HTML - Converting Plaintext Url To Html Link?

I'm in charge of doing the coding for a site that's been designed by a graphic designer with no knowledge of code. I like his designs, and the client wants me to make the site look exactly like them. They're .psd files representing each page. He sent me almost all of the images, but not the background and not certain key decorations (the guitar pics). I told him I needed the background, but his hard drive died (without being backed up) before he could send it to me. He doesn't seem to remember what font he used either.

In light of all that, and the fact that the client wanted to get a basic version of the site up asap, I just converted the PSD's to JPEG's, uploaded them as whole pages, and used div's and image maps to add links and additional content. But that is obviously not a long-term solution. In fact, it's causing browser compatibility issues right now. And it's not accessible . . . etc.

So I need to replicate these page design images using HTML or XHTML, and CSS. I can probably find a similar background and font to work with, but I just don't know where to begin. I haven't worked with CSS in years, but it looks like I'd probably need to use it.

I'm not asking anyone to do my job for me. I'm just wondering how you would approach this task. Does anyone have time to look at the images and point me in the right direction?

The navigation works with Safari and Firefox.

I have several links on my site, all in the form of <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">mywebsite</a>

How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed.

I'm a MAC new user.

I start study HTML + CSS

I make two file one for .HTML and the other for .CSS

when I try to link css in html I con't I don't know why.

this is the code line:

and this is my file path:
/Users/Sameer/Exercise/Website/header/css/main.css

when I run the HTML it can't recognize the CSS file and it can't launch it.

Can you please help me to link both file?

Note: both file in the same folder named Exercise

i am new here and thank you what i am looking to do is i want to link a pic to a website so when you mouse click it it goes to website that i have figgered out what i cant is if the pic on his page changes can i get this link to change to what ever they change it to

kinda like what face book does with are you interested they take you profiile pic and if it changes then the if you liek me pic changes but if you click on it it got to your profile

I need help with HTML problem that i am having.

I am using Dreamweaver to design a web site. I have created a music link

In Browser when I click this link it opens window Media player and starts to play the mp3 file but my main web page is replaced with blank page and i can not understand why the main page is replaced with blank page.

I'm kinda new to HTML/CSS. I am making a website in Dreamweaver 8. I'm having trouble doing something, and I don't even know if it is possible. I made a page using CSS and DIV tags to define each pane. Now the center (main) pane will show whatever page you want to display (ie. Home, Media, Contact, etc.). I made each page as a separate HTML file (ie. Home.html, Contact.html, Media.html, etc.), is there a way to link each of these pages to the main pane (div tag) so I can keep all other panes unchanged (menus, banner, etc.) and just display the content in the mentioned center pane? Thanks!

I am having trouble with the following site here and the weather image at the bottom not being to the correct size. The image is hotlinked from another site, and I do have permission to do this! The image is automatically generated by scripts on that sites server every 5 minutes with new weather information.

As my image has to always be a certain size and I suspect the original image located on the other website changes it's size as the weather updates, I clearly have a problem with pixel ratio's and an often unclear image...

Thus, I would much rather scrap using the image and simply have the raw-text in this image on my site. If you look at the source for the site here, there is this piece of code:

Now, the details above (last reading, temperature, etc) obviously change every 5 minutes too. How can I link a page on my website to these above changing details on another website and then format the text to my styles and use only the text which I need (around half of what is above?

I hope I have made my dillema clear .

I am in good contact with that sites webmaster therefore once I find a good method for doing this I will of course ask the webmaster for his permission again .

I am new in this forum. I have a problem here please help me. I have a large number of links for navigation menu I don't want to instert these links in every pages again and again. I want to keep these links in one page but I am anable to link this page (HTML Code) in other pages. I am not interested in frames. Is there any other way, if yes then please help me.

I want my html file, when accessed directly from the browser, to open a different web-page (which is a php script that calls my html file when it's done).
But if my html file was reffered to from that page, it's ok - open it.
How can I achieve this?

Background: I have created an simple web browser using javascript and an IFRAME. The contents of the website displayed in the IFRAME have a chat program and message board that my students don't need access to.

Problem: I need to remove the functionality of these two applications from the browswer I've created.

Since the webpage is loaded into my IFRAME, is there someway I can add a script or string replacement function that would change the URL in the IFRAME to a null value? Perhaps I'm wording this incorrectly, and would explain why I can't find information on it? Any help would be appreciated!

I have a PHP application that our company uses for basically everything. Now I'm needing to add hyperlinks to folders on the shared drive on the server, since this is now where everyone will be storing the files they work on. The map drive is on the same server as the website but so far I have been unable to figure out the syntax for the hyperlink in order to be able to open the folder contents. Any ideas on how I could do this?
