HTML - How Do You Deal With Really Long Lines Of Html/text?
Similar TutorialsHey guys, Thanks to some help on here, my site is now being redone in php form and it is dramatically simplifying my setup. One of my final problems is that google has indexed me as .html... so when I migrate to .php, google is going to point people at dead links. What is the best approach to dealing with this? Do I leave the html site 'live' until I am confident that google has indexed my php site? Can I simply change the html so that it redirects any traffic to the php? How does google view the latter? I imagine that it will rapidly remove the html from its results but can I rely on it to pick up the php in good time? Thanks, Kev I am trying to display some long text in a <PRE> tag to preserve formatting. When there is really long text in a <pre> tag, part of the text is not displaying on the screen when you scroll over. All of the text is there when I do a view source, but on the screen part of it is hidden and only shows up when highlighted with a mouse. I am not sure if there is some kind of character limitation in PRE or what but I just cannot figure this out. And like I said, this only happens in IE. Works fine in Netscape/FireFox Here is the html if you want to look at it yourself in a page. I have com accross a small problem with my first site, the problem is that i have added a few image tags within a <div> element and that when I positioned them using an external css style sheet that the images themselves move but the lines that they were originally on remain there. It is leaving a rather large white gap at the base of my website and is leaving me with fewer strands of hair on my already rather shiny head. A lot of them are just textual changes and I would think my customers can do these themselves by editing a simple .txt file. I was hoping my choices are avalable so that I can just insert this tag into my web pages and then give them login info to their edit page or show them how to upload the .txt file. Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time. The web page has a list of 2000 items for users to select. If more 200 items are selected, it will get URL too long when submitted. The url looks like this: http://aha123.com/do?&i=1&i=2&i=3&i=4...... i=1 means item 1 is selected by the user. Hey guys, I'm new here, and still somewhat of a noob when it comes to html and web design so be easy on me. One of my new projects is creditcardrewardzone.com, which I thought was looking pretty good until someone told me that it was completely screwed up when they looked at it in Internet Explorer on their windows machine. I myself work on a mac and check it with safari, firefox, and IE, and everything looks fine, but for some reason in IE on windows, the tables run really long to the point where the site isn't functional. In the site I am developing I have put the sites logo in a div and in the CSS I have put the image of the logo as the background-image. I would like to know if there are any tricks when adding the alt, title and long description tags? I am also using a h1 inside the div with the logo bg image with a text indent so the text doesnt show. This helps with SEO. The div is also clickable using a technique I found at BonRouge: http://bonrouge.com/br.php?page=faq#divlink I would just like some opinions please? I have given the div a title with the logo's name inside the title. But can I do more by adding an alt tag and long description? Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks! |
