS that hits this (doubt thats the prob but just in case) Code: #guestbook{ margin:0px 30px 0px 30px; text-align:right; } #body{ position:absolute; margin:239px 0px 0px 192px; background:#ff0000 url('http://ryanhollis.webs.com/icons/body2.png'); width:642px; } Can you tell me why this is not working? Thanks guys! Similar TutorialsUploaded with ImageShack.us My website is www.tuckermatthewsphoto.com This is what my side menu looks like when I open it in Firefox. Note the box to the left of "automotive". It's a link to the home page, just like the "Tucker Matthews Photography" image. I've tried ironing it out all day, caved in and asked for help. In safari the "Automotive" link is in line with the others. Please help! Check my source code and my CSS out! This is killing me! Ok, this might be simple, but I can't figure it out! Hi, I recently put up a new website at http://oubeta.org/ . I just realized that it works just fine in Firefox, but not in Safari. Would someone mind taking a peek at the source code of index2.htm (the page you go to after clicking on the main logo, or just he http://oubeta.org/index2.htm). Only the background image shows up in Safari, and none of the other content. Thanks Can anyone tell me why all the content jumps to the right in Safaria for page of my website? It looks fine in all other major browsers... http://www.kasedesign.co.uk/ysm/business.htm Thanks in advance… Hi all! Quick question about the two different browsers, IE and Safari. . . On my home page at www.rentxotic.com I have two buttons programed to be in the top right corner, IE doesn't load this 100% of times, but safari always has it no matter what page your on. Does anyone know what the compatibility issue is with this? How can I fix it? THANKS - Ryan PS all you guys have been such a great help, your time is much appreciated! I have a simple slide over menu for navigation in a div. Safari and Firefox both work. ON IE it's shifted over to the right a little more and the slide over menus wont appear. Any options? Hi, I have a site that loads fine on Chrome and IE. Don't see a section of it on Safari or Firefox. Page comes up blank. its supposed to show flash object. The site is kidsooda.com The section page that does not work in Safari and FF is kidsooda.com/inside/#/contact If you have any ideas I'd really appreciate it. THANK YOU !! Greetings to you all, Today's question I have is this: Does anyone know how to achieve transparency with svg files in Safari? I have an orange colored circle graphic in svg format. I want to display it on a colored background, maybe even an image background but in Safari it shows a white square around the circle. I have tried using the embed tag and the object tag and both show the white square. Both embed and object seem to be fine for Firefox and Opera. I have used img src and this displays the graphic as it should be in Safari but doesn't show at all in Firefox. I have spent the last three hours searching the net for an answer but there doesn't seem to be a solution out there. I would really appreciate some help. I'm sure there must be other people with the same problem. Thanks very much. http://www.vancouver4condos.com/test/ In the top-left corner of my map (under the "Downtown" tab) there should be a navigation menu with four buttons showing. This menu looks fine in Firefox, IE and Opera, but not in Safari. When I open this page in Safari, that menu loads underneath my map image. I have no clue what is causing it. Our organization's webpage was created in Dreamweaver, with some additional javascript and html code added by an intrepid staff member with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. The page displays properly in Internet Explorer and Firefox for Windows, as well as Firefox and Netscape for Mac. However, the page displays a white screen in Safari. The page is loading, because the page title displays, and it is possible to view the source code for the page using the "View --> View Source" menu option. But none of the page content shows up. I did not find any relevant help in the Safari forums on the apple page, so I'm wondering if this is a simple coding problem that I don't know enough to ferret out. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The website address is http://www.buttecounty.net/bclibrary Thanks, Derek I had previously posted an issue about a page that would not display in Safari (http://www.htmlforums.com/html-xhtml...tml#post627071) Thanks to Peter V, I was able to fix the major issues. However, now there is one portion of the page that does not display - a table including a logo and a search box at the top. The page displays correctly in IE and Firefox for Windows, and Firefox and Netscape for Mac, but not in Safari (for Mac - haven't tried Safari for Windows). The URL is http://www.buttecounty.net/bclibrary/ Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Derek HI, I am trying to fix a webpage ( http://www.d.umn.edu/itss/labs/maps/ ) which uses some pretty complex html (atleast for me) to show pop ups when you rollover the numbers on a map of the building. They work fine in IE and Fire Fox but dont work properly in Safari. Any ideas on why it acts funny in Safari? Here is the code used to show the pop up for one of the numbers on the map. <!-- BEGIN POPUP CODE _MWAH 177_ --> <div class="test-popup"> <div id="lab-title" class="pdiv"> <p class="ptitle">MWAH 177</p> </div> <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"> <tr><td> <div id="lab-info" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><img src="pcicon.jpg"><img src="bwprinticon.jpg"><span class="pinfot">TODAY'S HOURS:</span> 8:00am - 8:00pm</p> </div> </td></tr></table> <table class="pinner" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-bottom: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid black" width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top"> <div id="lab-info2" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><span class="pinfot">CURRENT AVAILABILITY:</span></p> </div></td> <td valign="middle"> <img src="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/PieChart?lab=6&title= " height="90" border="0" align="middle"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <img src="key.jpg"> </td> </tr> </table> <div id="lab-links" class="pdiv"> <p class="plinks"><span class="pinfot"><a href="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/public/public.swf?map_id=4&lab_id=6&srv=http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080" target="_blank">ROOM VIEW</a> | <a href="https://summit.d.umn.edu/r25/html/Computer_Labs.html" target="_blank">SCHEDULE</a> | <a href="#10" target="_self">LAB INFO</a></span></p> </div> </div> <!-- END POPUP CODE --> Hi, i have the encountered some problem recently. Pls check these 2 simple sites whcih were done with Dreamweaver and have a simple .swf file embedded. www.asia-leap.com www.drjeanho.com The flash were loading ok for the past few months in IE, Firefox and Mac Safari, however, just noticed that the .swf files were not loading anymore recently in Mac Safari and Firefox. Please HELP!!! Many thanks. Would appreciate it if you could reply to the email provided: faraway_c@yahoo.com YC For some reason, the main navigation links in this site don't work in Safari 3.1 and latest version of Firefox. They work in IE 6 though. Can't figure it out. http://wcwfc.com/blog/ www.lasrocasresort.com , IE and Firefox both render the page correctly . Safari will leave a blank line between the flash banner and the body of the page. Any suggestion ? Pakal I am an amateur website hack. I did everything in notepad pulling javascript from some free sites. My intention was to have the center image with "Lindsey Teefey" and the bottom page links vertically and horizontally centered on all the pages. I got the pages to look as intended in Firefox and IE, but they look very bad in Safari. I am sure my coding is very amateur and I would appreciate a clean up from an expert. The pages that I have up a http://www.littlebrindle.com/LT/index.html http://www.littlebrindle.com/LT/photos.html http://www.littlebrindle.com/LT/listen.html (no songs have been added yet) Thanks for any help you can give. Blessings. The opening page for a site I am developing does not display correctly in Safari or Chrome, but does in Firefox and IE7. It passes the w3c validation. Not sure what I have missed? site Todd ref: www.nofocusprototype.com/vanallen When viewed in FireFox, Opera and Camino, the menu bar and video footer are both perfectly aligned with the video box. In Safari and Chrome, however, the menu bar and the footer are a few pixels off plus the footer is separated from the bottom of the video box by a 1 or 2 pixel space. I could naturally adjust the menu bar and footer to display properly in Safari and Chrome, but then they would not display properly in the other browsers. This is certainly a Catch-22 situation. Anyone know a fix for this? BTW, I note that many people have display issues with Safari--one Apple rep told a questioner to get FireFox! I am having display problems in Safari (3.1.1). All other browsers installed in my computer show the site correctly: Opera 9.21 Chrome 1.0.154.43 IE 7.0.5730.11 Here is the page: http://www.shootthehead.com/safari.htm Any help is appreciated. |
