Is that possible in any way? All I'm familiar with are fixed height and width parameters. Thanks, Jim I have made a link from an image to open a detail of the image in a new page. Everything works OK but the only problem I've got is that the new browser window that opens is too big, the image is nestled up in the right hand corner. Is there a way I can controll the size of the new browser window so that it only displays the image with a minmul white space around it? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Dyfrig I'm trying to figure out how to create a slide show within a static sliced webpage. I'm self taught with Fireworks and am pretty confident however always willing to learn from others whenever I get the chance. The page is for a friend, they have asked me if its possible to have a maximum of 3 images that roatate on a slide show within the page, so the first picture will be there for 4 seconds then the next and so on. Thanks in advance... I have tried to find a code for my site to add a slide show for photo's with no luck, has anyone done this and can anyone help me out here? Thanks I have a CD that has a slide show of a fashion show. How can I add this slide show to my web site so that by just clicking on a designated word the slide show will begin? Much appreciated, Jaymom I want to have multiple banners appear every couple seconds like a slide show. Here is my website. (http://www.dubcityfilms.com) The banner is the one with the cars on it. I want to have 5 or so different ones that randomly switch. Can someone help me with this? Thanks. hello people, I checked the other day how is easy to have a slider with html5 and how great looks, but I was wondering how can I use it to control the font size or color of the font or background. I use already the font size option for the user to my blog's posts but with javascript and by clicking on two images (plus, minus). A simple slider would be perfect but I cant find on internet how can I get the values from slider and feed the size or color. I only found one tutorial on html5 slider which just prints the number on the slider. I am not an excerpt so any help will be much appreciated. cheers Hi, I like to show picture like a slide show like below link http://www.giftedpenguin.co.uk/ PLease tell me how to do that,do i need to do j-script or something? thanks hi all im after advice on the best way to create a vertical slide show that only changes on a page refresh the images will be shown with a negative film as a frame that is repeated vertically then i will use php code to show a random image inside the frame so, which will be best using the frame as a repeated background image then having a div with the image overlapping this or manually displaying a large image that i have repeated in photoshop. Hello, I am in the very early stages of redesigning our home page. I have a page that contains a text area. What I want it to do is to change its size according to the size of the browser window. How can I make it do that? I did it once but just can't seem to remember how I did it. Thanks All: Working to update a previously designed website. Original design uses an <img> tag to create a top banner and another <img> tag to create a side banner. In each case there are mapped coordinates on each banner as links for the subsequent pages. Basic page design is as follows: Code: <table> <tr> <td> <img usemap="Map1"> <map name="Map1"> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> </tr> </table> <table> <tr> <td> <img name="Map2"> <map> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> <div> ***PAGE CONTENT*** </div> <tr> <table> The challenge is that the [PAGE CONTENT] varries in length througout the site causing some pages to be much longer or shorter than others. This causes some inconsistencey in the relationship between the side banners height and the page content. In other words in some cases the banner is exceptionally longer than the page content and the reader must scroll past significant "dead-space" before being brought to the lowest mapped links in the side banner; or... ...in some cases the side banner is significantly shorter than the page content causing the banner image to appear "poorly-fit" to the page design. I considered altering the 2nd table instance in the above design so that the banner is carried in a <td> tag that is adjacent to the page content and hopefully to allow the tag carrying the image to size relative to the <td> tag carring the content.... Code: <table> <tr> <td> <img usemap="Map1"> <map name="Map1"> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> </tr> </table> <table> <tr> <td size="100%"> <img name="Map2"> <map> <area> <area> <area> </map> </td> <td size="100%" > <table> ***PAGE CONTENT*** </table> </td> <tr> <table> The problem I've found with this is that as the content size causes the image to "flex", either readablilty or image quality or both are effected, AND the mappings become inconsistent as the image coordinates constantly change. I've considered 2 solutions and am leaning toward one, but thought I'd post this and see if there are better ideas I'm overlooking. One idea was to add additional table rows inside the [PAGE CONTENT] table presumably creating a "defalut" page size that would never be smaller than a standard for the side banner. Problem: larger page sizes are still a problem as are the changing map coordinates My other idea was to return to the original page design listed first above and again settle on a standard side banner "height"... ...any page that was significantly longer than that height would be split to 2 or more pages with a [NEXT>>] button at the bottom of the page navigating to the additional content. Problem: ...possible complications splitting content... Benefit: ...consistent page design that allows a consistent side banner with navigable links... Question for the group: Does this sound reasonable? Are there better alternatives I am overlooking? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL INPUT!! how do I create a section slide? This is where say, we have an item on this page. And we can expand/collapse that part from a click of a button? I can't seem to find the examples....but have seen them before. I hope you know what I mean basically just want some panel where I can click on a button, it will expand the contents (slide) and when I click on the button again, it will collapse the contents (sliding back up) I am in need of assistance. Is it possible to do in jquery or mootools or similar ? I cant code myself so some tutorial would be helpful. Thanks in advance Hi all, I would like to display the left 2/3rds of an image, and then immediately pan to the right to switch the view to the right hand side 2/3rds of that image. How can I do this? I've tried the marquee keyword, but that starts with a blank space then slides in the whole image. I want to start with the left 2/3rds then pan to the right 2/3rds then stop. See here for an example: http://www.pinecrestmaine.com/gorham.htm Any ideas how this is done? Thanks, Sandi Well, im using a cool slider to make the page slide to the designated anchor-name. In this case I want the page to slide down to the contact info, when the contact button is clicked at the top. Problem is, that that button is located inside the header.php file... and the browser reacts strange whenever its pressed. HTML Code: <div class="g-contact"><a href="#aanpak" rel="" id="anchor1" class="anchorLink" title="Contact">Contact</a></div> when clicked it should slide smoothly down to: HTML Code: <a name="aanpak" id="anchor1"></a> Please have a look at the situation here. Thanks. I think I kinda know how the coding is thinking... but I wouldnt have the slightest clue how to make it act like I want it to. Help much appreciated, cheers. Hi there, you might remember me from this thread. (which was resolved by Mandarin, thanks you!) Now Im back with another, kind of the same thing: "Click -> Locate page -> & then slide down?" Allow me to explain: So ive got this header.php right. And the header file is included at every page. All the links in the header.. link to 1 file. (diensten.php) BUT, each link links to different areas within that file... So what I would like to achieve is that when a link in the header is clicked, it slides down to the correct page-area. Porblem is.... after clicked, is doesnt even go the right page. I think the smooth slider jquery-plugin is interfering someway. I already laid down the groundwork inside the header. Please have a look here. Would my wish be possible? Or should I just lay it to rest? Thanks. |
