HTML - Issues With Webpage Design Please Help
Hey,
im fairly new to php and html etc and have created a design but am having issues getting the page to display correctly you may be able to fix this issue or help me fix it in seconds for me here is my link http://marksie.webhop.org/hyenahosting/untitled-1.html as you can see the background finishes under the menu instead of finishing below all the content please help Thanks Steve EDIT: Looks like in IE it displays better than Firefox but IE just misses the footer!! ok so now i have pinned it down to being my float:right which positions the text etc on the right to the sidebar now im stuck on what else i can use to float right Similar TutorialsI am building a site that has a page with some bullet points, at the end of each point will be a link saying more info, the more info will be scanned in documents which I have had to make 750px wide so they are still readable, The best way I can see to do this is when the more information link is clicked the scanned document relating to the point will open in a new window with just this image only on the page. Sadly the scanned images cant be typed up as text as it is the actual scanned document that needs to be seen. Just interested in anyback in case there is a better way of doing this. Cheers Ian I modified text on a web page yesterday for a client and added an image to it as well. I simply copied existing code that was to be commented out, modified the text and image file name, commented out the previous code and then uploaded the file, via FTP, to the server. On my machine it looks terrible when I go to the client website and access the page via their link. All of the horizontal lines are at the top instead of between sections as it should be. However, if I just double click the HTML file directly it opens fine. It also opens fine on a co-workers machine regardless of how he does it. The client sees it fine too. I have not been able to find a reason why this is happening and I went back through the code twice more, redoing my work, to make sure I was not commenting something out that shouldn't be. I use I/E 8 and my co-worked uses I/E 6. I don't know about the client but since I can see it fine when I double-click the file itself I don't think that is the issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as we do updates for this client pretty regularly. Thanks, Doug Ok I need to take things like this forum: http://lmiinc.com/forum/ http://lmiinc.com/forum/calendar.php And make it active on the new site I'm building for LMI. So what files exactly do I need to copy to the new directory & then reference as a link in my navigation bar in all of my .html files? Sorry if i posted this in the wrong location. So im a real estate agent making a website. Im no pro and most of the stuff ive been using to build has been through layouts/generators/help of others such as yourselves. So ive been stuck on finding/making this code for the past couple of days. So all my listings are on my agencys website, not my personal agent website. Is there a code i could have where in the listings page my my personal agent website, i could have a window maybe 600x900 of the listing page on my agencys website? To kind of clear things up, you know how when you google something you have the magnifying glass, how it gives that preview. How can i have that preview coded onto a webpage, but me say what webpage to preview and how big to make the preview box? Tried to explain it as best i could. If you dont know the code, if you can tell me what its called so i can try to narrow the google searches. So far everything that has been coming up in the search restults has been preview boxes to preview html codes you have already written. Fail Blog Thanks Hey guys, This is my problem...---> http://triplestarnews.com/needhelp.jpg the original code is found on this page http://triplestarnews.com/main any ideas?? thanks! Eric Hi there Sorry, i don't know if this is the correct section of the forum to put this in. What I really want to know is, how do you get webpages to look like this: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lov...ign-mpt=uo%3D2 Can this be done using HTML and CSS alone? I'm only referring to the design part of it, not what the page is able to do. Like play songs for example. Thanks Jackie xxx I know HTML pretty good and I can get by w/ CSS - but what else should I know for web design? Hi! I had my test webpage where i test my designs, scripts etc. working well but then my little brother change some stuff in both the html file and css file, I already fixed a lot but I don't know what's wrong now. If for user to use the web browser to open the text file in local drive, read the text file contents and plot the line graph base on the data in the text file, what is the most suitable design to use ? first i think of use the php to read the dynamic data , but php request to install the appserver, too complicate for user. if i use purely html, with some plug in like flash, is it possible to read the dynamic data in the text file and plot to the flash ? please advice me, many thanks. Hi: Currently, I'm making my web pages 'by hand'. That is, I use an editor, and laboriously crank out and test my pages on IE, safari, FireFox and Opera. But this is agonizingly slowwwwww ! What tools do *professional* webbers use to build sites ?? What would you folks here suggest as a useful tool for web-building that would speed up my building, but result in clean editable pages ? (btw, I'm an expert database man, but quit a neophyte in web design.) My 'forte' is building Windows business applications (Inventory, Accounting, etc, etc) using xBase database software (i.e., the xHarbour language). I can hardly wait until I can get 'behind-the-scenes' and do database work to back up my (pathetic) designs. Thanks for any hints. -Mel Smith Mesa, Arizona Hi i'm designing a static sub menu and thought it would be cool to get suggestions on what approaches you guys would take. The reason i'm asking is because i'd like to see if my approach exhibits efficient coding. This is an image mockup of what i'm trying to achieve. And this is what i'm thinking of doing. Thanks in advance guys. Hi My latest design is 2 columns one for navigation the second for content. My problem is with positioning. I want to be able to add an image at the bottom of the navigation column which will always be at teh bootom no matter how big the content area grows. The idea is my navigation will be at the top and the image or possibly images will be at the bottom. Is there an easy way around this with CSS? i could use tables and have it align to bottom but i don't want to use tables if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated as the design is almost finished and i hope to make a start on coding this afternoon. I will post the example code soon for you guys to see how i've put it together and hopefully will just be able to change one line or somthing for me. CC_DESIGN Hello! I need a website built and have very basic knowledge of html. I will be selling t-shirts and need a professional looking web page. I want the customer to be able to select a variety of options for each t-shirt, starting with size. Once size is picked, the available options for colors will reduce to the available colors for that size t-shirt. Once color is picked, the available options for the type of shirt will reduce whatever types of red XL t-shirts I have in stock (v-neck, button up, tee, etc). As well as t-shirts I will also be selling other product, which will just be added to cart, with no customization. I would also like a shipping estimate for the customer's cart based on their zipcode. I also need a referral program added into the site. I want to be able to give some my url with their code in the string that will automatically add 30% of the profit they generate on my site. Note: this is profit made from each product, not revenue. I want them to be able to be able to check their balances quick and easy. This is the basic layout I would like, if you have any other ideas feel free to implement them or ask my opinion. I will choose the design that I feel is: a.) simple to use and edit, b.) looks professional, c.) user friendly. Thank you for your time and their will be more chances at making money from your home in the future. Hello, I've been working on the design for this website - http://www.keison.co.uk/test/ . The side menus are in javascript, which I realise is not a generally good thing, as this website's search engine rankings are important. However, my way to combat this is to use the text links at the bottom of the page (specifically the Product Index) to list the other pages on the website, so that technically every single page can be indexed via standard text links. My question is by doing the above, will this have any adverse effect on search engine rankings? Any help is appreciated. Hi, I would like to design a table just like in the Image. I am new to web design. I also want to display the text same as the one in the image, ie., Vertical text.. Can someone please help me out. Thanks Rajagopalan. What's the best book to learn web design please? I was leaning towards the Head First Web Design book but don't like most of the reviews on it even though I love the other Head First books, is this the best book on web design or is there any other[s] that's better? Hey all.. I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out what to do with my header area: http://showball.com Any suggestions? If certainly needs something more then there is now, there's to much empty space. Any thoughts would be certainly welcome. I seem to be a little stymied with this one.. Thanks David I would like to know if any one would like to make a web site for me i cant pay you. But if you would like The experience and or practice I would really like the Help. Im trying to copy the design of http://www.bluelounge.com but for the content instead of a page, i was trying to make it iFrame. Because i will be putting a streaming music on the Nav bar on the left, and its not going to be moving so its just stuck there while the iframe resizes and scrolls on different pages. What im having trouble with is, i have no idea on how to code the iFrame so that its the main scroll bar and i dont know how to automatically resize it. The main page for the iFrame is going to be the contents of a blog from blogspot.com Can someone help me please? Thanks! Here is what i want. |
