HTML - Huge Space In Page Unsure Why
Hi all,
I'm not an html guru by any standards. I have a problem where my page shows a huge gap between the movie and comments area. Can anyone advise on this? We are falling behind in the energy sector as Americans. I have,<br>
in the past, been called unpatriotic for saying that on this issue America is a<br>
backwards nation. We
import more oil and other forms of energy than almost any other<br>
nation on the planet, but
the time will soon come when this changes. </p>
<p> Throughout the country investment is growing in clean energy and energy jobs of the future.<br>
Mentor has the ability to be at the forefront of this new movement. Mentor has an abundant<br>
amount of renewable resources; wind, solar, and wave. </p>
<p>In many fields companies are going belly-up. Green companies are the only ones that are<br>
still springing up and they are expanding at record rates. </p>
<p>We can make Mentor a green city on a blue lake, in this instance green will have two<br>
meanings.
We will bring money into our economy and we will bring high-paying,<br>
stable jobs of the future to the shores of Mentor. </p>

Unemployment is at 10.8 percent, families are losing their income, and nobody is addressing the problem. The labor market is growing, while employment opportunities are decreasing. In the last six months eight hundred and sixty-seven jobs have been lost, even more hours have been cut. . .
<p>I could keep going on and on about the recession, but this campaign isn't about sulking and complaining about the economy. This campaign is about standing up and making a difference. </p>
<p>We can produce jobs in a number of ways. One way is attracting companies to Mentor by providing tax incentives, using a grant program. Another way is specifically targeting energy production. Mentor has an abundant amount of renewable resources; waves, solar, and wind. We can produce energy at a local level and curb our dependence on foreign oil and other outdated, imported forms of energy. Investing in the future of energy will bring jobs to Mentor; installing, maintenance, and maybe even production. We need jobs of the future here in Mentor, if we want to be competitive in the future. </p>
<p>If elected, I will be able to be that much closer to the ears of higher government. I will push cutting taxes for the people and small businesses that are hiring workers. I will push for more funding for our libraries, so that more positions can be filled. I will push for an educational program that allows students to go off to Lakeland, and other local colleges, to learn skills that they can bring back to Mentor.</p>
<p>We need to adapt to a more progressive money-making economy. I hate to say it, but we're falling behind. It's about time we catch-up.</p>

I hope this isnt beat down.. i did a qick search but im reaallyyy tired right now so please excuse my ignorance in this area In IE 7, some of my pages are displaying white space at the top of the page. The page is made up of a frame, so that I can have an advert at the top of the page that scrolls down as the visitor scrolls down. The problem is that when you go to the page there is a large gap at the top of the page. I have checked the code, but I cannot see what could be causing this. Any help would be appreciated. I don't understand why there is white space at the bottom of the page. I am using negatives which one would assume would take away space and not add it. Below is the HTML and CSS codes. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? I taught myself HTML, so I'm not the greatest at it, but I get by. My problem is that on a page I am currently working on (and it's happened to me in the past as well) there is a small space at the bottom of the page that shouldn't be there. It's weird because it's there when the page first loads, but when I refresh it goes away. But why is it there in the first place. There's no stray <br> tags or anything and this is very basic HTML code, including tables. I don't see any other sites with this problem, what in the world could it be? I just asked a friend, and I don't think he's seeing it. The space is very noticeable. It's kind of embarrassing, a wrestling related page, but I'll include the link. I am using Internet Explorer, by the way. And I just noticed than when I click the link in my bookmarks, and hit "open in new tab", the space isn't there. Just odd. Anyway, here it is: http://steenerico.fwrestling.com/ Well, that link won't do any good, because apparently when it opens in a new window, the space doesn't show up. Argh. Try opening a new browser window and pasting the link into the address bar. Reference: http://investorsconnection.net So if you load it up in FF, you see that there is a stripe that goes across the bottom of the page and it is flush to the bottom of the window. That is how it is supposed to be. In IE there is a space below that greyish stripe, and it's not supposed to be there. I can't figure out why! The stripe is div id "footer_bg". (20 textboxes, 10 textareas, 40 checkboxes). Besides this the textual inputs must be present for 4 different languages. I mean if there is a textarea for description then there must be 3 others as well for description in different languages. In this case the form becomes very big and hard to fill for the admins. Does anybody has an idea how to make it as user friendly as possible? I'm making a webcomic system. It has first/next/last/latest buttons on it and a drop down menu to go to a specific comic. The problem is in the menu. I made it and it works perfectly. The only problem is when I make a new comic I would have to update all 100-or-so comic html pages to show the new comic in all of the drop down directories. How do I update one page to show all of the comics on the same drop-down form? Hey Guys Im after hitting a huge brick wall with a college proj. I have created a web-site with dreamweaver. Its saved as .php. I opened it todyay and once the browser opens new pages keep opening. Only way to stop it is to kill the page. I have tried opening it in explorer and it just crasher explorer. Hello I am a total newbie to html and I am sure this can probably be answered in a second.... I am trying to make my title text very large to make a statement - maybe 5 cm high. It doesnt seem to matter how big i make it in my nvu editor, ( in the normal screen mode) once i upload it to my webspace online it only appears at a much smaller size. I can make it so the title literally fills the screen in my nvu editor and then upload it to my webpage and it still restricts the maximum size it shows it at. Does it sound like i am doing something wrong in my nvu html editor or should i be using some html text in the source mode to make the large text recognisable to my webspace, ie: using some font size comands? I hope this makes sense.
