HTML - Dropdown Text Field Question
Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I want to know if it possible to make a drop down menu and then when you click on the content inside it adds it to a plain text field. This is for a form I'm making for my website...I just don't know how to do this. Oh and a button to remove the content again. Any help is appreciated. I want to be able to add a line of text to the message, which the user can not delete. In my site a user rolls down to the correct state and then hits the go button. This sends the user to a web page for that state. Shaun I have a form field that I want to remember the text that was put into it after the submit button is pressed......do i need to do that with cookie or is there a way to make a form field remmber the last inputed data?.....for clarity's sake i don't mean for it to remember the data when a user comes back to the page just while they are visiting it. Ok so i've recently started html. Moving along, I'm reading a book on xhtml and its talking about hidden fields. Now I get the general idea of what it is used for, but how would it be implemented in a website? or at least can someone give me a better explanation than this one paragraph in this book. Also, I'm seeing foo a lot when talking about the name attribute...it came out of nowhere. Why are they naming stuff foo? I have created a drop down selection list using PHP that will allow users to create the elements of the selection list and organize them them under user defined catagories, by typing the names of the catagory and entry into fields and clicking a button to add them to the list. By clicking on the entries on the list the user will be able to cause user defined actions to be performed. Just as an example, the user could create the following drop down selection list: Car manufacturers Ford Mercedes Honda Motorcycle manufacturers Harley Davidson Suzuki Honda The problem comes when I try to allow the user to delete an entry by clicking on it and then clicking a delete button.] As you can see from the example above, the word "Honda" appears under two optgroup catagories. If the user clicks on the second one, there is currently no way for the PHP script to distinguish which "Honda" entry they mean. In fact the script would go through the list and delete the fist one it comes across, which is the wrong one. How can I send the value of the optgroup that an entry is listed under along with the entry itself, so that they script can identify which entry the user is clicking on? I tried some tags in the optgroups but they don't seem to get sent to the server. Hello, I'm trying to create a text field on my site, and I want that when a user enter his zip code, and then press enter, he will be directed to another website. We are one of the biggest Youtube Optimizers on the net. We are the ones that get your videos to the top We have just been building a whole new site. Ok Basically it is set up to where there are multiple packages for the user to order. Each package they can pick how many videos they would like to have optimized. I have started with this script but i'm lost. I'm a software developer not real deep in html. All I am needing it to do is if you pick 1 for 1 video only 1 text box appears. If you pick 4 for 4 videos only 4 text boxes appears.(The text boxes are for the user to enter in there Youtube Video url) And of course if they enter in 9 text boxes 9 will appear. The problem right now is it doesn't matter which number you press all 9 text boxes appear. I'm sure this is something very simple I am just not experienced in javascript if statements. Hey, I'm jst starting to learn html and I was someone could give me an example of how to create a a simple form with 2 input fields which are set to a value say "hello" in first field and "World" in second field when the button is clicked. But I want to take multiple entries from the user before he clicks the submit button.But I dont know how many times he will enter data..so how to display the text field multiple times dynamically???? I have three user input text boxes called; "name", "email" and "phone" and one text field to display that information called; "feedback". When a "Submit" button is clicked, the three text boxes are validated to check that what was typed inside them was OK. I then want to display the Users' name, email and phone number on individual lines in the text field, for example, name on line 1, email on line 2 and phone number on line 3. At the minute when I submit the information only the phone number displays on the first line of the text box. In the text field "feedback"; I know the HTML probably interprets my code as; the name is being replaced by the email and then the email is being replaced by the phone number. For instance, if I was on a social networking site and typed about myself in a specific box on my profile. Is it possible to embed or modify my text to have a custom design in its backdrop with something such as a specific code that I may add in? |
