HTML - Uml Diagram(usage & Explanation)
Hi,
What is exacly a UML diaram?is it similar to a flowchart? Is it necessary to use UML diagram on a webpage? Which application offers the right tools for this UML diagram? I'm more to dreamweaver and currently i can't do the UML diagram using this application. Does dreamweaver need any plugin or i need to get an appropriate software for UML diagramming? best regards, najeeb Similar TutorialsBasically, I am using a site that only allows its members to add basic HTML (not scripts or JS or CSS) in its layout. I have done a lot of stuff already, but I have a question if what I want to do in the diagram below is possible just with HTML. It is basically pretty simple, except that I can't seem to get the code to work to make only part of a page (specified area/rectangle) a certain background color or image and then still be able to embed a couple image URL's (buttons) on top of it, as well as formatted text I choose. Does it have something to do with using
code? If I can get the images (as buttons) mounted against that area/rectangle, I'm pretty sure I know how to make them hot links to another site. However, the final kicker is I want the buttons to be a default image normally, but then switch to another image of the same size when someone mouses over it, and that when clicked is also the hot link to the URL . That is the part I know little about. Is anyone here genius enough to just look at my diagram and write me the code, and just substitute generic values for where I'd put the specific image URL's, text formatting and parameters I specify? I hope this diagram helps, thanks a lot to anyone who can do this for me!!! Hi There, I do not work normally with xhtml (doing C++ for quite a while) so my question might be rather basic. I am looking for explanation on the following (I spent a day reading the specs but could not figure it out). What is the meaning of (from xhtml1-transitional.dtd) the code snippet below, what is the logic to interpret it? I have problem understanding what the dot means in the entity declaration, so, for example if someone could explain the first line, like %special.extra refers to extra or special or to object/applet/img/map/iframe tags and mean that, and can appear in the xhtml code like that - it would be highly appreciated. Also, as far as I understand, special is the composite of special.extra and special.basic. What is the reason those are separated? And, how do I know that those apply for text elements only (except for the comment which I suppose should not be parsed; or should it)? Thanks Code: <!ENTITY % special.extra "object | applet | img | map | iframe"> <!ENTITY % special.basic "br | span | bdo"> <!ENTITY % special "%special.basic; | %special.extra;"> I know this is totally newbish question, but i searched google and no luck. Can somebody tell me please, why do some of the tags end with /> chars, not just > Thanx Hi all, Ive been using the X11 colour set found on this link below, and it contains some interesting colours but would it be possible to use more colours than shown? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors I was looking to make a table with 20 shades of blue as different backgrounds, would that be possible for example? Thanks! Hello! I've got a question regarding proper header usage. First, I'd like to describe how I want my page to look like (both layout-wise and semantically): Code: [ Short description] TITLE OF BOOK Short description here... blah blah blah... Once upon a time... Summary here... [ User Reviews] Review #1 Review #2 Now, the text in brackets [ ] is basically the description of the next text section. Intuitively, I'd use
for them, because they are the top-most headers. But here are the problems: I've read on more than one occasion that it is good for SEO to have a meaningful text inside
that describes the page content. If
contains just "Short Description" or "User Reviews" and that on every book review page, this is bad. The more appropriate way to do this, it seems, is to use
for the BOOK TITLE only, and use something else to introduce sections. So something like HTML Code:
Short description

BOOK TITLE HERE

User Reviews
but this also seems like a bad idea. So, how do it correctly (with respect to HTML and SEO) without having to redesign my layout in any way? (That is, I don't want to put the book title anywhere else, e.g. not above the section title) Thanks in advance Hi all, I thought you might find this report of interest... It is released by www.handsetdetection.com every month and basically gives an insight into mobile web usage and in particular, which are the preferred handsets for consumers to surf the mobile web, by Country. If you are looking to better understand the growing mobile web sector, and the implications that this has on web marketing, design and development, the data is quite useful. You can check it out here http://bit.ly/RawReports Cheers David I have a webpage that has about 100 links on it. All of them point to the same 900+ page document, but go to a different page. This document changes, so that a page may get added prior to a certain page. because of that, I'd prefer not to have to hardcode each of the 100 page numbers. I'd like to have a rolling reference page, so that if the first link started on page 150, and the second link would go to page 155, then I'd like for it to be #page=var1+5. Here is the hardcoded version that I've started creating: O15_test_setup .... page 5-16 the #page=155 would be indicative of the second link above. I'd like to set up an array that i can use in the href tag for each of these links, that will allow me to goto the correct page. and if a page gets added, then it would only take one change to update the file. I've also looked for a way to open the PDF file, and search for the "O15_test_setup" text, but haven't found a way to do that. My thought of how it could be done is with javascript, declare the array, and fill in the array. Something like array(1,1) = first link text (http://...pdf_file.pdf#page=150) array(1,2) = first link displaytext (O14_test_setup) array(2,1) = second link text (http://...pdf_file.pdf#page=155) array(2,2) = first link displaytext (O15_test_setup) Then in the HTML part of the file, have something like What is the correct way to do this?
