HTML - Issues With Tables In Ie...grr!

thanks for opening this thread im having a few issues with my website, for some reason in IE the tables/pics are not aligned in the same way they are in dreamweaver, firefox or safari... anyone help curing this problem so its fine in firefox or safari, but silly in IE. heres the page http://www.spawellingborough.co.uk thanks in advance Nim Similar TutorialsI am not the most technically inclined, so the wording may be iffy ... but I noticed that when I use a table to align images (like jpegs or gifs), my webpages get skewed only when I view them in Windows internet explorer 8 (things seem to be okay in Mozilla, Safari, Chrome, etc etc) ... anyone know why? here is an example: I put an image with a width="32" and a height="29" into a 'TD' tag (data for table) that is also designated a dimension of 32 by 29 pixels ... for some reason in explorer the images skew the table and distort my webpage. note: I set in the table tag: cellpadding = 0 cellspacing =0 border=0 ALSO i set inside the img src tag a 'border=0' to be safe look at the following example (in explorer 8 then the other browsers that seem to work): http://missko.shacknet.nu/cityofrose...bleexample.htm .. in the first (very small) image to the left you can see a green background color just below the image (only in Windows internet explorer 8) meaning it did not fit within the 'table data' boundaries for that particular table. i hope this makes ANY sense .. this is driving me CRAZY! it is happening with ALL my stuff .. i have a feeling there is no way around this. any ideas? thanks. Hi Normally, when you have more than one table in your code, the tables will be placed one under each other. Example: <table> ... </table> <table> ... </table> When you want the tables to be placed next to each other, you need to set the align attribute. Example: <table align="left"> ... </table> <table align="left"> ... </table> BUT: When you do it like in the 2nd example (tables next to each other), in Firefox, the tables will wrap to a new line if there is no more space. In Internet Explorer, the tables will not wrap. The result is a horizontal scrollbar or "hidden tables". Why this? How can I make the tables wrap also in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox? Is it possible with a special CSS definition or with a special DIV/SPAN tag? Thanks for your help praiser Hey everyone, I'm new to these boards. Somewhat a newbie at web design, but I know basics. I'm looking to put 2 tables adjacent to each other inside another table. My problem is I can't get the tables to line up the way I want them to. (Specifically talking about the "Highlights" box) It looks fine in firefox but not on IE. I've tried everything to fix it, I don't know what to do! The width dimensions for some reason are way off. Now I've been working on the fantasy football site the past few days getting ready for the fantasy season... but when I look at the site on IE we have a few issues going on... here they a 1. text rendering on the image switcher... why does the text look bold? The info there is using the default font-size of 13px which I set... I'm assuming that probably has something to do with it. 2. The poll part 1 Why on earth is the question indented 6px? The links in the "newest articles" section are set to indent 6px... but I set that on the list... the question of the poll isn't even in a list and it somehow got indented... 3. More crappy text rendering on the poll answers... now I'm seeing the results because I voted and the text looks absolutely horrendous... no idea why either. Simply put I want to have a top bar, that will function as header, and a bottom bar, that will function as a footer. I've tried the following solution but it just doesn't seem to work. Alright, so I have this site on which I need a certain part of the site (the content part where the main text bit is) to extend down to the bottom (and preferably no longer), so that if the window is smaller or bigger the text will still just go all the way down to the bottom of the page, and when the text is further down that div will have a scrollbar so you can scroll through the text. The main issue is making it so the end of the div is always on the bottom of the page. (I've tried height=100% on that div but then it just goes below the bottom for some reason.) This is the site. The reason the height of main=1500px is that that's not gonna be scrollable anyway, and I just added a random value to assure that went to the bottom no matter what. Thanks for any help. Wasn't really sure where to put this, sorry if it's the wrong place.. EDIT: Just encountered an additional issue, being that the navigation menus (to the left) look off in IE. The background seems not to start where the div starts. Suggestions? I'm experiencing an issue when using DIVs in DIVs.. I have a container-DIV and a content-DIV, and I would like the container-DIV to stretch vertically as necessary based on how much content is in the content-DIV. Code: <html>

This is basically the code I'm using... whenever the content amount pushes the divContent lower than the bottom of the divContainer, it just overflows out and down the page. What am I doing wrong? Edit: OOPS I set height to 100px on the divContainer, it was supposed to be 100% Hello, I've been having trouble laying out my website. I'm quite new to HTML, so if you could give me the simplest answer possible it would be appreciated. As of right now I have an image aligned to the top of my page, and two side by side tables underneath it. However, although the tables are aligned the way I want them in Mozilla Firefox (the tables being directly under the image), when I display my site in Internet Explorer the tables are beside the image. I found that I could insert page breaks until the image fit where I wanted it in Internet Explorer, then, however, the tables were further away from the image in Mozilla firefox. If anyone could tell me how to fix this problem it would be most appreciated. I'm designing a product form for a website at the moment, the basics of it are all there and completed, I've just run into a few snags with things that should've been very simple. First off I'm trying to design a preview area which takes its information from a bunch of dropdowns. Theres just one tiny problem, I know its tiny, but I can't seem to find it. So you may wanna turn your sound off if you look at it. Firefox looks fine. Internet Explorer looks rather dumb. 1. Alignment is off 2. One of the links doesn't work 3. Within the site, the main content box adjusts itself according to text (please click reddish image to see) Does anyone know how I can fix this? (I'm sure many people have had this problem.
