Thnx in advance Regards mat Similar TutorialsHi everyone. New to the forums and thought I could get some help with regards to my personal website http://judyhuynh.ca Anyways, the problem is the browser compatibility. Just when I thought everything looked OK, I checked it out on my other browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera) but there was one problem with IE. I use Cutenews for blogging and it does not show the line breaks in between paragraphs and it does not show my .png profile picture on the left of the sidebar where there's the quick bio. http://browsershots.org/http://judyhuynh.ca/ Line breaks in Cutenews are generated automatically when typing paragraphs. So I don't know and the .png thumbnail on the left, nooo idea about that. It irritates me because it just looks so ugly on IE, ahha and some people still use that 'not-so-great' browser. Help is much appreciated!!! i want to display wave height data from a noaa buoy that is available and updated via a txt file. how can display this data graphically on a web site instead of just displaying the raw data from the text file? I have three user input text boxes called; "name", "email" and "phone" and one text field to display that information called; "feedback". When a "Submit" button is clicked, the three text boxes are validated to check that what was typed inside them was OK. I then want to display the Users' name, email and phone number on individual lines in the text field, for example, name on line 1, email on line 2 and phone number on line 3. At the minute when I submit the information only the phone number displays on the first line of the text box. In the text field "feedback"; I know the HTML probably interprets my code as; the name is being replaced by the email and then the email is being replaced by the phone number. Here is the relevant section of my code. function validate(){ if (validateName () && validateEmail() && validateformatNumber()){ var myName=document.survey.visitor.value; document.survey.feedback.value=myName; var myEmail=document.survey.email.value; document.survey.feedback.value=myEmail; var myPhone=document.survey.phone.value; document.survey.feedback.value=myPhone; return true; }else{ return false; }} I think the solution could be something simple but I haven't much of an idea of how to do it. Thanks in advance. Hi, thank you in advance for reading and offering advice. I hope I'm using the correct forum. I am returning data from a MySQL database. I want to be able to display this data, without writing out each and every HTML element. I figure if I transform it into XML, I can write something in CSS that formats it in the same way. Does anyone know how good this is, or if I'll simply have an easier time of creating HTML templates for each table that I return? Thank you! Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to html I've been asked to create a webpage for work that is pretty much an on-line diary for where plant & equipment has been. I have done all the easy stuff, but I don't know if it's possible to display and save input in a cronological order as a list. Is it possible to simply use html code and get this task done? To be more specific, the user can enter the arrival and deparature date of equipment, which i need to be displayed and saved. Any help will be greatly appreciated, and please keep in mind that I have limited knowledge with html code and JS. Regards, Daniel. Hi all, Just wondering if someone could help me with the following. I'm exporting large amounts of MySQL data onto a web page and basically what I would like to do is insert that data into a large textbox. I would have put the data into a table; however, if I have a tabel for say "NAME" I'm soon going to run out of space on the web page as I may return 100 of records for that one column. I thought I could simply have a large display window and this would have scroll bars on the side and at the bottom and I can dump my data into that. Can anyone tell me how I could creat such a table which would span the web pages length? I would also like to control this via CSS and make the colour within the text box grey. Many thanks I have a html table that contains data and i want to insert the data into an Access database. Any ideas how to do this? Table1: 01, Rich, Mike, 23, fred lane, 02, James, milner, 45, School Lane, 03, Rob, Matthews, 89, College Road, I connect to the database using this code: $db_conn = new COM("ADODB.Connection"); $connstr = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=". realpath("./Database1.mdb").";"; $db_conn->open($connstr); So I've got a form with some input text. In addition to the data in the input text I want to send some other data that has already been predetermined on initial page load. How would I declare the other data within the form element? Thanks Hi Experts, I am designing a webpage where based on the year selection the associated years webtable needs to be displayed in the webpage. Pls give som suggestions and if possible the code on to how to code this using HTML and Jav Script. I know I have to write afunction and then call the fn based on the input.but need your help on this. Thanks, Bsquare I have been using my site for some time now and it carries the image name over when you clicked on purchasing the print. It carries it still, but when you submit the form, the image name isnt there and the form errors because the field is blank. Here is the site: www.sthompsonphoto.com I cant seem to figure out why it disappears when you click Submit? Any help would be great! Hi everybody! I have a jsp page with a form and a table. My aim is that when i press the submit button of the form, collect the data and fill the table with it. I am working with J2EE. I have already collected the data in a Java class, but I dont know how to introduce this data into the table. Best Regards! I've created a webpage using html and was wondering if there was any way that when I open the file to have the address bar display a "fake" url. That is, when I open the file instead of saying "file:///Users.filename.html" it will say "www.example.com" in the browser's address bar. I'm on Mac OS and my browser is Google Chrome, if that helps. Hello, I've created a table with two columns, the second column is fixed width at 64px and contains a div, the div has a border and contains some text, the text renders to larger than 64px. This is a cut down version of a more complex page to illustrate the problem so just changing it to divs or some such wont help. In IE6 and FF2 the div border automatically stretches to contain the text, in IE7 the div is set to 64px and stays there, I don't think this is the correct behaviour, but I can't seem to find another mention of this problem, could anyone give me some pointers? tia, Dave here's the code or here http://members.iinet.com.au/~daven@powerup.com.au/ and the shorter url http://tinyurl.com/6gnpuc <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <HTML> <BODY> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="width:100%"> <tr valign="top" style="width:100%;"> <td> hello </td> <td style="width: 64px;"> <DIV style="border: solid 1px #0000FF"> dsadsadsdsadas </DIV> </td> </tr> </table> </BODY> </HTML> Hi! I've been working with html for a couple of years, but working with XML, C#, ASP.Net for the past three months and I may be exhausted, but for the life of me I cannot see why the image is not displaying for this page. See code below: <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td align="center"><font face="Times, Arial, Helvetica"><a href="picLHVSMFP.htm" target="main"><img src="../images/picSHVSMFP.jpg" width="324" height="500" alt="Harmony Village - Sheppard - Main Floor Plan" border="0"> </a></font></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center"><font color="#000000">Harmony Village - Sheppard - Main Floor Plan</font></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="center"><a href="picHVSFP4.htm"><img src="../images/rightarrow.gif" width="11" height="10" border="0"></a> <font color="#003333"><a href="future.htm">Future Projects</a></font> <a href="picHVSFP2.htm"><img src="../images/leftarrow.gif" width="11" height="10" border="0"></a> </td> </tr> </table> I have underlined and bolded the image that is not displaying. The other images on the page are displaying and the links work and I have triple-checked the spelling and opened the image with Adobe Photoshop multiple times. I have even tried decreasing the image size, although larger images have displayed on the website without problems. Is there a syntax problem that I am just not seeing? I have attached the image as well. Thanks!!! Hello, I have a web page that is built using components. The footer of the page is a component. When building the page, the footer is added using a glob. In the footer, there is supposed to be a bunch of Korean characters. Currently, they are not displaying properly. When the glob is viewed alone, it is still incorrect. However, if the source is viewed, the Korean characters are correct in the source, but are displaying incorrectly in the page. The charset is already set to UTF-8. What could be the issue here? So, right now I have a single page that loads flash files. It takes the name of the file and the size of the frame from the address bar, then uses that to load the game. However, the problem I have is displaying a tidbit of info about the game. I managed to make it scroll with a nice script, but unfortunately I have no idea how to store the content that goes in the actual iframe. Currently, the frame loads its info from the file itself, by using javascript to get the name of the game and retrieve the valid information. However, this makes the game loader 53 kilobytes, versus the 1-2 kb is was previously. Clearly, this is not an efficient solution - especially if I add more than the 80 or so games I have. Imagine the mess if it was like 1000 games, ugh. I try to add only the quality games though, so I doubt i'll ever reach that number. Quality over quantity, right? Still, what should I do to store the information and quickly look it up without downloading a bunch of information onto the user's computer? Hello, I am having issues with the way my iFrame is displaying in internet explorer. It displays properly in Firefox, i just don't understad what I'm doing wrong the site is: www.mortgagesbykd.com This is probably basic, but it's driving me mad. I want to show a bit of code that the reader can copy. How can i do this? Hi, I am trying to format this page to look like it has two columns, first column = "Action...", second column = "Key...". The html: HTML Code: <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Test title</TITLE> <LINK REL="STYLESHEET" TYPE="TEXT/CSS" HREF="style.css" /> </HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF" TEXT="#000000"> <P><A NAME="keyboard_shortcuts"></A><B>Using the keyboard</B></P> <P>Some text. </P> <P>The following buttons have keyboard shortcut keys:</P> <DIV ID="fields_left"><B><I>Action...</I></B></DIV> <DIV ID="fields_right"><B><I> Key...</I></B></DIV> <HR> <DIV ID="fields_left"><IMG SRC="img1.bmp" ALT="alttext1" BORDER=0 /></DIV> <DIV ID="fields_right">Esc1</DIV> <DIV ID="fields_left"><IMG SRC="img2.bmp" ALT="alttext2" BORDER=0 /></DIV> <DIV ID="fields_right">Esc2</DIV> <P>Related topics</P> <P>some text....</P> </BODY> </HTML> The css: Code: #fields_left { float:left; padding: 10px; text-align:left; width:30%; } #fields_right{ float:left; padding: 10px; text-align:left; width:70%; } I am trying to have an image and text next it as if it was a table with two columns, but it is not coming out as expected: Does anybody know whats going on here ? I'm on XP, IE 7 Hi all, I have a select box in an html form which simply doesn't appear in ie6. I dont know what is relevant to this problem, but loosely, the layout is as follows: <div id="content"> <form> <p class="label"><label for="allocation">Label</label></p> <p class="input"><select name="allocation" id="allocation"> <option value="0">option1</option> ... </select> <div class="clear"></div> </form> </div> the label paragraph is floated left and input floated right, clear simply clears the floats. Other things in the form include tinyMCE textareas and textboxes. The submit button has an onclick handler that validates before returning true or false for php to put values into a mysql database. Everything else works fine but the select box is simply not there in ie6. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Conrad |
