HTML - New With Html, Trying To Make An Online Store; Help Me Out Guys
Hey guys,
I'm new to HTML... Well not completely new, I know the basics like how to bold stuff, how to make a new paragraph, line-breakers, all that easy stuff. Now I have a project to do by the end of this summer... I'm expected to make a site where people can Rent Toys online (dont ask ) . So I have to be able to have Paypal Access in my site. Now I need a bit of help... I started reading a couple of tutorials on this site and I'm trying my best to understand them. My question is, where do I start writing or developing my site? I can't just put it on Microsoft Word, there has to be a web page developing server or site I can use.... Any recommendations? I can pay whatever the cost is; After all in the end (if I finish everything) my reward is breath-taking... If there is a specific web developing company or server that deals with Paypal, or online purchasing, that would be helpful information to know as well. Thanks guys! That's all the questions I have for now Similar TutorialsI have this website that i run for a person selling select products. Everything is going fine, but it would really help if i could make an adminstrator's page for the client, that would let them input a picture, name, description, price and have that posted to the product listing page. Ive seen some related posts in different places that mentioned use of php and mysql, but i havent found the right combo for what im looking for. If someone could help me out, it would be very appreciated. Hey guys thanks to a hand full of sleepless nights, and some valuable guidance I received from some of you guys I finally have my first site-www.palmettogoldandsilver.com up and running smoothly... even on IE! So now I want to expand the site so I can list items on it for sale. I would like to list items with prices and have visitors be able to purchase the items online. Where do I go first? lol What do I need to do to get a shop up and functioning? Javascript? php? other? If someone could lay out some steps to take it would be great help thanks -Travis im having trouble in finding a way to transfer the infos ive collected in 1st and 2nd pages going to 3rd page. e.g. Quote: 1st page: First Name: ___________ <--- the user will input his first name 2nd page: Last Name: ___________<--- the user will input his last name 3rd page: My name is [first name] [last name].. <----- will display the user's first and last name.. i already made a code for this program but my problem is only the information in the 2nd page is shown in the 3rd page.. there's still a problem *sob*.. need help pls.. Anyone know of an inexpensive and SEO friendly way to display book pages in an online html reader? I am developing a bookstore website where people can read the entire book online before buying, and the option of using an online flash-based PDF reader doesn't work for SEO. In the html format, the books would have to be displayed page by page so people couldn't steal and distribute the entire book easily. Is the only way to do this by programming every page or is there a program, script or compiler that is good for SEO and will do the job cheaply? There are many online libraries that have hundreds of thousands of pages readable online, so how do they do it cheaply? Thanks. Hi guys, I need a help from you guys. I'm having some html pages, and i want to give the option to change the background and font color in the html pages by clicking buttons. And that setting should be saved in the user system, when the user loads the page again in the system, that the page should load with the saved settings. I don't want to go for server side scriptings. Is it possible just in html and Java script. Can you guys help me in this. Thanks in Advanse Kumar Hello everyone. Below is the html code for a quiz i want to use for my website. What I want to do is, upon completion of the quiz, have 2 new text-entry forms and 1 "submit" button form appear at the bottom of the page asking the user to input one's name and email address before they can submit the results of their quiz. Both fields would be required.. <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <title>Knowledge Assessment Tool</title> <script src="assessment.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="quiz.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="quiz.css" type="text/css"> </head> <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <p><font color="#2431A2"><u><b>10 Point Quiz</b></u></font></p> <div id="quiz1"></div> <div id="quiz2"></div> ** </body> </html> ** denotes where the text and submit button would show up after the quiz is completed asking the user for name/email address. As you can tell I have no clue how to acheive this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. please help me guys!!! im trying to find a html code that allows people download a pdf files from the website that im trying to make..anyone out there help me.. Hey, I need to set up a ****ty little page like this one so that our vendors can download our delivery items from one place. http://www.shorelineent.com/del/index.html Obviously, setting up the links on the page is no problem, but what I can't figure out is how to get it to prompt them for a password before they can download the file like it does there. Can anyone give me any ideas? I feel like I should know this... I am working on this website: http://www.djcarchitect.com/portfoli...tprojects.html I want to add about 30 extra projects on the left side, under Current projects. I want this to be able to scroll vertically, so that it doesn't stretch my page down. I tried using an iFrame for the links, but whenever I clicked on a link inside the iframe, it opened up the target page within the iframe as well (it was all smushed). I would ideally like to have a ton of those links, be able to scroll vertically, and open in the same window without adding more windows for the people on the site. Any help please? Thank you! Hey everyone, I designed a site for a client of mine. He developed a weather radar program and he wants to sell the idea to various news organizations. The site that I'm designing is for WCBS 880 radio. Here is the test page - http://zoomradar.com/wcbs880 Anywho, this is the problem I'm having. I have two iframes on the page. One for the actual map and one for the weather forecast which we are using from the national weather service site (don't worry, we are allowed too). Here is the problem.... The forecast iframe is causing a bend/distortion in the radar map iframe about 3/4 of the way down. My client says you can't miss it and he has sent me pictures too because I can't see it myself. He says that he sees it on windows computers using the latest firefox. I'm wondering if any of you can verify this and maybe guide me towards a solution because I can't seem to figure one out. He says that the bend is in the shape of the iframe almost like it is hovering over the radar map but not really creating a mirror image??? Not sure if this makes sense to any of you. Hopefully you see what he's seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm getting to the bottom of the barrel here. Thank you very much in advance - Dan I need to have this text in html. I need only the text, no table. My problem was, that when i changed the fontsize, a new paragraph was created. But i want it on one line. Thanks Alright guys here's my problem. I uploaded an .swf to this site: http://img88.imageshack.us/my.php?im...rnsred2uz0.swf From there I copied the code at the very bottom :: Right across from HTML (<embed src='http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8120/augustburnsred2uz0.swf' quality='high' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='640' height='480'></embed><br/><a href='http://www.imageshack.us/'>[Upload your own video]</a>) So I want to be able to do two things. First off, I want to be able to put that entire code into a scrolling box on my website (it's a band banner and I want others to have the code to use). I know I can use the code on forums because they use BBC (or whatever), but how would I make it so the code reads inside a box without the banner popping up? My second question is :: From the imageshack link I gave you you can click on it and it will direct me to my myspace. But when I place the code into my myspace, the link doesnt work anymore (getting rid of the point of a banner!) I was wondering if there was some sort of an <a herf... type code to get the link back and working? Thanks guys, I hope you guys are nice!! Hello. I just joined the forums because I want to start making websites again. I used to do it about 3 years ago ( nothing hardcore), but i knew enough to make basic websites. Now, I want to learn the more indepth stuff. Such as Mysql, perl, css, java, javascript etc... i dont even know what someof those are. So heres my question. WHERE SHOULD I START? I want to start from scratch. I dont even rememeber some of the html stuff, so where do you guys think i should start? what are the fundamentals i need to know in order to move on to the more difficult stuff. One last thing, can someone tell me the difference between html/xhtml/xml.. im kinda lost... |
