HTML - Font Anti-aliase On Page Problem
Hi guys,
This is a great site, it will be really useful for me. I am developing a site at www.mediacovered.com and I have an issue on the homepage. If you look at the text in the white box on the right (i.e.Take Control of your media etc.", this looks pretty good on all browsers/platforms. However in the white bar near the bottom which has a javascript content slider script on it and shows core services, it seems in Internet Explorer only (Fine in firefox), the font is anti-aliasing and looks jagged. Can anyone else see this and shed some light on why it's doing it? The font in Lucida Grande. Here are the three things I do (not at the same time of course): <font face="Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica"> ... ... ... </font> vs body { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica; } or even... body { font: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica; } Out of all of those, only the first can change the font in my browser...is this a CSS issue because, somehow, the browser has superiority over CSS, and HTML has superiority over the browser? I would appreciate input. Thanks. How do I change the font type for a whole page? I recently updated my homepage to include more text, and moved some of the image buttons around. I noticed however, that if I view the site and increase the size of the font (control+mouse wheel) it also increases the amount of spacing between the buttons, enough to move one of the images to the next row. Is there any way to stop these images from moving? However, header1 will always display as times new romain, not the embedded font. Any ideas? A font called Mangal which comes with the o/s itself is in question. All I want to do is show some text in this font (which is an Indian font, basically) on the browser. But still the text appeared in English itself. The text appears in English itself. Everytime I made changes I tried changing the charset from default to utf-8 to user-defined but the text still remained in English. I tried typing text using Mangal font in notepad / openoffice but it didn't work. Earlier only rectangles appeared. After addition of support for complex script (Control panel -> regional settings -> languages), I am seeing text typed in notepad with Mangal font appearing in English. But still I don't see Hindi text getting typed in Notepad / openoffice-writer and most importantly not in the browser with my html So I'll be most obliged and happy if some one could help me out with basic steps towards writing html document which uses non-english font. Apparently, when user's are looking at my website (it's internal) with IE 7 - the size of the font shrinks to 2 (or even lower). the site looks ok on fireFox/older version on IE. can anyone advise how to fix it? THANK YOU! Does anyone know of a font face generator that can convert a TTF or OTF font file into the 4 formats (woff, svg, eot, ttf), that's not font squirrel? That site only supports English fonts with a very low file size limit, and can't convert any foreign fonts. Already tried http://onlinefontconverter.com as well, doesn't work either as I waited like an hour then the server simply deleted my uploads without so much as an error pop-up lol, and now the website is not responding. Howdy, perhaps someone can help. at my page http://glassbala.com/calculator/calculator.htm either link for the spheres opens a shadowbox. the sphere on the right shows the issue the best the page that loads is the issue. this problem was around before recent shadowbox upgrade. there is a submit box that i have used code to have the box clear when clicked. when the page loads, it ensures that the submit box is visible. this causes the page to autoscroll down so the box is visible. is there an approach so this does not happen? thanks much for any suggestions. peace out... Hello, I am having a problem with Dreamweaver. Whenever I write on a page the area next to the box I'm writing in wont go down so it looks stupid, and I can't manually move it down because I need it to be in a template as I have multiple pages. Yes, it does this on other pages. Here is a picture of whats going on... The arrow in black is where the blue background on the box should follow with the content of the page. This is what I want the final picture to look like. As you can see the blue gets down to where the copy write is so it looks nice Please help, Lil N00b I am a rookie. Surprisingly enuf my web site is about done. I have one very major problem. The index page is written in html and other programs are php. The php programs work perfect and I have a php page that is very wide with small print and it presents perfectly. But....I can't for the life of me figure what the heck I have done wrong with this html page. In ie6 and 7, the web page presents itself just fine unless there is a left sidebar (same with Mozilla). If there is a sidebar (history or favorites on the left of the page), the web page overflows and half of my webpage is on the second page. Is there a way that I can force the webpage to overlap the sidebar. When I look at the page, I have lots of room on the right side of the web page but can't seem to use it. Stupid is as stupid does because I really have no clue what I am doing. Thanks in advance. PS - hope I loaded the files right - I'll know soon A site I work for is using a habbo fansite forum. There using a rare values system by Bobboid. (Project Rare Value) But the page that the forum users are meant to see (with the values on) is completely blank. The system has a CP. I have sorted the table and the images on the 2nd file - but now I have a new problem. When I select the gallery from the index, it loads gallery.htm. I have created a new file called 2gallery.htm with new images. However there is some code which causes the second page of the gallery (2gallery.htm) to open for only a couple of seconds and then the site returns to the index. The same applies when I try to directly navigate to any of the pages. Can anyone identify where this is and how I can make 2gallery work as I have several other pages to ad. I've attached the index, gallery and 2gallery. I have also included the image for the "more" button at the bottom of gallery. I haven't included any of the images of the gallery however. I am making my personal website and in the starting phase of development of HOME page I am getting a problem that when i enable the Yahoo! toolbar or Ask Toolbar the alignment of page changes picutres under <table> tag becomes little down. how to solve this problem? I have slightly changed the layout of my website and it now appears that at the bottom of one of my pages the HTML is different for no reason. Take a look Here and the part saying "Terms and Conditions" is different to everywhere else on the website (click any of the links within the webpage to see how it should look). The HTML coding is the same yet why on this page is the layout messed up? The only thing I can think of is that this webpage contains java script? Thanks in advance, any help appreciated. |
